Great app for Paragliding
I have been using this app for many years to plan my flights and find new paragliding sites. It's very comprehensive providing everything you need to enjoy good flights - weather forecast, thermal forecasts, site details, locations, photos.
Ohne zuvor nachzufragen. Absolut unprofessionell!
Good place to start
It’s a great reference for launch sites and weather
Not all necessary informations included
How can you specify a starting location just by wind and daylight ? Right now, you declare „Tegelberg“ as flyable .. Foggy, rainy and you can see only 50 meters away
Spot on
I found this to be useful while traveling as to give some insight when I’m not quite sure and a great forecast , I find it to be super reliable with little error
Was kostet die volle Nutzung?
Great local knowledge
Some sites have really good information in local knowledge others have little sites, you should game apply the app so people who give more reviews post more pictures. Get some sort of recognition, either on social media or with the app that would encourage more participation and uploading of the information.
A régler !
Fine
Interface could use an update. Not much site info in my area (AK.)
Excellent App
I started using this App in 2023 before my first to France. I loved it and its ease of use as well as its compilation of data. I continued to use it when back in the US and traveling to new sites. Then in Mexico and again in France this summer of 2024. I love it! And, like the author above, I emailed Craig about a support issue and got an excellent and prompt response and help from him. Highly recommended for all levels of pilots!
Useless without the expensive subscription
This app is a nice idea, but it's totally useless without the subscription which is definitely too expensive for casual pilots.
Please update design
For recent iPhone generations.
Weird stuff
Hit the “write a review” Icon and was dumped in the middle of someone’s attempt at writing a review, had to send it myself to be able to start my own review? Weird! Now for more suggestions, since we pilots like to travel around a lot, it would be helpful if the developer would add contact information for local instructors and anyone apt to give site intros. Also local flight clubs for the purpose of supporting the club and making sure we are keeping up with local restrictions. Also the locations where gear may be obtained? This option may encourage input from local instructors and club members who want their services to be more readily available.
Must Have App For Pilots
This has been my go to app for paragliding since as long as I can remember. Always up to date w/ great features and customer support. Highly recommend for those just getting into the sport as well as those that have been flying for years. 10/10!
Annoying Ads, Useless App
I installed this app to check it out. The first thing it did was to show me a 5 second pop up ad which repeats every so often. The app seems to have no information about several sites near me that I know are in use. Overall this app is not worth it.
Abo deutlich zu teuer!
Gute App.
App Good Support very bad
Shows wind barbs
I have to admit, I don’t use this for paragliding. I use it mainly to show wind speed and direction with standard wind barbs. There have been some issues in past releases, but this one works great! I’m super happy.
Great app
One of my go-to apps before heading out to a site.
Used to be good
This used to be the best. I even had a Pro subscription. Seems they got greedy. Raised the price to nearly 5/mo and apparently canceled grandfathered in subs. Now the app shows ridiculously invasive ads about every 60 seconds if you don’t have Pro. I understand developing costs, to charge 5/mo for the mostly user submitted info from this app. Not cool.
Winddirections from Windfinder are not very reliable, (test-) subscription can’t be cancelled
It’s rather annoying standing on a take-off site with a very different wind direction most of the time as predicted by Windfinder (used by this app). Luckily we didn’t trust these predictions and went there, flying several times ... And as I now wanted to stop my 7-day test-subscription I was not able to. The hyperlink in the app to manage the subscription doesn’t do anything at all. Bug or a nasty way to get at least the subscription-fee for one year?
Paragliding app
I like this app to find new places around me to paraglide or ground handle,if there is any issues that you my have,Craig will certainly make things right!
Inaccurate
App is never accurate, currently says Spring Hill is flyable with 4km wind and 6km gusts. Wind talker on the hill says 35km winds gusting up to 45km.
Nothing enabled on trial version. 😒 LAME
This app seems like it has some potential, but I can’t really sort out whether it’s worth keeping it—much less paying for it. It’s basically a map database with launch sites, LZ’s, webcams, and even thermals marked, as well as a future flyability (forecast) function ...theoretically. The problem is that the trial/free version has too many features disabled to assess it (basically all those I mentioned, plus no topo/terrain maps, satellite maps, etc.). So, unless you do a 7-day trial with automatic subscription renewal unless you cancel, you basically just have the simple map from Google with a bunch of pins in it. For someone with cursory knowledge of local launch sites, the trial version of this app has LESS information than simply going online to look at ParaglindingEarth or government maps and checking weather. So, as one could imagine, I’m DEFINITELY not going to go for a 7-day free trial with automatic subscription renewal just to see if it does anything more useful. I was actually interested in the webcams too, since I wasn’t aware of one of them at a local spot. If dev would do something like temporarily allowing all features of the app without forcing people to do that dumb 7-day automatic renewal thing, I’d say there might be a good thing here. I’ll never know because I’m not interested in getting roped into a subscription just to find out. *Delete*
Wind finder
Not bad as a site map, with little bits of info on each site, will not let me in to windfinder thou. (Error 404)
Great support!
Just got the app and have checked it out but not used it for flying yet, but had some difficulty installing it and had one on one support throughout the process, which never happens when you download an app these days!
paraglider traveller must have app.
NO LONGER FREE - I’d restored my purchase but it won’t let me look at any info now - I’m thinking only with monthly 2.99€ subscription. I hate subscriptions and it’s certainly a big ask when only needing it on a rare occasion. “Where to fly” app better. Unfortunately there are many sites not added, closed or have missing info’s. Making editing easily WITHIN THE APP is not possible. The app edit opens the main website, where registration is required, it’s complex with no immediate results. So it still remains behind the times of today’s apps.
Great!
The best way to have Paraglidingearth on the iPhone! Sometimes the icon fly able/non-fly able don't match the text info, so make sure to tap on the icon to see the text data.
Great support, great App!
I have been using the App for two years now and it has helped me greatly planning my travels for unknown flying sites and choosing depending on actual weather. I recently had an issue with the App and emailed Craig. He fixed the issue almost instantly and was incredibly helpful. This is a « must have » for paragliding pilots. Well worth the subscription!
Be aware rip off, not able to unsubscribe
Unsubscribe function does not work under iOS IPhone 8+ with latest iOS. Do not subscribe unless you want to pay forever!
Simple, helpful and easy to use
Nice app that gives a quick indication (not to be confused with a detailed weather report!) of whether a site is likely flyable in a given day.
Nouvelle version moins pratique
Great app, with great support
It was very useful app for us to pick the right spots when we’ve flown in Austria last week. I also like that the app has a great support as all my questions and minor issues was answered and resolved in 12 hours.
Less than zero!
You can’t unnsubscribe through there app. I keep getting charged monthly! The app is a piece of trash!
Hmmmm
Locates sites OK but very iffy on using wind conditions to say if it is fly able or not. Generally not.
It's not bad but...
It could just be a bug on my app but Dunstable downs isn't by the A12, where it is wrongly placed on the map. Overall very good. Happy landings!!
Amazing!
It's almost freaky how it knows of launches nobody should really know about. What a great tool to find new launches!
Lost when moving to new phone
Every app I own transferred to my new phone except this one. I was told I'd need to redownload with my original Apple ID or I'd have to repurchase it - I have no idea what that original ID was.
Hmmm
Pretty neat app! I checked on 2 local sites(120+ miles away) and both had been updated in the past hour. Wish there was an iPad version. Also if it was tailored to all powerless flight groups instead of just paragliding, that would be even better. For all intents and purposes, it works! I want to give 5 stars, but gave 4 due to the reasons stated above. But it is very close to getting all 5! Keep up the good work!
Fehler
