Go blues!
Love this app shows scores of all of the NHL games and which channels they’re on.
NHL staff ignorant
Hard to read when staff makes obvious errors. Today, for just one example, staff writes Cutter Gauthier might get an offer sheet. He is ineligible for one. DUH.🙄 Do better.
Awesome App For Keeping Up With Hockey, One Complaint
I use this app almost every day during the hockey season! The schedule prevents me from having to search for a schedule on google and risk getting a virus on my device from tapping on links. The amount of features are impressive. Top players to watch for the upcoming game, the goaltending stats, and the next games between those two teams to name just a few. The roster is, personally, the best part but it’s also the worst part right now. The app tends to glitch, at least for me, after almost every update. It was the schedule that didn’t work before but this time, it’s the roster. It doesn’t let me go back any seasons at all, which it’s meant to. I recommend getting that fixed. The problem is usually solved within a few days or one update but this is taking its time. App is recommended though!
Crash
Please fix crash issue. When opened, it just sits on logo screen for 30 seconds and then crashes. Will not open. Already deleted and reinstalled and still the same.
Too many adds and promotions!
I love the app, it’s great and I check it every day. However, lately I’m seeing more and more adds and promotions in every corner. Please don’t ruin the app by polluting it everywhere with flashy and intrusive adds — please keep it reasonable or you will lose viewers like me. If it adds would be kept to a minimum, I would give this app 5 stars.
article titles “bad”
editorial style where every article title includes a 1-3 word quote called “ridiculous”
Love Hockey
Can improve the TV? very hard to follow the puck on television. Can you use AI to highlight the puck so that we can watch it better on television?
Love the play-by-play
Play by play is easily my favorite feature. It works for any game. I’ve even used it at the rink before while watching a live game. I’d like to see a “news” section but the play by play and the radio functions alone make this free app worth it.
Privacy options
I have to reject cookies anew every day. Can we please just keep my cookie setting requests persistent!!
playoffs format issue and refresh
No joke, this is my favourite app but the fact that all regular season stats just disappear once the playoffs start is just infuriating and so impractical. Also, if it could be possible to lighten/darken the eliminated teams from the playoffs in the team and player stats just like in the bracket could make the app so much better cause now it is just confusing. In addition to that, I find the app in general kinda slow to update score and points/stats live during a game (differential, assists mentions, live activities score, etc.) and the general stats take a while to update after a game is over too. Please fix these, it would make the app 100% better!
Team goal songs
For the team goal songs, some are good, but some are… not as good as I was expecting. Like Philly sounds like Boston? And San Jose’s horn sounds like a ship horn. New Jersey’s horn is so loud. But Montreal, Minnesota, and Chicago are 10/10. Please fix some of the team horns
Cookies
App consistently asks for cookie permission? I am using the app, not the website, so why are you asking?
Enough with the cookies
Every time I click on something, a message always comes up asking me to accept cookies. I must’ve done this 10 times in the last two days. Enough with the cookies— so very annoying to get asked this every time I click on something.
Replays
In the last two seasons the NHL app has cut the replays to end 1 second after the puck goes in the net. No break down, no replay. They are getting lazy.
Ok
The app is good, but the condensed games and replays dont show the fights. Therefore i go to sport net for all the recaps which is inconvenient
Great app
Love this app helps me keep track of things and I love checking stats of players
Roster Doesn’t Load
Sure would be nice to look at individual players in the roster during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but player pages don’t load. Insanely frustrating. This app used to be good.
NHL hockey
The only reason it’s a 4 star is cause I can’t watch videos on it and otherwise it would be a three star please fix it. I need to watch hockey videos please get back to me
Give us the full replay too
NHL. You guys need to go back to showing the goals scored but then giving us like 30 seconds of replay after that. Not just “he scores!” And then cut… bring the full clip back immediately.
Where is Liquid Glass?
…
Amazing app just signs me out
When the season ends it signs me out and at the beginning of every season I have to sign back in it would be a great help if you guys could and would fix this issue (kinda optional) but otherwise five stars all the way keep up the great work guys thanks for the great app bye.
Apple TV
Ever since the last update the Apple TV app is horrendous. Audio drops out mid replay. The ui stays on the screen while watching clips. App was way better before this update. Love the iPhone and iPad versions. But please do something about this.
Stats timeline missing
Love this app & the new detailed stats tab but hate that they removed the option to watch stats for previous season or playoffs. Would’ve rated 5.
TV app starts recaps at last second
Since the latest update, the TV app starts the game recaps at the last second of the clip, and you need to click “start from the beginning” every time, needing to be quick enough to pause it first before another ad starts. Annoying and reveals the score / outcome prematurely.
Usually good but….
There’s 1:15 left in the third of this Rangers vs Nashville game, why does the app say it’s the second intermission? It’s doing the same thing for the leafs game vs the stars too…. Wildly behind. I literally have no issues with this app, I love this app, I use this app probably way too much, I’m just so confused as to why it’s this absurdly behind?
Very useful
I’ve been using this app for a little while now and I’m very satisfied with how user friendly it is, you can put your favorite team on the front of the app witch is really awesome and check the schedule of your team though the season
Ads filling the screen?
If I get video ads filling my screen with TJ Oshie when I scroll down, I am gonna be deleting this app very soon.
Good but slow
Just need to get updates in real time. Your delay is horrible for app standards.
team logo wont show up on app screen
this app is garabge. so i changed the app logo to flyers and but its still the nhl logo. i have reinstalled the app and restared my phone. same results same nhl logo.
