I feel like i wasted my money on a game that doesn’t have controller support. The game is cool but i cant enjoy it being forced to play on screen only. Thats the only downside for me. Controller support lacking makes the game almost unplayable.

My review
So, I’m assuming that you came here as a big Mega Man X fan, like me. Capcom tells little to nothing about other things that I have figured out and am going to tell you now. First thing is the Hadouken. The Hadouken is still in this game, you still just have to get all the items (all the armor upgrades, health upgrades e.t.c.) but, instead of it not carrying over into a password, this port has a built in save system which will save the Hadouken and pretty much everything else in the game. That’s as good of a transition as any to move on to the save system. Like I mentioned before, it saves everything, including the Sigma Stages! And, it lets you select which ever stage you want to play after unlocking it, so you can play Sigma Stage 3 and then go back to 1 if you would like. Lastly, I wanted to talk about the Game Center additions. There are 60 achievements to get, including beating the game without any items or upgrades and 59 more. They also added 4 different modes to compete in, (which all have their own leaderboard) from Score Attack to speed running the different stages, you’ll find one you’re good at. (Btw, I’m apparently in the top 1% of players in Score Attack, so I don’t know if I’m too good or no one wants to play this… So I’ll leave it to you whether or not you want to pay the 5 bucks (which I got for 99 cents on a HUGE sale) for this port. If you’re coming here to experience Mega Man X for the first time, just buy the Legacy Collection.
Its not compatible with controller
I bought this game because i wanted to play it on my new “steelseries nimbus+ controller”. But is not compatible at all! I wonder if capcom will ever update it for iphone xr or new ipad air 2019. I love the game but it is annoying that capcom knows exactly this game came out for snes and always used controller to play it. If you please update the app for the controller system compatibility it will be another story! Thanks for nothing capcom! 😒

How on earth could any developer possibly think this game would be even fractionally as enjoyable without controller support???? I was over the moon when I found Mega Man on the App Store, then I find it only supports touch controls. If they released all the old MM games (OG, X series, Zero Series, Legends series, Command Mission, etc.), I would happily pay even App Store prices for all of them; but, controller support, you’ve got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One star until this is resolved. Lifelong fan, it pains me to give this rating.
Not Spectacular, but it’s fun.
I absolutely adore the original SNES version of course, but this “remaster” is lacking in a lot of ways, I won’t get too into it since anything bad I’ve gotta say about this pretty much everyone else has already stated, but for a mobile game it’s definitely pretty cool and I do have a lot of fun with it. Something that has kinda bummed me out is that the “enhancements” shop appears to be down/unavailable on IOS and I really wanted to purchase the arranged BGMs, but oh well maybe it’ll be back up soon it’s fine. Do I recommend this, If you like Mega Man X, yeah sure it’s a cute little mobile de-make of the spectacular original it’s sure to keep you busy passing time and whatnot.
X’s running animation looks like a slideshow
The game is good it’s just not a super full remake since the graphics look quite pixelated areas and the moving animations. There’s only three animations for each of them which makes it look very weird, but the game is still good.

I must say I am very disappointed that this version has had a graphics makeover. The old school pixel art is way cooler than those smoother graphics. Please at least give the players the option to switch between original and ‘modern’ graphics.

Great game and love that it’s on my iPhone. Only thing that would make this game perfect and 5 stars is if they updated it and put the controls on the outside of the playing screen. If the joystick and jump, blaster buttons were on the outside of the playing screen so your thumbs aren’t on the screen you see as you play it would make the game perfect.
Worse than original
The camera doesn’t scroll very far, and instead cuts to black for a moment, and then to the next scene. Why couldn’t you guys do what you did for megaman mobile? Just make the an almost exact port of the game.
Good but don't feel right
I have not played the original version but when I saw it on the App Store I had to try it out. It seems good but thing don't seem right. The controls aren't as good as i have heard and I thought you had to hold to shoot button to charge the gun. The auto charge doesn't seem right and when I turn it off it only fires the 3 burst. Do I have to unlock the charge thing? I don't know, I with it would tell me.

Worth the price, but a butchered port sadly
As a hardcore MMX fan, owning the game for the SNES and also the Super Famicom, this game falls short, but we are lucky to even have this available to us. The touch controls are terrible, but its all we have so you will just have to get used to them. I noticed that sometimes you will hit the "jump" button, the button will light up but X won't jump, which killed me a few times while playing through the game.. That to me, is a pretty big flaw, how could they f#<¥ that up? The graphics, in my opinion don't look as nice as the original.. I dunno, they look unpolished, but its doable. First world problems. One thing that was another huge flaw is that beating a particular level will cause another level to be affected (eg. Penguins stage is supposed to freeze Mammoths stage over), however you will not see that in this port. Wtf right?? That was kind of a big deal, if they could do that in the 90's then why not in this generation? One more negative to add is that the enemies are much easier to kill, even on harder difficulty levels, which takes away from the challenge, but with these touch pad controls, maybe its necessary. Also, gamers of this generation don't seem to be as "hardcore", as games back in the day were typically much more difficult and didn't hold your hand with annoying and long tutorials. So there are some problems.. Its not as good as the original MMX, but hey, its still MegaMan X and its one of the best games out there, even today. Its fun, its fast passed and action packed. It has cool bosses, interesting level designs, hidden secrets, upgrades and has one of the most incredible soundtracks of any game. Buy it, play it, and enjoy the ride. If you don't you are missing out.

I'm really disappointed in this port because i was expecting the original art style and this was very unsettling. The only way to save this app is an art style change and better animations.

The original on SNES was known for its ultra tight controls and they're needed for the difficulty of this game. The touch doesn't cut it but if you have an iOS controller you're set.

After beating this game so many times the fact that it reminds you of the old systems and play styles is great.

This is a Megaman game. That means controls are pretty important as the level design and boss fights are MADE to require precision and accuracy. I can use my backbone with just about any other mobile port of console games on my phone, so the fact that I can’t use it for this one makes no sense at all.

Make it cleaner
If you are going to make a Mega Man X2 using this graphic style, make it at the very least cleaner. That aside, fun game.
