Thoughtful, smooth and effective
I use many tools and tactics to subside ADHD and exec dysfunction. This has quickly proven to be the most efficacious.
Worth It? I'd Say So.
If speed reading is something you want to work towards, then for me, as of now, this is the best application I've come across. Although, I haven't tried many or really any other ones. Reading speed has always been something I've been interested in, but comprehension has become (and should) something that I equally am looking to improve. I've attained 5 stars on every exercise within a couple weeks. I've found this app useful in helping me to read without reading it in my head. On my own, I basically came to the conclusion that if I wanted to read faster, I would need to read and process more than one (or a couple) words at a time. It helps that my memory has always been one that partially works like a photograph. I can picture numbers, words, colors, etc., fairly well and have an above average retention of memories. It's not as "cool" as it sounds. There are times I feel it's not a positive thing and hate it.. Note, it's not a "photographic memory"...There is no such thing. I'm not a genius or savant of some kind. I'm not successful because of how my memory works whatsoever. Intellectually or physically above average people are above average in most endeavors pertaining to that trait. The people that become great though ALWAYS are the hardest working. That is something I wish I knew a lot sooner in life. As long as you are able to comprehend what the goal of this is, are willing to practice evey day and within the correct framework, and have reasonable expectations, then you will be satisfied with Reading Trainer. This has been my personal progress in the almost three weeks I have used this: - I read 500-515 WpM (Words per Minute). I started at 375-400. - My comprehension is 80%, although I feel it's nowhere near where I want it to be. Comprehension is the only thing that really matters. Otherwise, there is no point in reading. When I actually read something, not skim, I do not worry about speed. It's much less than 500+ WpM. I just simply stated what metrics I reached on this app. Whether it translates to real world application...Only time will tell. This app is not magic or a secret. You get what YOU put in. Know that the idea that someone can flip the pages of a book and finish in seconds...That is complete fiction. So temper your expectations if you think that you could possibly develop the ability to do anything close to that. I hope this was helpful to those interested and I wish you success.

Understanding Speed Reading
I signed up for this app with the one year commitment. The app teaches you first, reasons why you may read slowly. Next it gives you exercises to become a more fluent reader. The only thing I do not like about this program is, the very distracting flashing hints on the exercises without an option to turn it off.
Love this app!
I truly love this app, so far it’s been great to help me develop my reading without underchallenging or overstimulating me. I feel like every task I do has a clear reason and they’re thoughtfully spaced out between one another. I appreciate the clear communication as to what objectives we are trying to target. I do feel myself progressing in a relatively short amount of time. I’d love to purchase a lifetime subscription, but the price as of now definitely forces me to practice habitually to feel real improvement by the end of the 3 months I paid for. My single nitpick so far (not really a criticism)— please change the names for your milestones. I read 140ish wpm and know that I’m novice so, though I appreciate the support, you can’t label the milestone “Reading PHD” when I’m only 22 Units in (which is only 4 days worth of practicing). I believe they level up way too early and it is the only part of the user experience that bothers me.
No free trial to evaluate
Just the first unit is free so I cannot really tell if their approach is going to be effective. Completing one unit had no difference and no way I’m paying after just that.
Really like the app, with some suggestions for improvement
This is the best app I have seen for improving reading speed and comprehension. I like how it not only encourages reading speed but improves precise interpretation/observations such has making you focus on small variation in word spelling and letter grouping. There are some sections where numbers a flipped extremely fast but sentences very slow. It seems intuitive that sentences should be moved faster also. It would help if one could upload material and have app force faster reading and comprehension from “real world” documents to improve studying. I imagine with AI coming that will likely occur. I use this almost every day but have not seen the improvement in speed and retention others report. My reading speed with retained comprehension has been about 50 wPm in the one month i have used it. Still now shabby for someone approaching 80. Hope this also fights dementia!!!
Too. Much. Money.
Tried the app, but immediately am pulled into what looks like an auto renewing recurring type money thievery. I don’t like that auto pay bull shucks. Deleted immediately. Plus the article I read said $2.99. Yeah, no. Also lovin the ai responses.
