Game is broken
Because contact to developers is challenging, this is where I will post. The game is broken. Every game I play it malfunctions and then I lose. Please fix this.
Malware?
Tried playing this today, it demanded an update. Installed the update and when I started it again it displayed fake warnings about “viruses found” with the usual “click here for details”. Of course I didn’t click there, I deleted the game from my phone.

Game for bug exploiters
I like this game but with one big caveat. There is an unresolved bug that allows opponents to time out when they’re on the brink of losing and after a while somehow it’s me that’s lost the game. The developers ask the players to send evidence by recording or something similar. Of course that’s not possible given it doesn’t happen often. This isn’t the first time someone’s complained about this exact issue. You need to sort this out!
Freezes phone
Fun game but it locks up the entire phone, can’t even shut phone down. All updates installed and have even deleted the app and downloaded it again. Too bad, fun game.

Good to play, but freezes frequently
I love the simplicity of this game, and enjoy this app very much. However, it freezes frequently and the menu and new buttons don’t work - so have to force shut the app and start every few games…. Please fix if possible.
App crashes constantly
The app crashes constantly - often times right after a win where the app shuts down. Half the time it doesn’t record the win, or it records a win as a loss. There should also be an audible countdown when your time is almost up. When you’re focused on the board, a silent clock is a real headache. I lost several games I would have otherwise won because the clock timed out while I was planning 2-3 moves ahead.
Fun, BUT…
Jesus Christ at the ads!!! Play one game and suffer through at least THREE ads. Delete engaged.
Apps broken
Edit: it doesn’t happen on mobile data network. I’ve not experienced any issues with my ISP, but Othello is somehow glitchy. Hopefully, it’s intermittent. The app has been broken for a few days. ***** After making a few valid moves I get a message that I lost. I’ve been enjoying it for a f couple of years, pretty much every day. Please fix this weird issue.

Cluttered With Ads
I’ve been using this app for many years, but I’ve stopped using it because of the nonstop deluge of ads that has made the game unusable. Despite the developers promising to fix the situation with the endless stream of ads, the game is still plagued by them. This includes a long unskippable ad before you’re able to play. AVOID DOWNLOADING, you will regret it if you do.
Frozen Screen
Update- software updated by developer 1 week ago- First game I played and it froze again. Dang it! FIX IT!!!! I love this app but over the last month it has been freezing up regardless of where I am located and if I am on wifi or cellular data. My percentages have gotten skewed as a result of not finishing games. Also, the ads are very annoying. I am moving to a paid app.

Time limit on a strategy game is ridiculous

The app used to work and have some issues sometimes, but now it work sometimes it freezes most of the time have reported the issues with videos and screenshots. Nothing has been done.

Every Release Brings More Bugs
I love this game, and I really enjoy playing online opponents using this app. For this is has worked OK for a long time.. but recently it’s got to the point of frustration as more bugs creep in. Frequently you’ll enter a game that is totally blank.. this has been the case for years. More recently, the game will freeze mid game (often mid animation or a turning tile) and this will render your phone unusable for about 5-10 seconds . Add to that the proliferation of robot opponents when you should be playing other humans and this game can’t score more than two. If they fixed the bugs it would be a four out of five, but given how long these bugs have been around, I wouldn’t hold my breath
Frustrating game issues
I have had this game for years, probably more than 10 yrs. I have stuck with it through multiple bugs, knowing developers need time and real game play to work through issues. However it is getting beyond frustrating to deal with the crashes that I am convinced are tied to cheaters and sore losers. I have sent videos to support of the weird freezing and such that happens very coincidentally only when and opponent seems likely to lose. My stats have been greatly affected by the intentional crashes experienced. After finally getting more friends and family willing to learn and play I can’t in good conscience recommend a game with these issues that seem to be ignored by developers and the support team. After reading reviews I am not alone in these cheating issues. Sad.

