It’s alright
It’s a solid app. It didn’t accept my email address because there was an extra space after it, which was weird. But over all a pretty good experience.
Works ok but hard to add second CC
I’ll se if the ticket works. Hope so
Awesome app but one functionality is missing
Using this app in France. It is so much better than the national railway one... Just in another league. I am removing one star though because you cannot easily switch accounts: it would be so much easier to be able to switch between personal and professional accounts in just one tap (or between accounts in general).
Best website for US purchases
Easy to use, best way for US residents visiting France to purchase train tickets.
Not easy
I am not able to add all Ready purchased tickets to the app. Very frustrating.
Improvements
Online wheelchair assistance booking should be ace. Please?
No track number info (a biggie) and not all train companies are available
I’ve been using it for 2 years. It is a a nice and convenient to use app, very easy way to purchase tickets. But there are four major drawbacks: 1. For the most tickets I bought through this app, the platform/track info wasn’t provided. This is a huge deal if you if are transferring to another train at a large station and have little time between trains. Sometimes the train info display is quite far from the track where you just exited. You need to run around with your bags to figure out your next track #. Not fun at all. So I often need to use local train app for a specific country to figure out more details.... 2. Train numbers are not always 100% accurate, which makes it even harder to find the platform. For example, I am on a train IC 508 at the moment, but my ticket shows 507. SNCB app (Belgian railroad app) shows the right train number (508) And yes, I am on the right train, one stop away from my destination :) 3. Some train companies are not available for purchase through the app. For example, while in Belgium I am seeing the schedule for Thalys trains in the app, but not able to purchase tickets. Had similar situations in other countries. 4. Inflexibility with time. Based on the info in the app, if you buy the ticket through Trainline EU app, you have to take that exact train, not earlier or later. You can exchange/return your ticket the day before travel before midnight. But you can’t take earlier or later train, should your circumstances change on the day of travel, even if the train doesn’t have assigned seats. However most tickets you buy through other venues are more flexible. You can take either train, as long as you travel on the same day you bought a ticket for. So, all in all, it is an ok app, but you’ll have to supplement with other train apps if you want more info and convenience.
Please include the ability to pay for tickets on the same reservation with multiple credit cards.
Please include the ability to pay for tickets on the same reservation with multiple credit cards. Thank you!
Good service
But last year I ve bought two ticket from Paris to Vannes in July and August and I don’t get beach refun even though I ve tried to asking for refun before one month !/( So sad !!
Pricing changed when card declined
They declined my CC and then increased the price. App is a ripoff
Couldn’t live without it
Perfect app
Unable to upload my tickets to the ap
Have followed the instructions provided and created an account yet still unable to upload my tickets to the ap.
Important feature missing!
You cannot import an existing jouney that someone else bought for you. For example, on the Oui SNCF app, you can easily import an existing jouney using its reference and the named used during the purchase. I will give 5 stars if this feature makes its way to Trainline.
Shows no availability where there is plenty?
I have enjoyed using the app for its ease of use, but: 1) am confused by there being a new, similar, but more confusing interface trainline app 2) I have tried finding tickets for trains from Lisbon to Porto with no success on the app, but had no issue finding them on Portugal’s train tickets website (and purchasing them there.)
Stupid app!
Buy a ticket, and 9 times out of 10, the ticket will not appear in the app. Even weeks or months after! How hard can it be???

Quick service and accurate
Mrs S.
Well I suppose now is perhaps not the best time to be writing a review as it’s taken me nearly 23 hours to actually book the train tickets I want via Trainline website/app. For reasons yet undiscovered neither the website nor the App would allow me to complete the booking process for tickets from Paris CDG Airport to Disneyland Paris despite having done this on three occasions before. Despite doing as requested by the very patient ‘Bert’ of customer services, changing browsers (x3) trying different devices (x4) all to no avail. Finally advised to change the App from the green one to the white European one, which makes sense if you’d been aware there were two different apps. As always the most frustrating part is the lack of human contact. No one to take reservations over the phone when online difficulties arise. No phone number for customer services for European tickets, everything has to be done by email. Now I have discovered it’s not even e-tickets I can print off at home or download to my phone, I am going to have to find a ticket machine in France to dispense the tickets when I arrive, something you aren’t made aware of until you have completed and paid for your order. All in all a very frustrating experience.
Issues with accepting card payments
Recently I tried booking a trip and I had issues trying to pay even when trying two cards. I got the oops error message and sent the mail but never did I get a reply...really disappointing when I actually liked the ease of the app booking trains in Europe !
Amazing
So quick and easy and also cheaper than GoEuro(Omio) and other websites. Thank you heaps.
No so good, won’t use it again
Well, here’s the deal. We thought it insightful to order our tickets (round trip from Paris to Vernon-Giverny and back) via Trainline and its app. First I created a profile with all the info requested, especially dates of birth for me an my wife since we’d qualify for a senior discount. Then I closed the app/web site since we weren’t ready to pull the trigger just yet, didn’t know day and times we might like. When we did, I logged in, my account and our info popped up and I thought I was good to go to get the round trip tickets. I did, sorta. Got an email, two separate ones for both trips. The first one, the outbound, enabled me to input a code at the kiosk at the station and print our tickets. BUT ... the return ticket kept saying “This Ticket Does Not Exist.” How nice. After several email interactions with Trainline they tell me the return ticket is a different ticket from the first, outbound ticket and that this second one cannot be printed at the train station kiosk. Now why would that be since I made both reservations at the same time during the same login? Odd, huh? So we go back and forth and they say print the ticket out in A4 format (okay, I know that one) but, of coure, walking around Giverny, well, I don’t have nor do I carry a printer. Then they said they couldn’t simply cancel this ticket and issue another because this 2nd ticket didn’t allow it - the first one did - again, why did I get issued two different tickets with the same profile for both tickets, ticketed at the same time? No way to resolve this walking around France so we simply purchased another set of tickets ... ... and give the company a single star which is more than it deserves.
