Amazing and Extremely Attentive Company
I found DaySmart on ChatGPT after directing it to help me find and well-rounded platform that has all the gadgets a Facial Specialist will need regarding administrative and clientele organization. This is the first platform I use of this type and I really appreciate how the system is really straightforward to use when you take your time to play around the site. Regardless, there’s easily accessible communication between you and literally anyone from the DaySmart team. The communication and frequent check-up calls to ensure I’m using the platform to its fullest extent has been top-tier. I literally tell them they’re so nice and awesome every call I’ve had since I started. Truly 10/10.
Not receiving all my money
I have been busy with other things as a small business owner and something I recently noticed while trying to save up for a house, is that I haven’t been receiving all my money. I’ll check a client out through the system and when it get deposited it doesn’t include the tip or the full service price. Example: I checked a client out with her service being $85 and including tip the total was $100, when it deposited into my account I only recorded 76… at first I just thought it took some time for it to register the tip but it doesn’t even deposit the service price!?! I did the math of one month of how much it says I made in the system and how much I actually received in my bank account and I’m missing over $1500! I liked this app for a while but that is just straight up robbery!! Owning a small business is already expensive enough where I spend $61 a month for the subscription, they take out a percentage every month of how much I make, on top of not giving me all my money!!!
Question...
Hi, I’m new to this app for my salon. I’m trying to figure out if this is a free app or it’s a monthly fee? But so far I’m liking it just trying to figure out a few things.
Very dated
Very dated compared to other companies such as booksy and gloss genius. The support team is great though.
Stripe Services Don’t Like
I like the software and booking but I don’t like the Stripe Card Service Software. I have the M2 Card Reader so when my clients get charged their service fee I have to manually add the 2.6 % transaction fee + .10 cents and if a client leaves a tip stripe double takes the transaction fee. I don’t feel like my tip amount should have anything to do with the transaction. For example, if my client’s service totals $95, the transaction fee on top of that would be $97.57. When Stripe runs the transaction they take 2.6% + .10 cents out of $97.57 instead of $95. Then if my clients leaves me a $10 tip, Stripe takes the 2.6% + .10 cent fee out of the $107.57! I HATE! this part of the card system service that comes with the booking system!
App is amazing!
Went from an actual scheduling book to the app and I LOVE it! A lot more freedom with scheduling and super convenient!
0/10 do not buy. This has been a horrible experience
We have been customers for 7 years now. Used to be a great service & then they took all the customer reps away & now it’s just ai garbage. We pay a lot of money for no help with tech issues never get any support
Bug in new update
The app is really great and useful. But with the new update, it won’t allow me to look at any of the clients’ formula histories. Hopefully will get fixed soon
Fix the app
Ever since the iOS 16 update I can’t open or edit tickets from my phone. And y’all charge way too much for the only solution to this problem to be completely resetting the phone. I refuse to sacrifice losing settings I’ve had on my phone for yearssssss just to have one app work the way it’s paid to work. I hope the next update to the app fixes this problem
App doesn’t allowed promo to be applied
Not sure what’s the deal is with the app but there is no place to apply a promo code on the app. You can do it at checkout on the web version, but not the app? What would be the logic for omitting the promo field on the app?
Online booking service
I have been using this online booking service for 10 years now and it is amazing! Only 2 or 3 times in the whole 10 years was there a short glitch the system was down and resumed very promptly with no loss of appts or info. I highly recommend!
Horrible
This system is still terrible… extremely unhappy with it…. There is always something wrong and right now the whole system is down. I cant check anyone out, i cant book anyone, i cant even see the schedule!! This is costing me time and money now and i am going to switch! But no one will answer the phone nor can you even call them either….never had a prob when it was salon iris… soon as it switched to daysmart it sucked!! The product counts don’t stay correct… the online booking shows times available in stylists books that are not…. please do yourself a favor and use a different company… trust me!!
Excellent app
I love the Salon Iris app. It has changed the way I do business. It is so convenient for the clients to book online. The only problem is the client needs to be able to cancel or modify their appointment online, not just make an appointment.
App operation problems
It worked for maybe 2 weeks before I couldn’t use the app anymore. Every time I click the app it opens and then closes. I’ve tried uninstalling and that hasn’t worked. I don’t know if this is a common thing or not but I’m disappointed.
iOS 15
Cannot seem to connect since upgrading iPhone to the new OS. No problem connecting on iPad or other platforms
Great app
I really like having DaySmart available to me. It allows me to keep track of my days appointments and or cancellations. Also, I am prepared for my work day ahead of time which I find very helpful !
So sad
This was once a great system. Sadly there is absolutely no support. You will wait forever, and ironically it’s only through text! They have changed many things since Salon Iris changed to Day smart. I can’t login through a MacBook, or my iPad its just a white screen. I never had these issues before!

