What people like
- It just works perfectly
- Remembers your last speed setting
- Keeps ticking in the background
What they complain about
- You have to pay to start it
- Ads interrupt the beat constantly
- Hard to set speed precisely
Pretty good
This app does exactly what it says it does, has worked well for me. My only criticism is that it is quite difficult to start it without changing the speed you set it at, because the dragging part is very sensitive, however, I did find a way around this because it starts if you just tap the screen. I also particularly like that when you close the app and then open it again, it stays on the speed you were last using it on, which is particularly useful since I’m playing a piece that has a particular speed. Overall a good app, I can’t really fault it :)
Working now
Ver 3.11.1 works. Sorry to say but you really need to test your apps when you update, ver 3.11 simple does no open/crashes. Previously version was working great and was a nice app.
Extremely good
Very good but the thing that disappoints me is that you have to pay if you go over 160 bpm!I’ve read the other comments and they’ve been mostly saying the same thing. Why do they let us down?Ps:I haven’t had any technical issues:).
Moronic metronome
This looks authentic but it has flaws to use. The lack of alternative sounds, the poor sensitivity of the touch areas make this metronome not a top pick. I chose it because of its apparent authenticity. For a digital metronome it’s pretty poor In my humble opinion.
Great concept, lacking somewhat in execution
Pretty basic. That isn't a bad thing in itself – a basic no-nonsense metronome app, overburdened with precisely zero unnecessary features, but it's a little lacking in execution: *the tempo slider is oversensitive (requires fine movement of the thumb to set) *it's pretty finicky to start and stop the metronome. I like the _idea_ of dragging the ticker to start it, but in practice it's easy to accidentally move the tempo slider instead, (because the "hitbox" is far too large and has no activation timer), which is then a pain to set again) *the tempo cannot be adjusted when the metronome is already ticking (the +/- buttons needn't hide once it's got going) So, with a bit if polish and QOL improvements, this app could be great. As it is right now, I'm likely to keep using one of the other more "digital" looking metronome apps that are just less of a fiddle to work with. When you're drilling something that you're focussing hard on, you don't want to be bothered by something fiddly to use. The ease of accidentally sliding the tempo when you go to start the metronome is probably the biggest issue there.
Simples
It just works!
No longer works
Since the latest upgrade the app crashes on startup. I deleted it.
Excellent outil
Doesn’t go above 160 Bpm
I’ve used so many metronome apps. The functionality in this one is irritating- it’s not easy to precisely set a speed, and the free version only lets you go up to 160bpm. There are many metronome apps far superior to this one.
Problema Metronome
A piano student
Very good way to keep in time with your pieces
So lite it does nothing
Downloaded it, opened it, hit start and basically you need to pay to make it work. So lite means a picture of a metronome and the ability to change the numbers, but you can’t actually start it. So I’ll be deleting it.
Alan Williams
Great for warming up and helping my timings. Accuracies for playing individual Notes.
Why?
Why the heck is it upside down on my iPad? N better or worse than anything on google free, but convenient to have as a GO TO, without having to search. That’s all.
Plain Metronome
Basic, but it works. In the light version though you get full screen adds every time you open settings panel. And the app only works in portrait mode. Annoying if you switch between landscape apps and this app. But for free it’s ok.
Does what is says it will do and worth the paid price
I’ve only used this to count BPM for exercise so can’t comment on full use for music practice - however it works perfectly. A great feature is that it keeps running as a background task, so you can hear the beat while doing other things. Don’t complain about “free apps”, you should only expect to get a feel for the app in the free version, enough to make you want to pay for the real one. I paid for the app - it’s cheaper than a real device and it’s more portable
U have to pay
Scam
Very good
Simple, good sound, very usable
Amazing
An amazing free app
True metronome
It isn’t a very good app really really you have to pay £2.99 to get a better version which is pointless!! I do not recommend it 😐🤷♀️
Success
This was so useful and I loved using it. Very grateful for it.
Scam cant use
U have to pay
Brilliant
As a teacher, this is perfect for my students to download. During CV19 it’s a great app to help everyone learn to keep in time and it’s just like the real pyramid model you can buy with adjustable beats in the bar and speeds. I only wish there was an 8 in the speeds but for some reason, it skips that number. On occasions for slow practise, it’s useful to count 8 quavers in a bar as opposed to 4 crotchets.
Pub
Pub au milieu de l’écran avec une toute toute petite croix. Tellement intrusif que j’ai supprimé cette appli sans chercher à la tester plus.
The app
It’s ok but the annoying part is that it has ads
Perfect
As a beginner this is a brilliant app and so easy to use. I use it all the time.
Rubbish
Doesn’t do anything unless you pay! I mean nothing !! Lmao don’t bother
Great, but there are too many adds
Brilliant! Just loose the adds
Meh
I needed a metronome to do my practice nothing special
Metronome
This is agood metronome.
Doesn’t work
Still doesn’t work
Okay
It has okay timing but isn’t too good when it comes to advertisements.
well..
it is a good app but i can’t hear it over my piano 🎹
Super
I use the metronome all the time. I can pick out the first beat clearly. I could occasionally do with it slowing further when learning a new piece.
Literally does nothing
Well this is a first! A “lite” version of an app that literally does nothing. You can set bpm, but not start the metronome without paying! Utter rubbish.
Cool
I haven’t got the full version but it still works amazingly. I’m using it to help me with leaning the ukulele. I like it. It’s good. Why not get it.
It’s ok
Could be better
In daily use
This is a great app. I only use it for timing my physical exercise routine at 60 bpm but it is perfect for that. I don’t understand all the gripes about the ads. It’s free FGS! Who looks at the screen anyway, it’s an audio device!
Misleading advert...You have to pay for this to work
App does not work at all unless you upgrade to the full version. There no BASIC functionality. I don’t understand why Apple allow companies to advertise “In App Purchases” when to get ANY functionality you need to pay. Very poor advertising standards. Be warned about this app.
Very Useful
The basic free App is a great tool, mimicking an analogue metronome. The only thing that would make it better is the ability to slow it down even further, although it is quite rare to need it that slow. Overall-10/10...
Awesomeness
Awesomeness 😎
Don’t bother
It doesn’t let me try ANY tempo. For it to work it asks you to purchase the app. How can I trust it though???
Almost perfect!
True metronome is quick and easy to use. Just set the tempo and go!! The only thing wrong with it is that the tempo only goes up to 160 and I think it should go higher!!
