This is the best way to build an inventory of useful vocabulary, enough to to speak French or any language. Thank you for a useful app.
Bait and Switch
Purchase because I wanted word translation AND hearing pronunciation. Second time I used it the the pronunciation “trial period” was over. Now I have to pay for premium product. What a joke!!
Good Ap
This is much more than a dictionary -- it's a thesaurus, a game, and a great help with vocabulary through the use of flashcards. My only complaint is that it doesn't indicate gender until you open the definition,which otherwise isn't always necessary.
Not happy
You can look up words but you other than that, you have to buy all other features, like translator, which I use quite often. I liked the old version better

Can be hard to use at first. It also doesn’t give you a description of the word. If I search the french word for look I get many results but I have no idea if some mean stare or some glance. But otherwise it’s pretty good.
PLEASE UPDATE!
Have your dictionaries in multiple languages with IAPs and love them. Please update them all to 64 bit so they will not become obsolete.
Impossible to use with too many in-app purchase ads
I didn’t download this for longer than 5 minutes before I deleted it. I tried using some settings and they were not user friendly. I tried to translate one word and it wouldn’t translate, just kept taking me to purchase options. I clicked the pronunciation icon once and it said I had exhausted the trial and had to pay $0.99 for any more. This needs to have more free options or just make it a paid app. In-app purchase options are just too much and get in the way of the simplest of tasks. Not worth it.

This app has come in so handy! The only problem is that the words have no articles. As a French student, the 'la' and 'le' are very important! Please fix.

Don’t buy it
The second you type anything you’re interrupted by ads even after you purchase the dam* thing. Also, their customer service is horrible. I had an issue with my account and their reply was basically that’s not our problem [PERIOD]. No interest in knowing more about the problem for future reference or in helping a customer whatsoever.

Generally useful. Greatest weakness is not showing gender of nouns.
Indigo the Ent Wife
Without knowing the gender of the words, this is a useless dictionary. Does anyone know if the "paid" version has the gender of the word? I end up having to look up the words in a real dictionary, so what's the point of this software? The "le" and "la" are very important in French. Not sure what they were thinking by leaving out this vital information.

I got this for the scan functionality, which is truly horrible. Another app I tried worked much better. The dictionary itself is also very unimpressive and oddly free of formatting. Last and worst, the ads are incredibly obnoxious and require dismissal about two times a minute.

Soso
It has plenty of words, but it doesn't conjugate verbs. Also when I look up pouvoir, it doesn't show up alone. Please have conjugated verbs. It would be a 5 star if it did.
Absolutely essential for French students.
Don't write many reviews but I love this app! I was hesitant about getting the full version, but I love it. Links to Word Reference, has flash cards, audible pronunciations, it is must for anyone studying French. I study other languages; I wish they'd make this dictionary for other languages as well. Thanks. Edit: they do have other languages. That made my day!

Useful and efficient

Most of the words I wanted to look-up after downloading the app were not included in the dictionary. Games and word of the day are neat features but also flawed. You get what you pay for in this free app.

This App is clearly not written by someone who speaks a language other than English. The omission of noun gender makes it impossible to construct proper sentences - nonsense!

Not a good idea!
I know it's free but in my experience some of the vocabulary choices and explanations are rather unwieldy, and at times plain weird and inaccurate. The word of the day seems more like word of the week. Maybe okay at a superficial level but if you are serious about learning French I would invest in a more comprehensive and better established dictionary.

I think it's a pretty good app. Has a good amount of phrases and words. The only thing is it doesn't have a lot of phrases that are commonly used and I'm finding myself going to Google more than I should have to.

French Dictionary
Have not needed to use the dictionary yet. I look at the daily word and find the words given are totally useless for learning every day French words. More normal vocabulary would be better.
Good way to learn!
Good! But Sometimes you can't find a word. Not big vocabulary. On other hand the vocabulary available is good enough. Some options ( like games, word of the day, random vocabulary) make your study fun, if you have time to play around. I like it.

Lacking gender from definitions, trial version
The definitions of the French words don't indicate if nouns are masculine or feminine -- this is really inexcusable since it is one of the main things I look for in the definition. Do the developers know about French usage? This is a trial version with some features such as audio pronunciation only allowed the first few times. This version has full screen ads that come up when you just want to look up a word-- very annoying.
