Great
Really enjoy all the local news!
RGJ app never updates in time
It updates hours and hours after you want to read that days newspaper online. You cannot figure out how to get the current date’s paper to update….but you can read yesterday’s paper today!
Miss my real paper newspaper
I moved to the enewspaper because of the inconsistency of the home delivery I miss holding a real newspaper in my hands and turning the pages. The RGJ seems to do a good job of reporting local news and I enjoy the national news section that comes at the end
App Crashes
The app has become totally unstable. I have to sign in again and then the app freezes. Then I have to delete the app and download again. Usually it works after this, but sometimes not. Terrible.
Obituary
I am a subscriber and have not been able to have the obituary page draw the iPhone screen. Half the reason I take the eNews is for the Obituary. It has been several weeks since I have been able to see the obits.
Reno gazette
It is a good paper that I read on my iPad every morning.
App and Business Mgmt is as bad as the paper itself.
RGJ wants subscribers but the website to subscribe is full of amateurish errors and it’s obvious management hasn’t used it and IT hasn’t fully tested it to make it user friendly. Yes, “user friendly” makes it easy for subscribers to sign up for your 2 day old news. Call me and I’ll walk you through the issues. And then there is the privacy options on the app. RGJ must be bleeding cash, partly because of their non-user friendly subscription page so ALL privacy options are hard set to Allow Always and can’t be changed. Not just the functional ones, ALL of them. Why provide an option page if options don’t exist? Bad management is the first rock to turn over and look under. I quit. It was just to hard. Management can call me and I’ll give you details, for free, and not two days later, because the RGJ should be a better.
Poor quality
Half the time I get nothing but a white screen when I open to the news section.
Navigation suddenly stinks
For years this site was the model of consistency. Recently that changed. It now jumps around, gets lost, jumps from Articles to full page and freezes. I once told the Denver Gazette to look at your system and copy it. No longer.
My daily read
Just like reading the good old newspaper!
Awful
Despite subscribing and paying for a full year in advance I am unable to read the RGJ via the app. It fails to recognize my log in as a subscriber.
Very buggy and overly complicated!
The latest app version as combined the two different versions (e-newspaper and online internet) and is very buggy and harder to navigate! I liked the older version where you could just open the e-newspaper directly and it opened and offered to open the latest daily version. It rarely asked for your login subscription. Now, it takes multiple clicks to get there (when the app is working) and requires multiple sign ins get the e-newspaper. It apparently doesn’t keep you logged in from day to day. You also can’t refresh the download to correct blurry images and comics. Today I got a message that the app “wasn’t working properly and try again later”. I would recommend an optional setting that prioritizes the e-newspaper upon opening the app. It also has separated the USA Today and RGJ versions which also requires additional navigation clicks to view where the old version just had the USA Today follow the RGJ e-newspaper automatically.
Liked the old print edition better
The old print edition enabled me to look at one page at a time. This new app is really frustrating to use. Keeps changing whats displatedcwhen i try to enlarge the type. All in all just bring back the older print edition app. Today 1/17/24 I found the app to be really unstable and unsuited for being called a newspaper. Finally ditched trying to read it and the USA version.
Happy to have a local paper
I like to have a local paper, albeit much smaller than it once was. We need to support local journalism
Can’t Keep iTunes Subscription Working
Is it stupidity or just a lack of concern. Who knows. My iTunes Subscription consistently fails to be recognized by this app. All of the buttons & links to reconnect your iTunes Subscription to the app do absolutely nothing!
Easy to use
Easy app to navigate and use. Recommend for anyone looking for newspaper app.
Can’t seem to link to subscriber information
About once a month the app starts saying I can only read a few more articles despite the fact I have automatic payments to RGJ.

Annoying and left-leaning. No longer looks lie newspaper
Horrible and left-leaning. Delivers yesterdays content (it’s Friday, but showing Thursday’s issue). Newer app software for iPad not compatible with my iPad. Keeps asking me to make settings to customize my experience. I just want the. Nline equivalent of the Newspaper.
Great quick review
Paper has good content. Sad part is some is a day late…
Confusing
Trying to just open the newspaper online with normal newspaper layout
Rgj
Overall I love rgj it has lots of news of Reno and it’s easy to read
This app is horrible!
This app used to be clunky, but now it’s horrid on the iPhone. Hard to navigate and unclear how to get what you want to see. It works okayish on the iPad.
Thank you
Thank you local journalists for local news.
Shady auto renewal
The app never seemed to let me get into it without going to through full sign in, which wasn’t awful, but kind of an irritation. Later, they auto renewed for a way more expensive rate and cancellation was difficult to do on the app. It’s unclear how they came up with the price for the renewal. Update: they keep charging me despite assuring me they canceled my account.
Local newspapers
We need to support local papers and journalists. I depend on RGJ .
Crappy app!
Screen keeps freezing…probably due to ads that pop up. Won’t load current e-edition!!!!!
Review
A must read to stay informed on what’s happening in the Truckee Meadows and Northern Nevada.
RGJ e-edition orthless
This is one of the worst apps I use. Constant problems. Little news of value. Keep it only to be aware of anything of local value.
