What people like
- Works great for remote volume control
- Useful for checking requests while away
- Good for playing samples from phone
What they complain about
- Keeps crashing when you open it
- Hard to connect to your computer
- Drains battery really fast on iPad
- Missing basic controls like the fader
Cutting Edge Technology
I tested out all the features while connected to each of my laptops. You can literally see and respond to song requests, search on Deezer or your library, start and stop automix. Move songs on the playlist. You can even turn down the music too or turn up the music. It would be perfect for you for if you’re sitting at dinner at a wedding and you wanted to check on your list to make sure the music isn’t going to stop.
Not working with last iOS update
Please update the APP TO BE ABLE TO USE WHAT WE PAID FOR

Worked one day but not the next
The first day I got it it worked amazing then I try to use it again and now it won’t load
Fader for Sampler.
Where did the fader go for the samples page. This was really handy to have the ability to fade out the samples from the iPad as you could use it along side a controller and have all your samples on it like a sound board. You could then use the fader to fade the sample out but it’s gone!!!! Bring back the fader please!!😭

No me funciona
No me quiere dejar abrir la aplicación
Worked fine but then stopped
I used this app for a bit after purchasing and it was great I was having a lot of fun but then a few months later I went to use it and when I open the app it just shows a dark grey screen and nothing happens. I have tried restarting my iPad, deleting and redownloading the app, literally everything and it still does not work at all. I am very frustrated as I spent money on this app for it to work once and then not even let me into the actual app now.
VirtualDJ 2025 is not working well.
Please update this app! I love VirtualDJ but this remote has been losing connection and crashing wayyy too much- especially with the new 2025 Mac App.
Update please
Needs updates
New update = Better Performance
I love the new update, just what I needed.
App broken
The app will not load since the update. It just shows a black screen and does nothing.
I changed my mind
I like it now that I’ve gotten time to use it connects to my laptop so if needed can control from my phone
Issues
App Freezes ” Waiting for virtual dj connection …. “
An Amazing App That is Neglected.
This app is or rather, WAS amazing when it first launched. However, it has been neglected over the years by the developers & is slowly becoming obsolete with the latest version of iPad OS as of writing this (15.1). Waveforms fail to appear at times, & the default skin looks dated on newer model iPads & the library view leaves a lot to be desired. I’m giving it a 3 star review because the functionality of the app is wonderful & is still very rock solid in stability. I also see the potential of this app as well if the dev team would just give it the love & care it deserves. If there is a massive overhaul I will come back & update my review here.
Wonderful App!
This app is totally wonderful and for those who want’s to buy this app, just ignore the negative reviews. Also, always remember to check to see if the devices and Virtual DJ software that you are using is compatible with this app, if not, then check for an update. If all else fails, go check your Wi-Fi connection. P.S. I am not a paid reviewer.
Do not buy
It never worked, all I got was a message saying: waiting for virtual Dj connection. The app does not work
Keine Verbindung zu VDJ mit IPhone 16 möglich
Ich bekomme nur die Meldung: Waiting for connection obwohl in VDJ neueste Version alles korrekt eingestellt ist. ( Mac OS 15.2) Für was bezahlt man hier 10.- ??? Das ist unverschämt
Why is not on Vision Pro?
This is the perfect companion to test the functionality of the remote. Be the pioneer on the virtual world and the physical one. Let’s goooo…. Just authorize the app for us to test it.
Needs work
For playing tracks, searching and adding songs works just fine. But the browser needs work. Clicking a folder or list doesn’t open as expected you have to swipe right, not intuitive. You can’t load a playlist into the side list or auto mix. You can’t move files around within the side list or automix. You can’t select more than one song to add to a side list or automix. You can’t jump to another song. If you double click a song I’d expect that to play straight away but does nothing. For £8.99 I’d expect a lot more functions.
Virtual DJ remote
Works just fine for me. What are you all talking about. I don’t have problems with it. No I am not paid to write this review. It’s either you are using crappy Internet or your computers are messed up or whatever device you’re using.
Not what I expected
Not that good hard to work with. In today’s time why aren’t they updated and making something awesome like their software
Great potential please update it!!!!
After downloading this app I was excited to have wireless remote control from the other side of the room. But due to the limitations of not having the whole Virtual DJ software on your phone I can understand why some people wouldn’t like it. However I still use it as it allows me to have a different approach to DJ’in. For the developers, don’t give up! If anything you could change at least allow the crossfading and ease of syncing songs with each other. With those features I would be good to go.