App store
I’d gladly pay for a lifetime membership
I’ll gladly pay upwards 100s for a lifetime membership. I invested a one time $175 payment that have for lifetime membership of the extremely popular Learning app “Elevate” which they offer. I hope you guys adopt the same business model. I would buy in a heartbeat. Sadly, I have quite a few yearly & monthly subscriptions that are more essential to my life. Which lead to me, to canceling my reading trainer membership after my one year subscription had ran its course.
Too expensive
$14 a month for such a simple app is insane. I’d gladly spend maybe $5 one time or something, but there’s no way I’m going willing to subscribe monthly for this.

Worth it!
As a teacher, I not only suggest this app to my students, but I would highly recommend and encourage them to use this app. If you are preparing for timed/standardized tests, this app is a MUST.
Only 2 exercises unless you pay every month
Requires a monthly subscription fee to do anything past the first two exercises. I downloaded this app when it was featured as free for the day instead of $2.99. They apparently changed it to now be a subscription app so listing it as free was misleading. I absolutely loathe apps that make you pay every single month for eternity. Deleted.
Would like it… but…
I get the need for subscriptions. It’s in order to make money, but as a student who cannot afford to purchase subscriptions like these, it makes it difficult. Sometimes I wish that apps were like duolingo where you could still access the features that make the app worth using (with ads), and subscriptions were for very special features. This app has nothing to help someone who is attempting to learn speed reading if you want it to be free. The most that I could get out of this app is an increased understanding of word searches which was not what I was trying to accomplish when downloading this app.
Favourote app for years, but 2.0 is buggy....
Been using the app for years. But after downloading 2.0 - quite disappointed. Very buggy and slow, both iPad and iPhone. 15seconds to wait for an exercise to open... or an exercise over in 1/3 of the time. Hope it all gets resolved asap. Thanks
Not good! Costs too much for an exercise when i can search for it in the internet!
Very bad, that you came back and made this app cost 10$ each month for a set of exercises which are NOT UNIQUE! Even one star is too much for your app!
Downloaded yesterday
Asking for a review after 1 day? Too funny. This app makes my brain hurt, which is good.
Great for Dyslexia, Discalculia, and Being Fast!
I’ve actually taught speed reading and I appreciate the potential of an app that helps with screen speed reading, which is different than techniques for printed word. However, I have dyscalculia, which is like dyslexia but for numbers, and I question the veracity of basing much of your score off of finding numbers among numbers, which I would argue is an unrealistic skill to need in almost any field. Yes, numbers are important, but finding them in a sea of other numbers is not a skill I’ve ever needed, and doesn’t seem relevant to the goal of reading text on screens faster and more effectively. Otherwise, a useful app. UPDATE: I stand corrected! I’ve noticed a huge difference in how quickly I perceive numbers and how quickly I read! I’m so impressed, I can’t recommend this app enough.
While it says “Free” but exactly…
While it says “Free” for a limited time but it is asking for a paid subscription. Looks like I am in a guest status. What kind of confusing stuff is this? Note: I regularly update my review/rating for this application.
Great reading app
Not only it has helped me to read better it helped me to improve my English as this is my second language. Please try it you won't regret it.
V2 noch ausbaufähig
Ich mochte V1 vom Design her lieber.
Excellent!!!, I hope version will remain useable or be updated
I love this app. In one week I’ve nearly doubled my reading speed AND, at the same time, am comprehending more of what I read. The exercises are well designed and the power reading feature where I can practice my speed with copied text is also useful. My only concern is that it’s been 3 years since the last update. I hope that either this current version will continue to work on future versions of iOS, or that the developers will update when needed. A+, well worth the $3.
Doesn’t support iPhone X or Xs
The UI doesn’t support iPhone X or Xs
Great eye opener
My work in the lab involves counting and retaining images under the microscope. This app increases my reflexes and helps develop the eye-brain connection. Thanks!
Please update the app for iPhone 11 max
The image of the screen does not match the iPhone display
Great app!
I was looking for something exactly like this. I can’t get enough of reading now. My reading speed increased only after a few days of regular exercising, but also I have a clearer comprehension, which increases my enjoyment from reading.
Buggy
Wish I could get a refund. Very very buggy! And what I could use I thought was boring. Disappointing.
Interactive & Challenging
Fun exercises that challenge and push the limits for you to think, recognize and distinguish at a progressively faster pace. Time will only tell is this app will help me read faster.
Ansonsten gut!
