Sarasota news
Good local stories and updates for Sarasota County. Easy to find topics and categories of current news.
Terrible
Am a subscriber. Pay $25 a month but cannot read articles. Site keeps asking to subscribe.
Great
Thanks for staying on top of storm info
Too many ads!
I paid for a year subscription of news stories, and get more Advertisements and pop-up ads than continues news text. Why did I have to pay, when obviously USA Today is getting a lot of money from selling ads.
New online format
Don’t like this style as well as the former online app. It jumps around the pages at the slightest finger tap.
Great way to keep up with the news
I have always respected the herald and always have enjoyed reading it. I prefer paper but costs make this more affordable by going digital. Just a sign of the times 🥴
To Late
Yesterday’s news tomorrow!
Politics
Your political coverage is so left wing it is very disturbing. I seriously consider ending my subscription.
What happened to my paper?
I’ve subscribed for a few years yet now when I open the HT app it restricts my access to articles. Some I can see and read yet others it wants me to subscribe to. I’m already subscribing! It even recognizes me when I open the app but things go downhill from there. The app doesn’t let me check my subscription status, so I have no idea what’s going on. I can still read the HT by opening the e-mailed edition but that’s a hassle. May cancel for a few weeks and then resubscribe at the lower rate they advertise to me.
When it works it's okay
Today I could only get USA Today weekend edition on the e-newspaper tab.
Great local news.
Enjoy
Ripped off
I thought I paid $49 for a years subscription 2 months ago. Now I’m told that it didn’t go through and my subscription is canceled. I was never asked for a different card and that I need to open a new account for $25 a month.
I love my newspaper.
The Sarasota Herald Tribune has met the challenges facing newspapers and provides a balance of local and world news. To me, the coverage is factual and relatively timely. I count on it to start my day. I love the e-newspaper in particular because it’s there when I get up early.
Chet
Why not just stop all your liberal BS and just report the facts! You guys are just ridiculous at times with the one side of your editorial.
Easy to Read
The e newspaper is easy to read and has several formats to choose from. Like most papers, the Tribune presents the liberal point of view, and this bias sadly spreads beyond the Editorial page.
Sarasota Herald Tribune Mobile App
So easy to use. Always up to date. Daily editions are available for those early risers. So much better than waiting than waiting around at home for the carrier to deliver my paper. Cost effective. Convenient.
Ads with paid subscription
Way too many ads. There’s at least 2 on my phone screen at any point while reading an article. Dark mode until these giant screen-sized bright white ads ruin it
Improved but still needs tweaking
Overall I am pleased with the new app. Due to my poor eyesight, I use the option to have the articles read aloud to me. I do like the change in the app that skips over non article items when swiping to the next article. I do find however that sometimes, this option is not available on some features. As an example, in today’s herald tribune issue (08/11/2025) “ask Carolyn” is blank and will not read. This is not an everyday occurrence, but often enough to make note. Thanks
Not Reliable
When it works it’s fine, but often it’s glitchy and some daysI can’t get the newspaper to load - like this morning. All I get is a grey screen.
They made it worse
The new app is less flexible in its setup options. It doesn’t open to the full page. Also, what’s with the pop up ads. I pay for a subscription and get the ads that are with the newspaper. Very annoying….The page advance arrow is too close to the other options and often results in selecting usa today
I love the online version
It’s like reading the paper without the physical paper.
Thumbs down
When I try to open it, it shows yesterday’s paper. Inconsistent!!!
Easy and Informative
Using the internet version is easy to scroll through and you can quickly zero in on the articles you are most interested in.
News
Always enjoy the news. We download the paper everyday and catch up on sports, local and national news.
Vacation hold
It is impossible to find the place to schedule a vacation hold
Review
Good newspaper
Difficult to Navigate
For the last month your website is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate. in addition, there are pop-up ads that are not in the newspaper itself. Don Pansch
Really good e-paper
Read every morning with a large cup of coffee making for a great day
Bummer
Too bad they didn't consider iPad readers... iPhone apps on an iPad just don't get it. Liked the old viewer better!
News stories duplicated
Every day half of the newspaper shows identical stories that were in your digital addition yesterday. Only the second half of today’s stories are new.
Pop up ads….
Unfortunately, I find the new, replaced app awful. Why?…..It is difficult and most annoying to read as it contains sleazy, pop-up & low grade, “flashy” advertising placed throughout every page and article.
Sarasota Herald Tribune
Always packed with informative news articles. Way more world news than my newspaper when I lived in PA.
Awful
This is awful. Doesn’t even look like a newspaper. Can’t find familiar items like puzzles or front page. If you do luckily stumble onto puzzles you can’t print them.