Is starting to look better!
EDIT!!!!! Hahahaha. I must retract from my previews review… it just failed and crashed the app on my Mac. LOL. Please fix 🥹😅 First I must say that of all the years I’ve been using the app, there was just a small period of time where it failed… A lot! But with that out of the way, I must say that on the last 3 years, it’s been working pretty good. Today, I’m at a party and the app updated with me not noticing. I just connected it and I must say; it is actually working very well and is looking a lot better. Very responsive, no lag and can be used as a virtual controller in certain easy gigs. Thank You Virtual DJ for finally updating the app. It was long due, but thank you!
Needs and update
Remote reverts to old remote and is not compatible with vdj 2021
Love it!
I haven’t yet use the app whilst on a gig, however whilst we are in lockdown I’ve been using the app and the sampler features to play my station IDs whilst I djay online. My only complaint with the application is that it does drain the battery on my iPad Pro quite quickly. With a full charge on my iPad, the power will last about two hours during a four hours set. The app needs to be calibrated to not draining as much power. The app needs to be calibrated to not drain as much power.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PURCHASE!! WASTE OF MONEY
If I’m paying $9.99 for this, I shouldn’t be getting stressed trying to find a device for a device for a very long time, which I can’t still find my laptop as I am typing this ,that has the vdj software on it. If yall not interested in developing this, take it off AppStore and stop letting people paying for something that don’t work but you “claim “ it do
Fine as a controller on iPhone 8
I only use it on a home system and it it fine for controlling volume and fading between decks. On the computer go to settings, remote. Select your phone, click on connect and connect automatically, so that you don’t have to do this every time you turn it on.
Update
Developers can you please update this app!!!!!
Great app, BUTT!!!!
Great for walking around to tweak sound and conduct reception events, BUTT; It is hard to get connected and crashes too often.
Great app
Works great on iPad and iPhone!!
Service issue
I purchased this product nearly a year ago. I have not been able to use it. The screen is locked on waiting for ip address to connect. I cannot get anyone to respond to the problem.
Gut
Crap
I read the reviews but wanted to try it for myself. Keeps crashing. Useless.
Has potential
App has a lot of potential for a bit of prep whilst out and about but where it comes in most useful is access to sample pads and effects. The problem is that it has issues with performance, most likely due to connectivity to the main application. This can mean missed cues or even worse, sticking samples/effects that remain on for too long. Making this app able to use USB would most likely improve things. It would also be nice if the screen would rotate as the landscape view is the wrong way around for the native screen cover.
Great at last
Finally is as useful as you'd always hoped
Not happy
I’ve been a Virtual DJ program for years. And I love the program. But, this app. Hasn’t worked since I got it. It’s like I just donated money to someone.
Automix needs amending
Just wish you could scroll through the Automix playlist and see all music rather than just what’s on next. Then the ability to change automix order or add a song next instead of bottom of the list would be great. Rating it 4 stars, works great but would get 5 if the above was possible.
Buggy
I've used this for years and it is see to work well. It's not worked reliably for over 12 months now. It often binds to the 3G network address rather than the local so can't connect to the computer. Currently it connects and works for a couple of seconds and then crashes. Currently unusable. Please fix :(
A big improvement
A big improvement, however a lack of instructions available. Can't find how to toggle auto mix on or off. The mix now wizard button just speeds all the tracks up to a silly speed. Needs. When I connect a device it appears in the list twice. Bit more work but looks a lot better.
Dj appear
Excellent would recommend
Horrible
Didn’t work for me
Absolut Top!
Spent £6.99 doesn't work
Doesn't work
Please Update for iOS 8
Please update for iOS 8 seriously need it. I paid money for it. Thank you very much.
Good
Great app once I set it up right. Could do with a tweek. Would be better if it had a search bar hard to find songs
Unable to Use
APP needs to connect to some IP address and does not allow any interaction at all. think I just wasted $10. Hoping to get support.
Sehr cool!
Virtual DJ Full Version 7.4 auf MacBook + ipad2 Läuft einwandfrei und macht Spaß! Nur vier Sterne wegen kleiner Browser-Sichtbarkeit, sonst top!
Disappointing
After much anticipation i downloaded the app and while it is 'ok' it could be a lot better. I.e the ability to drag and drop with the ipad touch interface would be a nice addition seeing as it is a touch only device. Also the ability to control the pitch like in the pc app would be great.
Mmmm ok ish
Needs song search ASAP!!!!! Next update please!!!!
