Test memory
This app tests memory, not how ASWB LCSW test really is. Lacks real world simulation. I worked with it for over a year before I took the practice test provided by ASWB. This program does NOT prep you for the real test and focuses on memory.

Not All It’s Cracked Up To Be
This app is decent; it definitely has a wide and deep array of questions. I passed the exam on the first try but I don’t attribute my success to Pocket Prep alone. Utilizing the AWSB practice exam and using AI to generate ASWB style exam questions was far more helpful. The questions in Pocket Prep are more based on recall than applying clinical judgement and clinical decision-making. I would not recommend this app as the only tool one should use to study for the licensing exam. It’s decent but if the developers of the app were to reach out and offer me a refund or even a partial refund I would not refuse it.
Technical issues, otherwise great for studying on the go
Update: I’m having issues connecting to the server and at times it is not loading or storing my progress when quizzes do load I love this app! It’s so helpful for studying on the go anytime and even has full mock exams for longer study sessions.
Great study app
The explanations are provided to inform what makes an answer right or incorrect with accurate citation. I used a different app for the same exam for several months and didn’t pass. The editors of the app were not receptive to questions. I haven’t had any issues with this study app.
What happened?
Not really sure what happened to the quality of this app…have used it before and it seemed more geared to the LCSW material…not so much now…still referring to the DSM-5 amd that means outdated info! Hey developers pull it together…we have had the DSM 5 TR for awhile now Dont waste time or miney on this app! Way better tools out there to study with!
LCSW prep
Many of the questions are very wordy. The exam was not wordy. The prep did help. I used it in conjunction with TDC. The quiz of the day, missed question quiz and explanations were most helpful and helped me pass the LCSW exam on my first try.

Great add on
I recently passed my clinical exam and used pocket prep. I find that it is the PERFECT add on to using another program. It will help you with total recall questions and is a great way to study on the go!
Amazing!
I used this app to study (I got the premium version) and I don’t know that I would have passed without it. So many of the questions in the app resemble what’s on the exam, and I wouldn’t have been anywhere near as prepared otherwise. This is the only tool I used to study, and I passed it on my first try!

Just passed LCSW exam
The app largely was helpful and will prepare you for the exam. The style of the questions and things it asks about do reflect the content of the exam. I also appreciate that you can study your weakest subject and things like that. My complaint is that the reasoning behind the ‘correct’ answer was not consistent. There also were some very questionable “correct” answers, especially with ethical / mandated reporting questions. If you fail the practice exam on the app, DONT panic. I passed my boards with a flying stars after failing 2 practice exams on the app.
Not a Reflection of Actual Exam
I took the LMSW Clinical Exam in Michigan on 11/11/24. I paid for 1 month of service $22 for Pocket Prep LCSW. I used the app for 2 weeks straight. I used the daily question every day. I took 2 practice exams. Used the missed questions and all of the resources. The app lacks study materials. It’s more of Trial and Error. I also read 300+ pages of Dawn Apgar book. The exam itself requires a lot of memory, something I am very short of. The exam consisted of 170 questions in which 150 only counted towards the score and I needed 102 questions answered correctly to pass the exam. I scored an 89 and this was my first and probably only attempt. The app is not indicative of the actual exam, it states that, but the reflection of questions are definitely OFF. The questions are harder but provide little to no insight and needs study materials. My advice, use materials that actually reflect the material you’re gonna need and use the ASWB Guidebook for reference.

I used this app for my LMSW and my LCSW exams. I passed both exams the first time. Excellent for consistent questions with rationales available whether you get the answer right or wrong. You can always go back and get it right the next try! I answered over 1100 questions before my LCSW and also reviewed content areas with TDC.

Great study tool!!
I relied heavily on this app for my LCSW exam and I passed on the first try! I did the daily question, plus 10 quick questions and built my own quiz (approx 30 questions per day). I was able to answer all 2000 questions in less than three months. Very helpful and questions were similar in style to the actual exam questions.

This is an amazing and helpful app. It was also user friendly. Studying with his app helps me to achieve success on my exams. It has scenario based questions that are exam style and recall questions that helped significantly. The questions on this app were written very similarly to the exam questions. I had originally used a different app to study but THANKFULLY downloaded this the day before and it helped me so much. I passed!
