What does one read without an Oxford?
I reference almost daily as I write and as I read. I’m a lucky one.
It suppose be one payment subscription
You changed the agreement without any explanation, and that is not good business. Honor the term you agreed.
Not comprehensive
Too many of hyphenated words and proper nouns.
No Widgets
Terrible interface and no widgets. Will not renew.
Needs a makeover
Looks very old but works good.
A truly superior product.
Some things, like the Periodic Table, represent some of the foremost achievements of human thought. And the OED is such a monument (even if we discount the other Oxford dictionaries). Buying a book like this for $25 is worth it to me. I expect this to provide profit and enjoyment to years to come. I offer my personal thanks to the countless people over centuries who have worked and sacrificed to produce this book. And I also send my thanks to the software engineers, and everyone else, who did the work allowing me to put this behemoth of a book into my pocket. Five stars.
I have paid for Oxford Deluxe, but now I need pay again.
Four years ago, I have bought the dictionary Oxford Deluxe, but now it disappears and another Oxford Deluxe(In App) appears, and I cannot use it for free. Why?
Awkward yet Complete
The depth of words is unbeatable. The user interface is inconsolable.
这么贵，应该提供屏幕选词啊
这么贵，应该提供屏幕选词啊！！
bug
经常不时闪退，并且在ios打开单词注解页后切屏其他应用，再切回到本app一定会卡住
Why do I love the Oxford Dictionary
As an octogenarian at this stage in my life, I look back to the days when as a young school boy my dad always spoke of the “Murray’s Oxford” as the ultimate lexicon to refer to. Things have not changed. When you refer to it, you know it is the ultimate. How delighted I was when my granddaughter a few years ago, when she was still not ten, asked me for a dictionary. What did I give her. You guessed the answer correctly! Why, of course the Oxford dictionary. She is a voracious reader and refers to it all of the time. Cyrus Kapadia.
Dictionary access revoked(?)
After an update I am now unable to use the dictionary unless I pay an additional $25 usd of the $25 I have already paid when this app used to cost money. I want a refund!!!!!
同步故障
刚买了这个词典，发现手机和平板查的单词无法同步，希望能改善一下😢
Not working
I recently purchased this app on my IPhone 12. I have not been able to get it to work yet. Also I have not been able to get help with a resolution.
Fair to Middling
Overall it’s OK, if a bit lacking in content depth. In preference I turn to another Thesaurus with a much richer range of choices. My main beef is small but irritating - the search box doesn’t auto populate with the word currently highlighted in a document. Sounds trivial, but is a pain when working with as few distractions as possible and it prevents this app from being my one stop shop.
Oxford Dictionary of English, 2nd edition
This easy-to-use dictionary is so helpful as I strive to find the right word for every occasion and to understand other word to enhance the flavor of my vocabulary. Thanks for a wonderful dictionary!
ODE
Why does this say ODE rather than OED?
This app is great; although I still do not know how to update it
How do I update this app
It's okay
It serves its purpose, but due to lag time, system shutting down unexpectedly I find that I dont turn to it often and prefer the internet
The best dictionary
Easy to understand even I am not native speaker. Efficient.Ramon
10 definitions?
Wow. What? I randomly clicked through 10 words and it locked me out. That's a 30-second trial. Amazing, Oxford.
SUGGESTION to add a new feature "“Move All words in History to Bookmark with One Click"
This is a really fantastic dictionary! There is only one inconvenience that almost makes me give it up. It does not allow me to add all the words in history to bookmark with ONE CLICK. Can you imagine how inconvenient this is to add 50-70 words ONE BY ONE everyday? I am totally aware that adding “Move All words in History to Bookmark” feature is not a big technical challenge for the developer and this small change can improve user’s experience greatly.
crashes when looking up
Why crashes and dictionary shut down when typing certain letters like [ta]? Could you please fix the problem asap, thanks
Appreciation
I appreciate the pronunciation of some of the words I am not sure of and the Thesaurus has been very helpful.
This Is Not What I Expected
The user interface is unwieldy, non-intuitive and confusing. I paid for it but I’m dumping it
Update
I finally was able to update the app after three weeks. Now working again a expected.
What’s happening?
Paid twice for this app and still not working correctly and still trying to make me download a new version, which the app store knows has been done (ie says open) and the phone app does not it’s upgraded! I use this app pretty much every day and it’s a frustration.
Oxford Deluxe
This app is a fabulous learning tool that gives the user easy access to a quality dictionary. The flashcard feature save the time of compiling lists outside the app. Twenty-five USD is a lot to ask, but I am oh so temped to oblige. Update 070223: After a dozen or so entries searched, the app has locked her treasures away.
Oxford Deluxe Dictionary
Shows as a 1 time purchase yet will give one word and puts you back to the purchase screen after each word?
可以优化一下登陆的过程吗
每次打开都要重新登录，要点击已购买还要等很久，不是很满意
Words are too easy
I like the format. The words are too easy.
Exceptional
I love this app and use it all the time. It is convenient and easy to navigate. I am grateful to have access to the wealth of knowledge so readily available through using this app.
Have to restore my purchase every single time
Every single time I use this app I have to restore my purchase first. If you're intent on trying this app before you buy try this version but then uninstall it and just buy the full version rather than using the in app purchase. The dictionary is absolutely worth the price, but version of the app is pathetic. The in app purchase technology is clearly far beyond the capabilities of the illustrious intellects at Oxford.
每次重现打开app都会弹出购买页面
我已经购买了，但是还是会弹出购买页面。每次都要点击已购，很烦
Great reference, but app crashes
I paid the in-app fee, but it continues to prompt me to pay. When I click the “restore in-app purchase “ button, the app crashes
Connection failed on installation. App Support link -> ‘This site can’t be reached’
App Store purchase went through. Connection failed message appeared when app was beginning the installation. App Support link takes me to a ‘This site can’t be reached’.
Horrible
Just one of a million 'free' apps. What a surprise...once downloaded, it states that you have to pay to use. Joke
Daily reference
I originally purchased this app for the MacBook because it provides a good reference. Everything from help with pronunciation to synonyms is a fabulous resource. My only complaint is the app on the Mac isn’t native to the M1. But I’m sure it will be soon.
Example sounds please
I would like to buy this app, unfortunately its example doesn’t have sounds 😔
Humanity and language.
Outstanding contribution to accuracy, efficacy, and improvement of communications between human beings. The precision and comprehensiveness of the analysis and examples improves the quality of life for all of humanity.
Needs update!
Same problem as iPad version. Looks like an update is needed.
不错的词典
我喜欢看美剧，美剧中很多热词，比如习语，谚语，查不到。从常规使用的角度，其实算不错。例句偏少，很多词汇没例句。iphone，ipad都可以用。希望越做越好。
It crashes frequently.
Please fix it!
