What people like
- News coverage feels fair and unbiased
- Interface looks clean and modern
- Great for international news updates
What they complain about
- App crashes and stops responding often
- Live video streaming is poor quality
- Ads interrupt you constantly while watching
- Navigation buttons are missing or broken
The app serves its purpose
Keep improving for bugs.
Live streaming not available in UAE
This is the best news app however live video streaming is not available in the UAE that is disappointing. Apps like India Today, NDTV and Republic TV have no issues broadcasting their live video streaming, therefore it should not be impossible for News18 to do. If you start then my rating will be 5. Else it will remain at 1 unfortunately.
Feature rich application but lacking audible option
Application has everything except the option of listening the news and getting other work done simultaneously.
There’s no section for sports
Well, a news app which doesn’t have a sports section? There’s not much coverage on international sports either.
Good content, Buggy app
Content is good but app is too laggy and unresponsive
Wondering app
Did not see any other comprehensive news app and live TV etc Wish the business and market news was here Sometimes I don’t switch on my TV you can just use the app
App is not working

My Favourite
Of late I have started liking NEWS 18 and see nowadays very often its news and alerts I like its international news section very much as I am currently in Canada I hope to continue and have the same enthusiasm while I am back in Chennai India

App not responding frequently
I am using the app on an IOS phone . Every few days , maybe on average after every 20-25 days the app stops responding and hence doesn’t open only . And then each time after these days cycle , I have to delete the app and re install it from App Store .. don’t know if anyone else also facing similar issues . This problem has been there since last almost 1 year . Kindly look into it .

Audio not working in live TV mode
Can’t navigate back to Home page after reading a story!!
I have experienced a silly oversight where, on iPhone, once you read the story in detail, you can’t navigate back to Home page. There is no back arrow or button!!! You have to close the app and flush it out of memory to re-load the Home page. Can you guys fix this please? Regards, Div Majmudar
Great but needed 2 changes.
Hi Team, News18 app is definitively the best in the segment and there are many reason: -> The great user interface. -> Super smooth experience. -> Great content. But 2 request: 1. Put an option in settings to remove the live TV screen from homepage. It doesn’t play here in united state and that part of screen goes waste and it gives very odd experience. Also most of the user intention is to just read the news not the live channel. 2. If i give location manually which of course foreign user need to give, then FOR YOU and MY AREA tab give you the exact same content. So that means there is no benefit of 2 different tabs. Hope to hear from you soon!!

Correct errors
Your email doesn’t work. 51818 doesn’t work. When called on phone for correction of errors (like CHATURDASHI follows Tritiya) on “Today’s Panchang”, instead of connecting to Editorial section, I get “call after 10” response. Anyway, please have it corrected. What is your News18 email ID? The one given on the website doesn’t work. What is A correct SMS number? The one given on website doesn’t work. What is editorial section extension number?
Age of the news and quality of wording
Please give date of publishing against each news as we are finding very old news frequently which are not being deleted by you. In case of filmy news, the quality of Bengali wording to praise the beauty of some ladies are of very low standard. You have a challenge in this regard.

Good content, useless Interface
1) I basically use the app to view live TV. The recent update where they have done away with full screen video/live TV is definitely a step backward. 2) If I just switch the app to read a notification etc and come back almost instantly it still wants to show an ad for minimum 5 seconds (that too after a pause) and hence a forced gap of close to 10 seconds. 3) come up with a Ipad app! But I guess it's too much to ask looking at the way they have worked with the iPhone app.
Good UI with lack of 3G connectivity for shows !
The user interface is cool i loved this UI on my iPad now it's identically same on my iPhone. I would like to give 3 starts as the app doesn't support 3G or 4G network to play videos which is shame in the era of LTE you can't ignore the importance of stand alone 3G or 4G connectivity.

Good channel with fair and timely news
All links are not working
After recent update, links are not working and application is not responding all time. Uninstalling the app now.
Good update
Finally a good revamp which seems to solve most of the crashes. Nice layout. Just change the icon of application so that it follows iOS 7 flat looks.
App does not have cast option
App should have Cast to tv option for live tv. Helps viewers outside India much.

Biased coverage.
I feel your coverage is biased towards some. Marathi grammar needs improvement.
Good app but still
Good app...but video quality of live is very bad and app is bit slow and crashes sometimes on iPhone 4. Please fix the issues.
Mediocre
Very less contents. Too much colour and pictures. Very less things to read. Looks like a sopa opera and not a news channel. Very frustrated
