With iOS 18 the app keeps crashing even after recent update !!!! Please fix!!! Dec 10 and still doesn’t work after latest updates….

Great, when it works properly
I work for a company that uses MaxUC for our business phone service and for the most part if works quite well. Being that we provide the product internally I can easily get assistance, however, ever since iOS 26 this app has been absolutely awful. While audio remains fine, if music is playing and I dial out, the music will start again while making call; this doesn’t occur on inbound calls. In addition, lately speaker shuts off automatically for no apparent reason. If the dialogue box is open and I keep it up the speaker will stay on. If speaker is launched from a locked phone when call comes in there are no issues unless phone needs to be unlocked. Another issue is related to the speaker issue that then causes the mic recording light to stay on, or the mic in the Dynamic Island. If these particular issues could be resolved app could go back to 5 stars but at current it is quite atrocious.
Excellent POTS replacement
Was using ATT that was very expensive. Was able to keep my handsets at work and have app function for all calls. Wish texting allowed photos. I did not select texting option because of this.
Dead Since iOS18
App crashes upon launch after logging in the first time. iPhone 16 Pro with iOS18
Great but needs shortcuts or preferences
Love the ability to answer calls from anywhere. Wish there was a why to set preferences so you don’t have to press 4 buttons to transfer a call.
Answering a call sends caller to voicemail
New iPhone 15 with up to date iOS. Can make calls all day without issues. But you cannot answer any incoming calls. Any attempt to answer an incoming call sends the caller straight to voicemail. I have confirmed this on 3 other new iPhone 15’s in our company. Update: updated to newest version with no changes. I did send the logs and diagnostics as requested.

Does not work properly
This app is supposed to be used for making and receiving calls but does neither of those things. Every time I swipe to answer my phone the call is declined but also continues to ring at the same time. Sometimes it “answers” but there’s no audio and the phone continues to ring. I’ve deleted it, logged out, reported problems and sent diagnostics to no avail. Would not use this if it wasn’t required for work.
Microphone stays active
Tends to leave your microphone active. I notice constantly on the latest iOS that even after a call finishes the microphone is still active until I force the app closed. Users should beware that it may be listening to you and those around you. Pay attention to the Mic icon at the top of your phone.
Chat doesn’t sync correctly.
For an app supporting business, the chat is so unreliable it’s useless. SMS is more reliable! Constantly disconnects from server, does not sync historical chats, many missing chats. Use slack or teams instead.
iPhone 15 not working
Had an iPhone 12, used this flawlessly for almost a year. Now I have a new phone and it’s dropping calls continuously. My works IT is telling me I likely just need to wait. I can’t work efficiently if calls are dropping over and over.

Not Functional
My team and I share customer calls by placing them on hold. I am unable to pick these calls up from the app which chains me to traveling with my desk phone.
Fix for ‘Failed to connect’
So we always avoided using this app because of an annoying issue with it spitting a notification at you every hour that said ‘fail to connect’. It would go off and there was nothing you could do to fix it. While on a phone with a Cogeco rep, he said he noticed our refresh rate was set for the max uc for the equivalent seconds of 60mins or so. He said we just find that really annoying and changed it to 7days! I have tested it for 3 days now and it hasn’t done it once! Hope this may help some of you by fixing this with a technician. Doesn’t like an iPhone 12
I use it for work and have an iPhone 12, the program crashes when I open it, drops calls or doesn’t ring even though my desk phone does. I work in car sales and can’t spend every minute waiting by the desk. I’m on Wi-Fi, updated to IOS 16.2 and reinstall max crash on a regular basis. Very inconsistent performance.
Ring tone and volume
How can I change the ring tone and volume of the tone? Settings on my phone or within the portal don’t affect it so I’m very frustrated with the obnoxious loudness and tone. As for the call quality itself- usually great.

