What people like
- Great for beginners learning Go basics
- Plenty of problems from easy to hard
- Free materials available to practice with
What they complain about
- English translations are poor and confusing
- User interface feels clunky and old
- Constantly asks you to rate the app
- Contains bugs and crashes frequently
Excellent game!
Well laid out, very beautiful graphics.
One time purchase not real!
I have paid my one time purchase $12.99 in 2021. But it doesn’t work anymore in 2026. No where to claim my purchase or claim refund.
It literally told me I was a failure... I love it
Lots of good problems from beginner to professional. Just cheaply built... But it's free so I shouldn't complain
有些题的答案特别抽象。
明明解答完了但是就要多一步无关的步骤全靠猜。为了卖答案？
I used to really like this app
All of my high scores and winning achievements were deleted. I’m devastated. lol. Taught me well though. Can’t understand the language but will start playing again to get back at the computer.
Very useful
I am using it to help my little girl Melody learn Weiqi. She is now 7 years old, and she enjoys playing it.
Poor English and bad UI
The English translation is pretty bad. The user interface could use a lot of work. Overall it feels pretty clunky. Probably needs time to fix the bugs and clean up the interactions.
Nice tool to learn the game.
Although there are glitches here and there, I still can use it to learn the game easily.
Take what you can get.
The problems are good for beginners, but the Engrish probably does more to keep this game shrouded in mystery even than the general lack of a decent network like chess.com etc.
Poor user interface, not very stable.
Text “hint” messages extend beyond dark message box, and are displayed in orange colour that is unreadable against colour of board. App closes without warning when changing settings.
Better than paid app!
This is a very good app for Go. Beginner-friendly
Poorly designed.
Not a good version.
Almost perfect, needs translations
Was looking for a good teaching app for Go and found this gem. Really happy about the simple exercises, and how you can start learning from situations right away. It is difficult to know what to do without an English translation though.
Review
Trying to learn the game but not free so can't really rate cause no clue what it is
Need settings
Great app. However the music might be annoying. Please add some settings in order to disable the music and change it for other options, e.g. clicks.
useful app for GO beginners
good quality with plenty of free materials to practice with
Doesn’t work
First time I run it, it crashed and then 2nd time it hung. Maybe they don’t support latest iOS on iPhone X
Great
I've played GO on and off in my life and own my own board and books but would still consider myself a beginner. This is a great app to flex your GO problem knowledge or just to kill a little time instead of playing mindless tap games. 4 stars just because it could be better translated and could explain the more complicated problems to help players incorporate the understanding of them to a real game. ^^5 stars if updated. All in all great though.
3x's U're out, Where's the $!
You get three attempts (at a game tutorial), then it shuts you down/locks out until you pay up!! With the cost of $4-$12, Meh, I don't think so!! 1) That is TOO SHORT a trial period for me to tell if I will like the App long-term; 2) At $4-$12, this App better do AMAZING things that I saw NO SIGN OF in the 3 Tutorials.
Liking it...
Good puzzles. Would be helpful to have captions no n English so I know the goal of the individual puzzle. And explanations of why these specific moves are used.
Excellent collection of go problems
As an AGA 3D I'm able to find plenty of problems that are reasonable from extremely easy to extremely hard. The English translations are so-so but usable.
Oh my this is aweful and ugly
Please make it stop, the English is terrible obviously not a native speaker and the controls are incredibly unintuitive
Good problems - needs translation
Good problems for beginners but not completely translated to English
Bad for English
There's tons of problems but even if you set the language to English the text above the problems as displayed in the preview remains the same. Also the English instructions don't sound very natural.
Not totally free
It is free for two or three problems, then u need to pay like 12 dollars for each problem sets. The sets are good, pay or not up to u, the app is not free with full function.
Great app for beginners
The app gives you progressively harder situations to solve. Pretty easy to use. Available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Don't Bother
Primitive app with poor English language, meant for Chinese people. Not worth the time / effort.
Pretty cool
I've only done the first lesson. Looks promising. I'm confused but feeling very Asian.
Good content - Bad app experience
Problem sets are good and plenty. The apps itself is quite not as satisfying. Interface is not fully in English. Typos and grammar mistakes are everywhere. UI is troublesome to use. Too many unnecessary buttons. The app is constantly asking for review (which is annoying, I would give more stars if it is not the case)
Good
Not the best possible Go app, but still a good download.
Good starter
It is a great app for people wanting to study Go. I like when frogman calls me failure.
dhsjdhd
wrong answer for lots of problems!
its ok game
if u want improve ur go skill this game is excellent could have been better with more explanation
Disappointing
Not much English and what there is doesn't make much sense. It's useful for learning the shapes but without instructions you have to guess at what to do. If you want to publish an app in the English language market it needs to be usable.
It's ok
It has a few bugs but overall it's decent
Great
Best tutorial I'm apps
Training not in English
Can't understand the objective for any of the training
Constant remind to rate
I will give 5 stars if they do not bother me to rate. Reasonable app
Could use work, content is good.
The English translations can use some work and the entire ui feels old and quickly done. Not the best but it's the best I can find.
In-app purchase does not remove ads. Actually, it does, I appologize.
I will support development, not advertisers.
Good!
Bkjjb
Stop
It keeps telling me to rate it
Good
Not bad
Below expectations
Strength: breadth of material, including many classic texts Weakness: -poor coverage of variations. In many of the later questions, only the "answer" in the original text is given, even though it is accompanied by comments that this "answer" has been found by modern pros to be incorrect. When you try out the modern answer, the program doesn't even cover that variation. Also, many important variations are omitted and sometimes they are strangely reused for later questions. - clear errors can occasionally be found even in the easy questions
有些答案非常可疑，并没解释清楚
有些答案不清不楚，虽说是答案，但下一步就推翻了 比如： Practice phase 2 Class 1 Problem 18. 没解释清楚不明不白
Amazing for Myself!
I am a national Baduk player in my schools district and I have been doing well because of this app. Thank you I appreciate this app and I give it 5/5 stars!내 학교 지구에서 국가 바둑 선수이고 나는 잘 때문에이 응용 프로그램의하고있다. 나는이 응용 프로그램을 감사하고 내가 그것을 5/5 별을 제공 주셔서 감사합니다!
Buggy
Weak UI. Got stuck half way through first series and it refused to progress to next puzzle. Maybe it works if you can read Chinese. I think all his friends rated the app
good!
good for learning!
Its okay
Some of the function needs to be improved like the game ad well! Teaching you the basic are okay but needs to be translated properly!
Ok
Not bad
