I also decided to delete the app for that reason. It seemed like every few seconds or a couple of minutes my text messages were going off!

Not able to find news. Too scrambled. Did not think you could make it worse but you did. Not going to use app anymore. Good luck! I will delete! Update 8/23/26: I am old and married and FEMALE! Dating ads are very offensive to me! Stop pushing dating!! Have an off button to stop this!!
Advertising
I know you have to have advertisers to function but sometimes when I am trying to listen to a news report the advertising keeps Playing in the background at the same time! VERY distracting! Please fix this glitch

Ads overwhelm the news so I avoid using apps for news.
Notification issue with upgraded app
Since the app upgraded, I now show a notification on the icon but cannot find a notification. I have clicked on every clickable category and even deleted and reinstalled the app but there is still a “1” by the icon. And the share icon has stopped working

Thank you for the Weather app. I was in the tornado and 2011 in Alberta city in Tuscaloosa Alabama. I appreciate it very very much.
Bad streaming App
I don’t know why you had to ruin a decent thing but you did. Now you have to jump through too many hoops just to get to the live streaming for the news and even then there’s so many ads or plaintiff attys ads in the way just trying to click on the correct selection
Good app
I love this app for all the news locally but being half blind the small print is hard to read. Please increase the font or add a feature where the readers can increase the font.
Stop Objective Reporting!!
I’ve been a regular viewer of this local news station for quite some time, and I genuinely enjoy staying informed through your daily broadcasts. However, I’ve recently noticed a shift in the tone and presentation of certain stories that feels more aligned with specific political perspectives. As a viewer, I value balanced, fact-based reporting that allows individuals to form their own opinions. Lately, some segments seem to lean toward promoting particular policies or ideological viewpoints rather than simply presenting the facts. This can make it difficult to distinguish between objective reporting and commentary. Local news plays an important role in the community, and with that comes a responsibility to remain as neutral and unbiased as possible. There are already countless sources of opinion and influence—what many viewers are looking for is straightforward, factual information. I hope to see a return to more neutral, fact-driven reporting moving forward, as I would truly like to continue watching and supporting this station.

Overbearing ads
I have always enjoyed being able to open the app and get quick access to current news stories. In recent times though these new ads that take multiple clicks to get cleared off before I can open the app or go story to story have gotten ridiculous. If these type of ads continue I will delete your app and go to another news outlet that doesn’t bombard me with game and unnecessary ads .

I have always enjoyed receiving the periodic news alerts from this app. But lately the ads have been out of control. These gaming ads pop up and you can’t simply click the “X” to get rid of it. Extremely annoying. I come to the app to find quick news updates, but lately find myself regretting that I even opened the notification.

Full page ads are the worst
After several attempts to have them change the way they present full page ads, I am going to turn off all notifications and use another news source. These ads are for various games that cannot be dismissed without triggering the App Store to open. Then once you close the App Store there is an option to dismiss the ad. I understand the need for revenue for this free service but it’s gotten out of hand. I love my FOX6 news team and I will continue to watch them on TV but apparently their leadership is seeking ad revenue above viewer’s loyalty to the point that I won’t be using their news app.
Online news app.
Whenever I try to use the Six on Your Side news app to watch the newscast at night, on weekends, or on holidays, it is unavailable, and I receive a station on the West Coast. I don't know if the staff at those times are not competent or just don't care, but it has rendered it useless to me. The weather app is okay.
I can stand the new layout!!
I can’t stand the new app layout. It is awful trying to find stuff. I won’t be using it.
Tired of the clickbait notifications
Not that anyone pays attention to these comments, but I feel compelled to say I’m pretty much done with this app. I like getting headline notifications, but they are always teasers that require you to have to open the app to find out any useful details, and with that you have to sit through ads to finally get to the story, and most times if you have to watch the associated video to really find out what they’re talking about you have to sit through more ads after which in most cases takes you to a video that isn’t even related. Tired of all that. I don’t have time to go through all this just to find out what the headline is actually about. The Channel 13 app will send notifications with actual details in it and then I can choose if I want to know more and open their app. Channel 6 just wants you to open it simply to find out what they’re even talking about so they can make $$ by pushing ads on you. I get that, but it’s seriously annoying, time consuming and on too many occasions I never do find out what it is about - or find it was something that was hardly worth the effort to find out. I’ll have to rely on Ch.13 for notifications that actually tell me something without all the hassle.
Alerts
I like & prefer to have Fox 6 WBRC as my news & weather source. So of course when the app became available I downloaded it. I did choose the option for notifications & allowed those to be sent to me via text message. Unfortunately the much softer, lower volume alert tone has changed in volume & tone & is much too loud for me to continue get the notifications. I can’t be the only one who’s complained about this change.

The ads are like that overly enthusiastic friend who barges in when you're trying to enjoy a quiet evening. I'm here for the latest news, not some app shouting, "Download this game to save the universe!" Seriously, I didn’t sign up for intergalactic warfare—just give me my headlines!
Annoying new alert sound
The new alert sound is very loud and annoying. I always appreciated getting breaking news, but this new alert sounds is awful. I have adjusted to limit the alerts I get, would be great if there was an option for silent alerts. If this keeps up I will not be getting any more alerts.
New app not pleasant to use
Downloaded updated app and it is a nightmare. It’s become more about ads everywhere than news. Why can’t we opt out of these continuous ads. Will probably delete this app.
Notifications
On iOS when you click a notification about a story, it clears the rest of them. Very frustrating to then have to go find the other stories.
Volume Issue
The app does not allow you to turn off volume for the ads that pop up! Settings should have an option allowing you to mute the volume on all ads and videos!
Meh
Auto start ads are loud and annoying. Can’t turn them off. Liked it better before.
