What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- App crashes and glitches often
- Hard to manage vacation stops
- Local coverage feels unbalanced
Reliable source
Great place for local news and the USA today for national topics and sports, equals a great combination
Inconsistent information.
The app is often out of date does not contain the same information such as from other sources like Apple news. I’m a northjersey.com subscriber. Why am I not getting the same information?
Hard to use. I pay and I am somehow in wrong place and I amAsked to be a subscriber but I am
App hard to use always confusing. Not like reading a paper
Too many Ads
It’s hard to read and navigate through the app with all the ads.
Hard to navigate
The app used to be better. I’m simply trying to suspend delivery for vacation and can no longer find the link. Using the magnifying glass to search, only goes to articles. This is so annoying!
North Jersey Record
Enjoy every day!
Bad. Just bad.
Glitched, constantly needing to “restore my purchase”. Delete it and rebuild from scratch.
Great Publication.
Enjoying the publication. And I hope that the corrective points I’m making will be taken seriously for review and possibly used to enhance the publication. The enewspaper should allow the reader to rate each article. This process would allow a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t. That way, the publisher would be getting real time feedback. That I where YouTube gets its feedback from.
Old vs new app
The old app with the green R symbol was much better then the new revised North Jersey app the replaced it. The new app constantly crashes and has to restart while trying to read the E-edition newspaper. Plus ads com up and you have to wait for a period of time before you can close them and resume reading the paper. It is frustrating and terrible. FIX THE NEW APP!
Not enough news
Give us a local section on Saturdays
My morning start!
My husband and I always enjoyed our morning paper with our coffee. When he went on dialysis five years ago, we switched to the online edition. He has since passed, but I continue to enjoy The Record and even print out the puzzles to keep my mind active. So, thank you for the many years of keeping me well informed and entertained.
Terrible app!
I can never get on this app !!
Words Run Together
Sometimes several words run together (ex: andsaidtheir) in local articles.
Saved article limit
I am a subscriber, yet the app only lets me save a maximum of 10 articles. That’s beyond ridiculous!
The record
Why are there so many articles bout Paterson and so many food reviews for Montclair? You would think that the area from Rutherford to Hackensack didn’t exist. Please be more inclusive so that all of your circulation areas can be served equally.
Only Buy In The APPLE STORE!
I was buying this directly for YEARS. North Jersey news was billing me $19.99 PER MONTH!!! It’s great. A newspaper has actual editors, writers, proofreaders. North Jersey News is a great source.
Where’s the News?
Seems like there are almost always columns by Record writers such as Charles Stiles marked as “opinion”. How about reporting the actual news and publishing those articles on the Opinion/Editorial section.
Not Quite Like a Real Newspaper
While it’s not like reading a real newspaper, and it doesn’t have the old features and great comics of the old Bergen Record, the on-line version is not a bad substitute for the real paper. Once you get your fingers used to dancing around your iPad you can breeze through it with no problem. It has a nice feature where you place two fingers on an article and it comes up in very easy to read print that even allows you to print out the article or send it out in email. But there’s nothing like the feel of the real paper.
Margins beyond iPhone screen
Too many articles reach beyond the iPhone screen margins. Changing the font size does NOT correct the issue. This renders articles too ‘chopped up’ to properly read. The left and right side margins are cut off. Please investigate and fix in your next update.
Love getting the news online.
Great getting news online. Love the notifications !,
Retired
Happy with newspaper on line. It’s always there and ez to read.
Lousy website. Takes to long to get in and constant changes to passwords
Pay a lot of money for nothing
Improvement
The Record’s local coverage has improved significantly in the last couple of years.
Too repetitive
This is a pretty good app but is very repetitive. It needs more up-date stories instead of repeating older ones to fill space
Great newsletter
Well laid out. Easy to read
Terrible
Hasn't worked in over a week. My husband shares his account with me yet I can't access. Called and were told they are updating their app and to give it a few days. How about just fix your app. What are we paying for?
Great convenience
Love having the digital version of the paper and recycling is way down!
Confused
Very confused, can I have my old newspaper back. I m 83, I’ll dead before I figure it out, HELP
Great read!
Enjoy reading the “Paper” online, very convenient! And interesting articles
Can't find anything!
Simple requests like suspend delivery aren't present. Why? HOW DO I DO VACATION STOPS? (The easy way is to cancel my subscription.)
Always a pleasure
I’ve been reading this newspaper for over 40 years. I always got the paper delivered but a few years ago I just thought it was a lot easier to get the app. App is easy to use and I don’t have to go down the driveway every morning to get the paper. Always interesting articles. Thank you.
App locked on iPad Cust Svc cannot fix
App works on iPhone but not on iPad. Says acct locked on iPad. No one can unlock it??? spent hours on phone with Cust Svc who keep resetting acct but it does not clear. Also tried Apple but the say it is third party app & to reach to app developer. Frustrated still cannot get app to work.
Just like getting a paper delivered.
As a very long time daily paper reader, I was hooked on print editions over the years. Now that I am much older I find it hard to covert to the new formats. By providing your print version, I am back home again, thank you
Not appealing at all
Readers of The Record have been forced to use the NorthJersey app. It is unlike reading the newspaper and not an enjoyable experience.