Works really well, I can take work calls from anywhere. I can see everyone’s extension, 4 digit dial them AND call from the app to have it look like I am calling from the office. Amazing
Does not use focus mode
The app ignores your focus mode and will ring no matter what
Loses connection rings 3 times randomly
App notifies you that it loses connection, buzzes phone 3 times, usually interrupting whatever you are doing. Happens multiple times daily. Very annoying. Need an update please!!
Call failed to connect alert
I get the Call failed to connect alert at least every hour. No call is coming through. It just alerts me all the time. Very irritating when using it for my job. I’ve reported it multiple times!!
Great App
Max UC is a solid app. Most of the issues people have with it are related to their internet or their service provider. As someone who works for an ISP and uses MAX UC for all work calls I have found it very effective. Metaswitch is good about fixing bugs if you submit a report to your telecom provider and a bug report within the app. For internet issues ping 1.1.1.1 -t in CMD or ping plotter on Windows or MTR/ping on Linux. Any dropped packets or major latency/jitter will cause issues with MAX UC that or the fault of the internet and not the app. All in all I think it is a great client.
Stopped Working
Since the update I am not able to consistently make calls and the users in our agency can no longer hear people when they receive calls through the app. I also can’t use the call back feature on missed calls.
Disaster
We have this app for my job and it is an absolute train wreck. The app does not feel functional and we have had problems with it throughout the organization. So much so that we are now getting rid of it. Developers, you need to do some work. This app is not convenient and has a lot of issues
Okay - a little unreliable
I like the idea of this app but some employees have transitioned to direct forwarding to their cell. Occasionally the app doesn’t even ring and calls just go to voicemail. Has potential and the desktop app is good but a different application. I would also like the option to park calls.

Can’t answer calls after recent iOS 17 update
Since the latest iOS update, I can’t answer calls anymore. They ring and say declined with I hit the answer button or it will say error answering call. As a remote employee, this is my only way of receiving company calls without giving clients my personal cell number so it’s quite frustrating for my clients that I can only call them back. Outgoing calls haven’t been an issue. I tried removing the app and redownloading, I’ve been through every app and apple setting. No dice.
Crappy app
I’ve been using this app for a while now and I absolutely hate it. It’s constantly “reconnecting” and interrupting what ever my phone is doing. I can’t even listen to music without it getting cut off every other song. I literally have to delete every day after work and redownload every morning. It’s a huge pain, but I have no other option.
Audio Drops
I’ve been using this app for 2 years with only minimal problems. Problems were always related to an iOS upgrade. However, for the past 2 weeks most all calls drop audio right at 1 minute. Exactly one minute. I have an iPhone 12 mini. iOS 15.1 Suggestions?

Apple Watch
Convenient app for when I’m not it the office. But cannot figure out how to get the calls to ring through on my Apple Watch, only get notifications for the missed call. Any ideas?
Amazing!
Allows me to make phone calls at home where I have no phone signal using my Internet connection. Works on the London underground too. I can also receive calls on my office number when I'm out of the office. The ability to jump calls between my registered clients and my cell service is incredibly useful. User interface is slick and intuitive and the call manager means I don't get disturbed by calls at night.
Metaswitch’s apathy since the Microsoft acquisition is evident
The messaging product is an absolute joke, no matter how many times you open tickets, provide debugging data, upgrade the AMS I still get duplicate push notifications, missed messages, and weird delays and inconsistencies, as do our customers. Even our account team meets with us on Teams instead of accession meeting (which by itself is a decent meeting app, few complaints there!) It’s a pity because every other part of the Metaswitch has been rock solid and great to work with, albeit expensive.
Failed to connect
After a year of using the app with no problem today I upgraded my Iphone to a new one and the new Iphone requested log in. I put my phone number and password numerous times but always ends up with same message: “Failed to connect. Check your network settings. “ Tried all kinds of mobile or wifi settings with no luck. It is funny as I can login problem free on my 2 backup android phones but cannot use it on either new or old Iphone. Now I am forced to carry an android phone with me when away from office to not miss a phone call.