This is an excellent version of the classic game, good options great graphics and fun to play
Freezes in the middle of the game
In the middle of the game, the screen will freeze and you will have to close out of the app and watch another 30 second ad to play another game. Are we trying to get more ad revenue? Does this occur on the paid version?
Fairness
Find it’s good game but some moves unfair as when u start to win u are sent message that u miss a turn and corners hardly ever goes to u . Set to loose
I love the game but it freezes constantly
I love this game. I love the layout. But it constantly freezes while playing. There seems to be some sort of memory leak in the game that even causes my phone to stop responding to touch. I reached out to the developer and they said it was a known issue. I’ve waited for weeks, hoping they would get it fixed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it’s getting fixed. It’s very sad.

Online play crashes
I have played 110 games on my iPhone X over WiFi. 9 of those are recorded as losses, but only one was a legitimate loss. The other losses were due to the app crashing - so approximately 7% of the time, the game crashes. I also have not been able to figure out how to challenge to a rematch or how to challenge an opponent I’d like to play again. You can add a “friend” - which I have done for the few people I have crossed who seem to know the strategy - but it seems that any attempts to challenge go undelivered or ignored. There is no way of knowing one way or the other as pressing the button seems to do nothing and leaves you with a random player for an opponent. Also, the random opponent seems to be people of any skill level. It doesn’t seem to try to match people by skill levels. This may be due to a lack of suitable match being on at the time of course. That being said. I’m still playing! Edit: Thank you for the update/explanation! I have had a recent spate of crashes (usually right as the game begins). Out of 198 played, I have had 18 crashes, so now well above your 5% goal. I have tried closing all other apps and restarting to see if that resolves the problem, but the last five attempts to play in a row crashed. Best wishes. Edit May 25: Thanks for getting back again. This communication alone is exceptional! By crashing, I mean the app disappears from view. When I swipe up, I sometimes can still see the app running, but when I click on the window, it behaves as though it’s a fresh start - loading to the main menu. I’m not sure if this is a proper crash or a disconnect. I did reboot before my last edit, but it didn’t seem to help. I played again earlier, and crashes dropped significantly so perhaps it was just a server blip. Thanks for your help!
Bugs/cheating
Constant bugs and freezing causing you to lose right in the middle of a game. Also rampant cheating in which some players cause you to time out even though it’s their turn.
Good Game
Way too many ads. Like a truly ridiculous amount of ads. You play one match, there’s an ad. You open the app, there’s an ad. You start a new game, there’s an ad. This game is only fun when you rewind all of your moves before you win, so you can replay without being interrupted. There is zero reason such a simple app should have so many interruptions.

I use this game for over 10 years. Lately, it became a disaster. I had no choice but to delete and reinstall the game. After that I can’t login back to my profile. But reinstalling didn’t help. Every other game is either freezing or crashing. Please fix it!!!

Adding friends is not easy
I can’t search up my mothers username. It comes up blank. Can’t figure out how to add buddies. I’m not on Facebook so maybe that’s the problem. Please make it easier to add friends.
Addictive!
Good implementation of Othello. It plays mean at the higher levels so it is a proper opponent for you to hone your skills on.
Too many ads
I’ve had this app for a long time. Recently I’ve been forced to quit playing as I can not stand the constant stream of ads that run. All game apps seem to fall for ad profits at the expense of their users.

Ads without data
Loved this game until it updated and I have turned off data and every option that I could and I still get adds. Sick being extorted to pay to get rid of something that’s annoying so deleted it gets.
Good game but spoiled by constant, long ads
I like the game and the difficulty level is much better than others but the constant, long ads mean I can’t keep this app. I would much rather pay a small amount to remove adverts but I can’t seem to find an option for this.

Glitchy at times
Platform can be quite unstable. One game in every ten freezes or never gets started. Online timer also seems extremely short for a strategy game. You could easily double the time available without it dragging. Personally it also bugs me when opponents just quit when they believe they’ve lost. Have the decency to play it out! But I love the simplicity and find the tactics very challenging.