Persistent ads = delete
I tried to watch a 5 minute recap. After getting served the normal 30 second ad at the beginning, i noticed at the bottom, there were ads spanning the entire bottom of the screen for the entire 5 minutes. It cycled the same 3 ads. This is obtrusive and takes away from the user experience. Greedy. I overall enjoy the app so I’m not going to delete it just yet but unless this is fixed I’ll delete the app. I understand ads are needed to make money but the sheer onslaught of them has got to stop.
Gambling
EDIT: Shortly after I left this review something changed and now your selection remains. Changed my review from 2/5 to 5/5. I wish there was a way to permanently hide the gambling information. There is a toggle to hide the odds, however it defaults to "on" and you have to manually turn it off every time you open the app.
Great League, Bad App
Please fix the Apple TV app. There are too many basic playback bugs for an app representing a major professional sports league. Videos often start at the end instead of the beginning. The scroll/progress bar sometimes never disappears, leaving the entire video with a dark tint over it. Those are just a couple examples, but the overall Apple TV experience is frustrating and unreliable. I have been trying to get friends into hockey and recommended the app as a good place to start. Unfortunately, the feedback I have received, and what I have seen firsthand, is that the app is a poor experience. If the league is serious about growing the game, the app needs to feel professional, polished, and easy to use. With the amount of sponsorship money visible across the league, there is no excuse for such a rough product. The NFL would never tolerate an app experience this bad, and the NHL should not either.
Fixes/Updates
Really wish the app can and will be updated to be able to separate teams into different notification categories, instead of being grouped altogether into one. Other sports app do it (FotMob for example) I’m sure this one can as well Would also be nice to get notifications back for when the game has officially started, and the end of each period and the end of the game as well (Just like it used to be until it was removed/changed for some odd reason) Please add these and this app would be even that much better!
Ugly layout / works but ugly
The ui has to be the most atrocious set up I have ever seen. Why is there vertical and horizontal scrolling? There are not visual aesthetics to it. It looks like a baseball app got resurfaced with NHL teams.
not authorized
Got in to this last year and loved it this year the game is not working i have a red banner saying “not authorized” but hopefully there's a bug fix soon until then it's a three star
Needs notifications for Olympic hockey
App works great. I just want to have the notifications for national teams during the Olympics. Also, why is there not an option to have air horns as the notification sound? It’d be even better if it was our home stadium’s horn for our favorite team.
Standings
Update your standings faster. Your own website and app are a day behind on updating the standings.
Streams work well, some suggestions
Highlight vids work well, game info presentation works well for me. Suggestion: could we get a banner on team homepages that gives the team’s record and position in the division or conference? I shouldn’t have to navigate away from the home page of the team for that basic info. Also, in schedule, do we really need the preseason games? At least make them a different colour so it’s obvious. Nobody cares about those results anyway.
A shame there is t an alternative
Is this interface intentional? In my experience it’s buggy / lags constantly- never fully loads - stats are hard to find look up, if it’s responding at all - between this and having to have 4 services to watch games it’s clear Gary and the NHL hates its fans
Can’t use the stats section
Love the app been using it for a while but lately I can’t open the stats section, everytime I try the app freezes and it just never works Please look into it if possible. Thanks !
man is it nice to have an app that just works
i mean that’s the whole thing. the UI is perfect, there’s not so may ads i can’t see anything, no annoying pop ups, every type of information or media you could want for every team, and pretty much everything is clickable if you want more information. it’s so perfectly functional and helpful it’s insane. every app should be this good.
Ad creep
Ugh you are making a fantastic app worse with the banner ad creep. Can I pay to make these go away?
Its getting better
Still would like live activities as other major sports leagues support it… Update: They added it! It does work (sometimes), it seems to be delayed compared to Apple Sports and sometimes doesn’t even update at all. Hope it’s fixed relatively soon as it shows the time to the next period.
NHL preferences laid bare
In 2025 there should be a daily tracker on MacKinnon and the Avs. True to form, the nhl “writers” feature tue Oilers and whichever market is failing, aka, Seattle. The news coverage is poor, the writing quality less so. Best use of this app is for scores. Period.
Time zone issue
Very good until new update regarding time zones outside North America. App now shows what time the game will start in ET but before showed when in would start in your countries time zone. As someone currently living in England it’s annoying to have to convert the time when I want to see when a game starts. The original time zone system was much better.
NHL
Love the app. I watch all of the weird NHLs in the morning and they make my day. Plz make more!!!
Horrifically bad since the NHL took this over from individual teams……
I’ve been going back-and-forth with NHL support regarding the app. I can’t get any notifications on my phone Regarding game starts, goals, end of period or beginning of period, Scores, etc. I’ve gone around and around with them. Multiple emails back-and-forth with those solutions to the problem.
New year new issues.
As usual each fall they break a perfectly good app and then take till Christmas to bring it back to a good user experience and interface . And a reminder that midnight in eastern time zone might make it the next day there but’s it’s still evening in the rest of North America. Having to keep choosing the previous day to see scores of games still in progress is silly. How about just reading the local time of the device you are installed on. And the stats tab layout is silly, having to click on the small blue arrow to see the list of players per stat is a poor ux.
Fix Stats Freezing
App always freezes after I go to click on the stats category. Fix it.
Poor upgrade
The latest version has better fonts but is not as user-friendly as the previous and has too many pop-ups. But still a reliable source of official NHL news.
