quitting
this is best app i've ever used, i've tried so many times to quit and failed without support. this app showed me how much i ruin my physical and mental health due to vaping. this is amazing i feel so confident within myself, i have a new mindset and the games on here for distractions, your body anatomy and evrything are so important to go through and learn about what your really doing to yourself , i really recommend this app if your determined to stop!
I’m hopless
I’ve not given up and need help!
Helpful
This actually works. Thanks for the support.
Was better before!
This app was great when it was simple, now every screen has animations, you have to wait for words to type out instead of just reading them… the look is good, the constant movement and ‘AI’ feel is not good!!
The update caused problems
I no longer have access to edit the start times of my quit journey. And now my app only displays incorrect information. I’m not sure why this was a part of the update but for myself personally, I do like to know exactly when I quit so I know exactly how long I’ve made it.
Smoke Free
I’ve been smoke free for 5 years and 6 months today.23/8/2026
App doesn’t load
It had been working great but all of a sudden yesterday, I cannot get past the load screen!
There is no ‘try’… there is ‘do’ or ‘not do’.
Love the comfort of app.
Very Basic
This is very basic. I would have imagined with the incredibly high percentage of the cost of cigarettes going to government coffers as tax, this app could be so much better.
Useful tool…when it works.
This app has been generally very helpful and motivating for me. I enjoy the community tab being able to talk to/read about other people on their quit journeys, the distraction me button is awesome, though I wish it was still on the home screen like it was before the update. Speaking of the update it broke my counter so instead of 37 days vape free it shows me as 5 days. Please please please fix the counter bug this previously was one of my favorite features before it broke. Would be rated higher if not for the unnecessary visual update that broke everything.
Mark
My QuitBuddy has been extremely helpful. Today is my Eighth day vape free.
Haven’t tried yet but yikes
So I haven’t tried the app yet but I wanted to try and get off the vapes so I figured this app would help first I was shown an add for this app 2000 times so I finally down load it and the first thing it asked is when do you plan to quit so I said 2 months from now after my trip to Bali that’s when I was planning to quit anyway but it just flat out wont let you put that in cos it more than 2
A great little app
A great example of how to make an app it’s user friendly with plenty of features and functionality lots of great information to help you stay on track. If I was to be a little critical my only option would be to add the ability to chat with other users rather than just being able to comment on their posts but that’s just my opinion. Overall this is a great little app well designed.
Not suited for vaping + inconvenient to add use/lapse
While this app is very good for smoking cessation, it isn’t suited to vaping re differences in pattern of use. Vapers do frequent bursts of “micropuffs” more continuously spread throughout day VS units (cigarettes) consumed over sessions. Also, number of buttons deincentivises recording lapse/use - “time smoke/vape free” less accurate making it poor motivation tool. Rest of tools excellent for behaviour change! Reassured that data secure as made by Australian government. Just needs to be optimised for vaping and tracking.
Deleted day count
Good app, but deleted the day count. I was nearing 3000 days and when I checked they had deleted the day count
Really helpful
Love the community. So encouraging.
Review when used on mobile
I have downloaded the app onto my phone as I want to quit vaping however it doesn’t appear to be made for mobile as the screen doesn’t show the continue button to set my goals and things….really disappointed I can’t use it
Great free app
The fact that this is a free app with no ads and no subscription or purchase requirements makes it a rare treat. Just those facts alone makes this app 4 stars. The older version I found better but I’m slowly getting used to the new look. Awesome app!
Disappointed
This was a great little app until the new update froze the app and then lost all f my history Frustrating because this app has motivated me to keep going smoke free for over a year now For this of you who are trying to give up… well done, stay strong, be proud of yourself for trying and never give up giving up smokes and vapes
so sad...
It's sad because this app could be amazing, it is easy to use, looks awesome, gives great tips, lil games to ocuppy your mind and hands, has the ability to connect you with other quiters so you feel very connected .. BUT Tthe cost of cigs is wrong and can't be adjusted giving the wrong savings amounts... which is a VERY big deal because most people want to see thier progress in dollars... The second big problem, it doesnt have a way to tell it what time you quit so unless you quit at midnight the hours not smoked are also wrong... These are two VERY BIG flaws..... I'm really hoping someone decides to fix this app, I check on it about every day.... soo sad.....