I would like to be able to drag and drop appointment changes from day to day! Otherwise love the program!
New update
Since the most recent update I hate it. It shows only 1 hour increments versus the 15 minute time blocks before. I also don’t like the way it shows the week overview. When I move it, it skips to the next week and find it over all frustrating. There was nothing wrong with the way it was before and find it completely unnecessary to change it for the sake of changing it.
It’s a great app but...
This last update has been my least favorite. I’ve used this app for 10 years and I dislike the new platform more than any other. I don’t like layout for time frames. I also do not like the swipe over to a new week... it took me a very long time to figure out the calendar and I still haven’t figured the app out well

Trash
Honestly this is the biggest pain to set up and it’s very inconsistent. Everyone is better off using GlossGenius. It only took me a few minutes to set up compared to DaySmart where it took me almost a week. DaySmart requires a computer to create/edit your website. GlossGenius has everything done from your phone, it’s super quick and simple, and the booking site is much more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use from a client’s prospective. Seriously please save your time and money and download GlossGenius because it’s amazing. I now understand why so many people are switching over!

I have been using it to book my appointments, pretty simple I can figure out on how to get the online booking system for my clients going it say no appointments available.

Good app!
I like the app a lot. Giving it 3 stars because I think it would be great if there was a way to connect my google calendar to the app so my appointments are all in one place. I use this app because I work independently with a company while using a different booking app for my personal clients and it would be awesome to have everything in one place to look at instead of checking back and forth all the time.
Mindset
This has been the absolute best software I’ve ever encountered! It has become a routine where I enjoy and look forward to using because it helps prepare my mind. Having set up my daily positions of work is working smarter and not harder! Very simple to use and easy! This is the ultimate solution to a mindset of how great it is to use this! Get it!
Had hopes for this app
I downloaded this app last month on a free trial to see if I liked it or not. Hours after downloading and browsing the creator or whoever he is called me and tried to get me set up with a payment device for free and update me to the latest software for for for the month. I ended up getting charged for the first month service anyway and then never received the device I was told I would get even after giving out information that I could’ve kept to myself. Wasted hours out of multiple days talking to me to never get me what was said. Then after I’ve tried to get a refund on 3 different accounts after I was told I would and still nothing. Yeah it’s only $26 but I’m a small business and need everything back I worked for!! Don’t recommend this app at all especially if you are a nail tech. There was not option for me to add pics of services or nothing. I’ll stick with square for free. No unexpected charges and no lies. No one from square has ever contacted me after downloading an app

Great app to store all your appointments although can sometimes take a while to work but worth it and all the information you need is there and perfect for adding new services too.

Great until it’s not…
It is literally impossible to get customer support or help if anything goes wrong. I’ve called, emailed, and tried messaging them multiple times with no response. I guess I’ll have to transfer my info to a different scheduling app and cancel

I think this app is great, but it would be extremely beneficial if their was the option to view all working employees scheduled at once. Also we should have the option to add and edit time blocks within everyone's schedule!
Only useful when main comp is running
The whole point of remote access is to schedule clients after hours. However if the main computer goes into sleep mode you cannot log into the app to view clients.
Could use some improvements...
This app is useful, but it's quite slow for booking appointments. It does work, however, you can't see who a person has been booked with and which services they have previously received. This makes it hard when working in a salon with multiple stylists and someone doesn't remember who they were last booked in with. Also, you can't delete an appointment on the app or book services where 1 client will see more than 1 person. Other than that, it's a pretty good app :-).
Love salon iris the best

I had been a loyal salon iris user for over 10 years, but lately the company has changed their practices and seem to be heading in a different direction. Long story short there is way better booking software options for cheaper or free. They have continual price increases once you are signed up. A basic service fee starts at $44 a month. Their billing statements are very messy. Recently I was going though to check why my billing had gone up so. For example here is one of the overcharges I received….. I had found on a recent statement they had tacked on an extra charge for almost $4 for no reason. No statement in the line what it was for, just a charge. I emailed the billing department was immediately disregarded and told talk to a sales rep about it. Why is that a sales rep issue? So I get ahold of the sales rep and he agrees it’s an overcharge….one month later has it been fixed no. Update as of today…..they can fix the overcharge if I sign up to credit card processing. The $4 charge was not the only overcharge on my statement but it was one that was the most blatantly obvious that should have been fixed immediately. So that month my bill was almost $48 for basic booking, no client online booking or appointment reminder text or emails, just basic booking. Check out the other options on the market before you get invested in this company. At $44 plus a month and all the extra hidden charges I would find a more ethical company that actually is run better than this.

This app is a great idea and works well to a point however as a business owner I absolutely need to be able to manage all my staff and their columns and appointments when I am out of the salon or when it is closed, and it won't let me do this - so it is not at the moment doing the job I need it to do. This needs fixed urgently to make it an effective business tool.

I truly believe this is the best software on the market for salons and barbershops. But unfortunately the booking page was a deal breaker for me . I truly believe if you could create a more customer friendly booking page similar to square,booksy,squire,set more, Vagaro. It would be a game changer. I spoke with a few former customers of yours and their feedback was very similar to mine which was why they left. We are all highly Disappointed because this software was almost everything a barbershop owner Dreamed of. Please make a more customer friendly booking page . I would love to work with you along with a few other shop owners I have close relationships with to promote this software if you were to create a friendly booking page.

Super expensive
Charges you $109 when you only need one access for 6 employees. Maybe create a package for those that are in our predicament
