What people like
- Actually helps improve your game
- Good for practicing casino play
- Cheaper than most other apps
What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Strategy advice is sometimes wrong
- Free credits run out fast
The game makes you better.
It's one of the only games that actually helped me understand and play the game better. great company to do that. too many other apps want to charge you a lot of money to get the tutor. This is the best app in the store.
Scam ads
This app keeps sending me to safari where im told an iphone has been charged to my credit card or many other different scams!
Betting
Would be perfect if it allowed higher bets. To practice betting too
Deuces wid
I held a queen jack suited and it said I was wrong. Then the combo comes up a bit later that I don’t keep and it says I am wrong. I held only a deuce and It said I was wrong. Then the example comes up showing I held three cards that I did not do and to only hold the deuce in the analyzer. That made me delete the app.
Doesn’t account for Max Bet Royal Flush EV
It’s a great tool but with a fatal flaw. It appears to use the same optimal play based on single bet and not take into account of the Royal Flush bonus at max play. For example, when deal AQJ with AJ suited, it recommends holding the unsuited QJ. This would be the correct play if you weren’t playing max bet but everyone should know max bet with the RF bonus is the only way to play VP for maximum odds. And under max bet, the proper hold woild be the suited AJ. As a trainer to prepare players for actual optimum play, this is pretty bad. I also wish the payout adjustment could be fine tuned to match actual casion variations but that’s just a wish list item.
Best VP poker available
Great VP trainer that doesn’t require a purchase. Since I started using it for Deuces Wild I’ve seen a noticeable difference when playing live at casinos.
Apple Games?
I get hassled to do something with Apple Games every time I start to play. I’m paying for this. Enough with this add-on garbage.
Great for training!
Overall this is my favorite VP app to learn on. The level of feedback and guidance is changeable to your preferences. It is limited in the number variations that can be played however, but limited options may be preferred so as not to be overwhelmed by choices. The look and feel of the game itself could use some updating; It’s not what you’ll find in an actual casino. Such as a Game King device. Absolutely recommend this app be a part of your training though!
Ok
Fantastic idea, beautifully designed. One huge problem though, they recommend incorrect moves. For example, they recommend you hold a two pair in deuces wild rather than just a pair. If accurate statistics are presented, this would be the best of the video poker apps.
Still see ads
Just downloaded the app and purchased it. The statement for purchasing the app says never see ads again. Yet I still see ads. Seems to be an excellent app but they should stand by what they say.
A pretty solid tutor
Even before I ponied up for the cheap yearly unlimited, the ads were not too bad. I like the interface.
Basic strategy wildly wrong for double bonus
The trainer gives wildly wrong advice for the double bonus game telling me to hold KJ unsuited over 4 to an inside straight with 2 high cards. That is a massive blunder which makes me think their entire EV strategy calculations are wrong.
Tutor gonna Tutor
Decent practicing for the casino.
Just okay
Come on! 48 hours between credits, really? Totally lame. Just tell everyone your app costs $4.99 and be done with it!!!!
Good strategy
The strategy taught is very good but limited play without a purchase. I just wanted to learn how to play and not buy a phone app. Not enough time to learn much.
iPhone Rotation?
Great app for learning how to play but I have one question. On earlier iPhones I had, I could rotate the phone and the play orientation could either be horizontal or vertical. Now the play is just vertical. My phone orientation is unlocked and there’s nothing in the app regarding changing the orientation. Any hints?
Ranks low pairs incorrectly.
This app incorrectly ranks low pair as more valuable than 4 card flush. Took a screenshot and confirmed with the many video poker charts available. There was no other way to contact the developer and this flaw will prevent me from purchasing this app.
What if?
I like the game. I have always wondered an outcome had I played correctly. Sometimes when I rush on vp in Vegas i have made mistakes. Sometimes I have deviated from perfect play on a hunch. It is nice to know "what if". I just got this app and haven"t put it down. It is nice to know i still have a high 90 percentage play.
I have to Pay for credit? REALLY?
I downloaded this app for training purpose but I was surprised to find out that u have to pay for credits to continue playing. Absolutely Absurd!!! Not worth it when u have to pay for fake credits just to practice. Come on!! I suppose that this is not a real poker game; if it is....then it's illegal.
Annoying FULL SCREEN Solitaire Popup
One of the nicer looking ones. Some of the “tutor’s” choices are questionable though. I don’t mind adware but that full screen pop-up for Solitaire that you have to click on the X to get back to playing is a bit much. Since they want you to buy credits, can you sell them back when you have excess? Will find something else to play.
Great App
Play this a lot and it is great. Took me a while to figure out why certain hands get played differently since there are no given reasons. However, after paying some attention you can figure out why sometimes is best to keep K and 10 suited or sometimes it’s best to only keep the K. In my opinion, this is a much better way to learn then going to a strategy card.
Don’t Pay!
Don’t pay for unlimited coins and no ads! I did and it has reverted back to the original game as if I hadn’t paid.
Excellent!
Great trainer. Only wish it could be made to not show you when you get a winning draw. Otherwise cool.
Optional tricky hands only mode
Love this app. Can we have an optimal/paid mode where it only gives tricky hands that test your knowledge? Skip all the easy ones.
Ads still persist - #annoy
Bought in-app upgrade long ago, and now I have ads again. V3.5 Fix this! Despite the developer comment below, it is not fixed. Paid for app - should have no ads. ————— A year later STILL can’t get rid of ads
Good fun
Great tutor
The only thing I done like
Is every once in a while they wipe your point clean. 3 times I had over 10,000 point and they took them and left me with 0 points. Other than that I love this app and play it all the time.
Crap
Once I ran out of credits I either had to buy more or wait two days. No thank you
Just what I needed!
Nice! I've been able to refine my strategy and consistently win more. I get to prepare for the real thing without losing bundles of money while practising.
VP Tutor I’d great!
Great way to learn how to play Video Poker. It also has all of the odds tables and game stats.
Dreadful
Completely unintuitive
Royal Flush
I’ve been playing this game for awhile and have not received a royal flush. Four of a kinds are not often achieved. I do enjoy playing.
good trainer
Use it to ckeck my way of playing. Picking up a few ideas on better ways to play. Good learning tool and fun to play.