Excellent tool
This app has really helped me on my quitting journey. I’m 1 year in since giving up smoking and the daily reminders and motivation that this app provided has been key to that. Be honest with your reasons first quitting, set your danger times and read the notifications when they come - helped me to stay focused on achieving my goal. Even though I haven’t had a cigarette for over 12 months, the daily messages keep reminding me to stay on course and to be proud of what I’ve achieved. Can definitely recommend it as a valuable aid
Bug fix needed
Needs a bug fix. Can’t scroll down to continue after “change notifications in settings” no choice but to delete the app as you can go no further
Helpful but the new update still needs adjusting
Would be better if you could set a quit time for a planned date in the future, like a few days or a week away. This used to be possible before the app updated recently. At the moment you can only set your quit time / day on the actual day you quit, not a few days beforehand like you used to be able to do, so you can’t prepare ahead for your quit date :(
Not sure about this update
The old app was better. Make the milestone badges better!
add notification option for every hour?
hey been trying to quit for a month and that’s okay it takes time, but one suggestion, i’m awake nearly all hours of the day and night and i think having an option to receive a helpful encouragement every hour to help all the way throughout the day. other than that great app!
Tony
Hopeless app, can only go so far then freezes after telling you you’re all set to go, cannot add subtract or go anywhere, I need a smoke after this…

Latest update made all our days disappear
The app updated the other day. Check your community board, everyone’s daily streak has dropped significantly. Today is day 40 for me, but now says 9. There’s someone that was one year today her their app suddenly says day 30. Please fix

Your app doesn’t work Hopeless I wanted help and didn’t get it Pathetic
Great App that needs development!
Great App I love everything about it, I’m at 32 days off the smokes and their isn’t one day I don’t visit it for motivation. I’m curious to know why the MyQuitBuddy hasn’t tried developing this application a little more. I see a lot of potential for improvement.
You Don’t get Much
There aren’t a lot of benefits to the non-paid version of this app..It’s a money grab. You’re better off finding a free support group on Facebook..they’re out there!
Helps a lot
Really found this useful in celebrating my efforts. I became excited about watching my statistics grow. More money saved! More cigarettes avoided! A new kind of dopamine!
Boring and makes me want to smoke
This app is really old , and looks so tired . In fact it’s so boring I want to smoke more - I feel no motivation from this app. In fact I think it provides less than it did years ago . Do better
Love the App but Few Small Glitches
I think this app was a huge part of the reason i was so successful quitting cigarettes. I think Quitline really thought of everything when it came to making "My QuitBuddy" and i found myself using every feature in the app. Only thing i believes needs some working on is in the "Back me Up section". I am unable to choose a buddy from my contacts. Therefore that feature is useless i guess. But i still love the app and plan on keeping it a long time Kay C.
“An Incomplete App”
I guess its a good app if you never relapse, but if you do relapse, there doesn’t seem to be any way to enter in the app. It was very frustrating to see the notification “still going strong?” when the answer was no, and there was no way to provide the answer of no. I kept the app for quite a while despite relapsing several times, and i came to see the accumulated days of being “smoke free” as a vicious mockery. If there was simply an easy way to log the days where you slipped up, i think it’d be much easier to figure out what your triggers were, and ultimately it’d be easier to quit.
Got to say it works.
Thank you Australian Department of Health and Aging! This resource has helped me quit for good, when I was possibly the most addictive person in the world. The focus on First Nations Mob has made me stronger, give it a go! For the Elders and Ancestors…
Needs work
At present not impressed, I haven’t stopped at all, and when I put in the time I stuff up, there’s no record I can view, that may help to stop. It’s really just an inaccurate daily count, which doesn’t relate to anything.
Neat Idea
I was ready to quit smoking when I downloaded this app, so it's hard to objectively say how helpful it's been. (I was a diehard smoker for over 35 years, and this is my latest attempt to avoid cigarettes.) This app has built-in distractions (like mini-games), good progress tracking and a clean interface.
Screen freeze
I can’t use on iPhone 8 because the pages go past the bottom of my screen so I can’t move on no matter what I do! Maybe my phone is not the right match?
Very basic
Not helpful
Nice app
This is a nice app. The cons are-- you can't put in a past quit date (one month is maximum). The price of cigarettes is in Australian dollars and approximate. You can't enter the specific price you pay. Other than that- it's a well designed app.