Good app some suggestions to improve
When seeking to make multiple bookings the time it takes to expire is too short & then bookings disappear - having to start over again. Perhaps just refresh the prices if changed. Otherwise good App
Still trying to make it work.
Not working properly. I have three tickets booked. They aren’t coming up on the app. It is trying to tell me that I have no tickets booked.
Frustrating glitch
In trying to pay for a ticket, I was told that my email address of 10 years was invalid!?
Only App That Works With A US Credit Card
Great planning app and couldn’t be simpler when it comes time to book. Enter all passenger info once for my wife and I. Keeps credit card info! Insert all of your discount cards and they are applied automatically.
Doesn’t work
I’ve tried paying multiple times for a trip with two different credit cards but this app just doesn’t work.
Easy and efficient
For 2 Aussie 60ish travellers this was the easiest way to book and pay for tickets. Easy to use and holds our ticket QR code for the gate scanner. Got us from London to Paris and Paris to Lyon and now back to Charles de Gaulle to fly home.
Putting in credit info
The app got stock with different keyboards ( other than English) and I had to delete the key board from my phone in order to input numbers for credit card !!!
Why use if physical tickets are required?
The app says that it will send me electronic tickets 4 days prior but I will need to print the tickets. Then it says I can use it either by app or printed. Not sure which is right and I’ll already be traveling by the time the tickets are emailed. Very inconvenient.
非常棒
这个app非常棒 很方便
Using TrainLine App
Can’t figure out how to upload my two, 2 page tickets into new TrainLine account- the directions are not clear to me
Great App but beware of platform change times between trains
We’ve used this app to book trains all over Europe, it’s been Really good. One thing we found is that the trains NEVER get in on time, if you are getting multiple trains in one journey always allow 1hr apart. The app gives you train times of 15 minutes apart, which could really ruin a trip as most tickets aren’t refundable.
No trains listed for Spain...
Couldn’t find any Trains available while in Spain... why?
Limited booking for group
Cannot book for more than 5 people at a time for train. Very disappointing.
Very cool
Works like a charm 😃😃
Waste of time
Stupid application Nothing works. Reject credit cards for no reason. Do not waste your time
Experience
Great service. Train very clean and punctual!! It all helps towards my enjoyment of the Italy experience
PayPal kept timing out.
I'm guessing this is an app issue as it kept double opening the PayPal screen.
App fails to recognize paid reservations
Good search engine, but once ticket is paid (and I receive email confirmation) the APP still shows “pay now “. Very confusing. I’m hoping that I really do have tickets, and fortunately I have 4 days once I get to my first destination to confirm.
Great as always !
Add bus options !
Will not recognize with online purchases
I bought 4 tickets via Trainline EU’s online website, and then received a message which was supposed to provide app links, but the app will not recognize purchased tickets and thus the tickets are unusable unless you can print on a4 paper. So irritating! Please allow for easier importing of tickets from online purchase.
Facile! Easy train tickets in France
This is a simple and efficient way to find out if trains are running in France and possible connections. It worked for me 😄
Limited
90% of the searches I tried failed. It doesn’t account for UK stations even though they are available in the search. You cannot choose them. However you can be completely vague and choose “London”! Doesn’t seem to have a very comprehensive list of European stations. For example I could buy tickets for Milan but not for Rome or Venice. I was just exploring trying to find fun destinations to reach by train but there are so many failed searches that I gave up. It doesn’t tell you why the search failed and in the help there are so many excuses of why a search might fail that you think “what’s the point?”. Also for some of the routes (e.g. London to Milan) it forces you to do the London to Paris leg via coach. What’s that all about? Why can’t do take the Eurostar as part of it? Think it would be easier to buy tickets on the web rather than through this app.
printing tickets
Why we need to print tickets? not traveling with printer. So frustrated
Best Reservation System Anywhere
Amazing simple and clear reservations for booking, understanding the schedules, alternatives and seat selection.
Slow
Took 15 tries to pass each step despite LTE and at least 3 bars.
Credit Card
Had trouble getting the site to accept my credit card, but otherwise flawless.
Crashes
App shows current pricing without fees and allows you to book iDTGV which is great, except that it crashed every time I was about to finalise a booking :(
OK until something goes wrong
The translations and UI in English a bit hard to follow, but overall fairly easy to use. When our first train was cancelled (with no notice that 8 heard) we were able to board the replacement no problem showing the fix on the phone. However when trying to arrange a new connection it was very difficult and took a lot of waiting in line. Finally received great personal attention when I thought we’d never make it to front of line in time, the agent printed out the fix, said needed special attention with the discount(which I didn’t understand) but we got it. No seat assignments which made it difficult and awkward but it worked. Think we lucky. Train problems not app’s fault, but no good advice on how to fix the problem which would have been a huge help.
