What people like
- Very easy to use for beginners
- Great for turning photos into cartoons
- Worth the small price tag
What they complain about
- Video quality is low and blurry
- App crashes frequently after updates
- Too many ads in free version
- Billing charges even after canceling trial
Such Fun
Love this app. So easy to use.
Bogus
This doesn’t turn anything into cartoons. They are mediocre filters that you can get on pretty much every free editing app. There is no filter on here that truly turns you into a cartoon or anything close to. The video filters are horrible and the choices are extremely limited. It is a complete waste of money

ToonCamera
ToonCamera let’s you pick photos but doesn’t let you search for any photos you don’t have.
Update
Add more templates or filters while taking a photo and also add video recording in 4k on the iPhone 17 Pro Max
Terrible
Cartoons really look terrible.
Very interesting choices, but…
08/17/2023 Okay, I realize now the one request I’d make… when in each pen or pencil mode the horizontal double squiggly that makes each selection with choices or options. There needs to be either a number or something that allows for knowing which option you'd prefer. As it is and has been, one can keep hitting that double squiggle and not know if they've started the choices all over again or not. This would make your app even more awesome! I enjoy using this app for a variety of reasons. One being the useful choices varying from painterly to sketchy with subtle changes via each choice. Not sure what I'd request to make it more of so, I'm pretty satisfied with what it does offer.
Weak
Purchased this for £1.99....hoping it was as good as described but unfortunately not...very week compared to similar I’ve used. There are much better cartooning programs than this you can spend your money on.
Mediocre app
Yes the app will stylize a photo into a cartoon however, the quality and range of options is limited and mediocre at best. Extremely limited options and the options present produce basic limited results.
Super easy to use
I wanted to create a short video that transitioned from a 1980s-vibe poster look into line drawings, and vice versa, but creating those images on the desktop necessitated pricey and complex software. So I’m very happy I found this app which allowed to shoot all the video and still photos in a matter of minutes, then I used a video editing program to put it all together. And it looks amazing. And only $4.99. So worth it and very easy to master. It’s kind of addicting, too, in a good way. 😊👍🏻
Waste of money - many better free apps
Just a total waste of your money. Download any one of the free cartoon app’s available and you can get a better product. Turns normal pictures into blurry pics that are vaguely cartoon-like. Totally useless..
Latest update glitch
I use this app all the time, but with the last update it's crashing every time I try to save a third image to my camera roll.
Just started with this app, so will review again.
As I use this app more I will review again, more stars or less, but far liking it.
Toon camera positive
Toon cam is a wonderful tool for enhancing and developing one’s image - the range and quality of process is is achieved fast and with ease. Definitely one of my favorite and useful creative tools -app Thank you. For making it
Buyers be aware! Scammers!!!
I was offered a free 3 day trial to use this app. After 5 minutes I knew it was not for me and canceled it immediately. They still billed my credit card a few days later. Be aware and pay attention to this company's billing. They will shamelessly try to make you pay for a subscription you have not requested and even if you cancel immediately their free trial they will pretend that didn't happen and charge your credit card anyway.
It just fun to use
That’s about it. It’s just fun to use!
Album upload problem.
This is a Crackin app! I love the idea and look it gives... loads of fun. However, it won’t allow me to select any photos from any of my photos in my library. IF I could do this then it’d be an amazing app! 3 stars for now! Let’s hope I can raise it to 5 stars soon 😊
Amazing app
Amazing app!
Boring
This is boring and it cost money.
Nice but expensive
Really works well but to many ads and everything is pro pay version
Solita
Love it
Love this app!
BAD🤬
Really sucky. Do NOT get this app
A little too simplified
You control the type of filter you apply by tapping through a selection of various pen and paintbrush icons, but they don’t describe what you’ll get. You just have to try them all through trial and error. Within the filter, you can change the degree of filtering by tapping a “line” icon. It cycles through a range of changes but gives you no indication of when you have looped back to the beginning of the selection. You just keep tapping until you recognize a pattern or find a look you like. A slider bar or some kind of progress marker would be nice. For the price of a soda, you get a fun little app to turn your photos into cartoons.
Be good to have menu
The outcome is cool but at first it is hard to know what tools will create which effect.
Very good
Very good
Too glitchy.
The first time I used the app there was no sound on the video. I force quit the app and reopened it and magically there was video. Yet the next time there wasn’t. I took a video of my infant daughter and no sound. That moment has now come and gone. I shouldn’t have to continually force quit the app to get sound. This is ridiculous. UPDATE in response to the developer’s response... I deleted and reinstalled. Same issue.
4 stars
Good but I wish you had the option to undo the effect and put it back to normal. Can you please update so that you can??
Usable but poor
I can understand the reason of reduced frame size (1384 x 1038) and frame rate (15 fps). It can be improved with editing software. But why the only option is 4:3 instead of common today 16:9? Another issue is that textures are related to frame borders but not to image itself — to reach the perfect results iPad must be fixed on tripod or any stand.
vcool easy to get good results
On my iPhone 6 Plus, video output file is 1136 x 640 from back camera, so not officially HD but looks very good anyway. I am further conflicted that when uploading from front-camera to youtube it is only processed to 240P which is REALLY disappointing and then looks rubbish and blocky :-(
garbage filters.
the one time i decide to pay for a photo/video app and it turns out to be garbage. lots of free ones available that are a LOT better.
Surprised and fun
I have all sorts of work this comes in handy for. Instant organic conversion of any product photo. There are varying degrees of effect available and I still feel I have artistic control of the project.
Was good
Brilliant when first downloaded but lately isn't working correctly even after deleting and reloading. Please fix!
Toon Camera
El mejor app que he descargado. Lo uso mucho en proyectos caseras.
Mr
Very poor. Toon effects limited and clunky. Disappointing results. I won't be using it
creative any image
I thought it was a gimmicky app until you just use it to transform images. Just the filter to remove wrinkles is worth it to buy this app. Simple and effective.
Has been
Used to be a 5 star app but now it's not as good. Used to love it soo much and was easy to use but now it all turns out rubbish. But tangled instead.
Ok
You can use vids & pix from camera roll. Video & pix look ok on the ipad because of the low res, if it was high resolution then I would give it a 5 star as the quality would be much better on your laptop or TV. Please big up the resolution!!! I pay more for it!
So funny
good
Trash
Slow and clunky but at least the effects are garbage. Thanks for cluttering my phone
Fun to use
I really enjoy this app. It's great for enhancing line art!
Fun fun fun
It really is a lot of fun. Pick a bright subject and it is just so cool. Only thing is that it makes a small screen in iPad. But on iPhone it is ace. Just like a watercolour painting is best way I can explain it. For the price of a mars bar it's well worth it. They recently updated and it's spoiled some of the effects. Sometimes developers its been to keep to the original recipe.
ToonCamera
As previously mentioned, the resolution is low, needs an update.
