A huge upgrade!
Going digital and with the new app, makes a world of difference. The ui is great with full local news and no ads. Great work EDP
Do not subscribe
The description of this app is false. You cannot access the same content as online and the business behind it denies any responsibility for this when you try to complain. It is the worst customer service I have ever received - avoid.
A great step forward
I’m really impressed with the app (v16.1). I’ve never liked the EDP’s web version, but find this much better. Thing I’d like to see improved: — Resume my place in an article when returning to the app. — Links to past stories should open in the app rather than in my browser. — Photos should be zoomable. On the website I can at least expand the display to see more detail. — Comments should sync with those on the website.
Unreliable
Once again today's edition has refused to load. I have deleted and reinstalled the app as has been suggested before to no avail. PLEASE SORT THIS PROBLEM OUT!
Linking account a problem.,
Tried to link account to ID etc. but hopeless. Also no facility to read letters.
New Subscription
I just paid for a years subscription but the app won’t allow me access. It keeps saying access denied. I can open it on safari but it defeats the object of the app.
App now awful
This app never was great but latest version is just terrible. Wrong pictures, appalling grammar (is there no proof reading?) and asks for login every time despite having a subscription. Web site much better so why bother with the app?
Print edition
I like to read the print edition of the newspaper but it is available later than it used to be. There some good things on the app like the puzzles but the rest of the news comes up on Facebook any way.
Basic alternative to a print copy
It's okay, but is essentially a PDF of the newspaper. It does have some sponsored clickable adverts to take you to their web pages but doesn't have interactive magazine qualities that are available for iPad. I bought this initially for the property section, however, that section is classed as a pull-out and isn't included. It's not a bad quick read type of app, but it isn't one of the best either.
Why have I lost the EDP
I have lost the EDP on my phone why ? The problem solved but only after verbal instructions from a help desk Lady at the EDP. The Developer should have included navigation instructions when the default change occurred. Better still give advice in advance before activating the new format which left Customers to find a way to get back to the full EDP and not even knowing if it was possible. Really poor marketing leaving us floundering.
Unstable
Unstable. Continous errors.
Cbjen
This really works well for me. It was good to trial five days free as I could really see if it worked. Also you can access the usual free supplements,(Sport, Weekend, Financial news etc). I am very satisfied with this app.
EDP
We are VERY disappointed with the new format of the paper available on our iPads. Marks out of 10.……………“0” Please revert back to your old version.
E edition
What is the matter with this app? It keeps on telling me I am not subscribed when I am. I cannot read the e edition on the day but I can read yesterday’s and past editions. Why wait until tomorrow to read todays e edition. I have removed the app and reloaded it but it still doesn’t work properly. It’s a nonsense.
The ‘New Look’ digital EDP+
I used to enjoy reading the EDP online every morning wherever I was in the world. The new version is not so easy to read, instead of flowing from page to page we have to choose which features to look at. The original version was like an old friend and I for one, found it so much easier to read. What prompted the change and were the readers asked at any point for their views. Sorry to be so negative but I am not happy with it. David Osborne
E Edition
Pay to subscribe to read e edition which you would expect to be available to read on the the morning and not wait until later to read it. Is it unreasonable to expect to view it at 07.00??????
Poor customer service from the EDP
Took an hour trying to find how to get the digital edition back on my 87 year old mother’s iPad. Shame on you EDP making such a big change without sending out a helpful email. She’s been without her paper for over 2 weeks before she finally asked for my help.
New app - is poor
Very clunky to sign into the EDP every day and if you do not finish reading in one hit you need to resign in - not a patch on the old app which I signed up to and have paid for.
No
Please bring the paper or I’ll have to cancel this is rubbish
Terrible
Not the same, this change has ruined the character of the paper. I do not like it at all. If I could get it delivered promptly on time each day I would give this poor version up. You cannot rely on delivery which is why I moved to electronic version now this has changed I doubt I will renew. Very poor.
Appalling error prone upgrade
App does not update and keeps freezing. Did no one test the upgrade before it was released!!
