What people like
- Great for local Idaho news updates

- Weather forecasts are inaccurate and slow
New update for streaming player is great
Their new livestream player is great I love watching the most recent eastern Idaho news stories when I can. It took some getting used to with the app customizations but I have it how I like I now.
So bad!!!
I hope that I can paste the screen recording of this app. They claim a live stream can be watched, but if I’m lucky I can get a choppy slide show, with a new frame about every 5-seconds. What’s really funny is if it gives me the remix-version of the weatherman doing the floss, because it’s trapped between 2 frames. That makes for some entertainment, but not for the news and info that I’m hoping to get from here. Please look into fixing your glitches KIFI!!
Great APP
I enjoy having local news available wherever I go. However, don't like the pop up ad when I open the APP.
Streaming
Live stream lately it’s constantly freezing up
Not up to date
To much old news Back to September REALLY
Great Local App
Great for local news alerts and stying up to date. I enjoy having the news in my hands. Works great too.
Copy and paste CNN
This news app is ridiculous. If I wanted news from CNN I would download their app. Do some investigating and write your own articles.
Gentleman loafer
I really enjoy the news updates throughout the day. I also enjoy watching the news in the evenings on channel 3 and channel 8. I don't like the ads coming in and covering the whole page when I'm trying to read the news updates. I've enjoyed Steve Cannon, doing the weather for more years then he would probably want to admit to doing it.
Shuts down all the time
It used to be more stable, but over the past few weeks, it won’t even open a story for more than a few seconds before the entire app just quits. Irritating when you want to know about local news and it’s one of a very few sources in the area.
Notifications
The app gives me notifications 3 times on the same story. This needs to be fixed.
Love the livestream video!
I really like the customization of the app. I love the livestream video feeds also that show the most recent news cast!
Joke
When is channel 8 going to get some professional staff? The news in the morning is a joke.
Was good, starting to go downhill
(For the current version in early 2016, it has become a tacky unprofessional app getting pop up ads and ones that won't go away. I may have to just start viewing the mobile site on the ad block plus phone web browser.) The app works pretty good features are nice. A future improvement that would be nice to be able to choose what type of notifications you get sent. It also would be nice if we had the live viper radar instead of weather underground, but it works good too I guess. It is nice being able to move around and zoom in & out on the radar. Also, it would be nice to see the part come back where you could submit picture and video reports to the news station. If they do being it back, if they would be able to make the submissions without having to have e-mail set up on the device so that it would just send through the app.
Two of everything!
I am getting 2 of every news item. Not necessary!!!!
Extremely distracting ads
Between the blue one that covers the screen when you open the app and the extremely annoying, distracting little red box flickering at the bottom, it is a struggle to read the news these days. I realize that you require ad income to survive but isn't it possible to be less off-putting?
Love it
I truly love this news app. There is national and international news. The local news is upbeat. One note is that there is no ‘traffic and crime reports’ . LOL. That’s because in this Idaho city there is NO traffic and NO crime . It is so nice to be informed and not burdened with sad news. Thanks
Poor
Update to news is slow. Have to go elsewhere
Helpful
I really appreciate the critical news alerts, because I don't have time to sit and read all the news.
Never updated
I hate that I can’t even find local sports scores. It takes days for them to post high school scores. So disappointed. They only care about the “big” stories.
Updates are great
I originally rated this app poorly because the pop up ads seemed to interrupt reading randomly, usually mid-sentence. I downloaded and tried it again, though, and noticed that now the ads either appear at the bottom or pop up between news articles. This is a welcome change. Thanks to the developers for addressing the reading interruptions. I look forward to using this app to keep up with the news.
Do your own reporting
It would be nice if East Idaho News could do their own reporting instead of just regurgitating news stories from national news sources that do not represent Idaho values.
Good App
Good set up. Go to this often for news. Smaller ads would be better. Like the push notifications.
Not good
I miss the old app, this one crashes all the time despite downloading it again and the format is difficult. I look at the ten day forecast and half the time it hasn't been updated in a couple days.
KIFI
Where is Tim Time??? Please respond
Poor weather forecasts
Extremely poor forecasting of the weather. The temperatures are NEVER accurate and NEVER updated in a timely manner. Checked it at 4:30 in the morning and it said it was 93 degrees, but another weather app said it was 73, which was the real temperature.
Ch 8 app
I do not like the add bars on the top an bottom the rest is ok
Video never works
I like the app, and for the most part it does work, maybe a little slow. But every time you click on the drop-down menu then go to weather, then choose the video weather, it opens you to a site that never loads any video.
Love our news!
I always turn to channel 8 or 3 for our news. Thank you for the coverage of what our area cares about most.
To hard to find local news
The app has gotten more complicated with every update. I look to KIFI for local news, not national news. It's not good for that anymore.
Poor website
Design is great, but the website is slow and carries old stories just for filler. A lot of fluff and little substance.
8 is Great
I love watching channel 8. But mostly I am glad that they are willing to broadcast the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints General Conference every 6 months. I don't have cable so I am grateful that you offer this great service! I am a loyal KIFI CHANNEL 8 watcher!
Really Bad
Why have notifications when the app crashes immediately after selecting one? Useless.
Still?
Still getting two notifications instead of one. How hard is it to only send it once?? I had been giving it three stars because of ads and the duplicate notification garbage, dropping to two stars because it's still not fixed.
Local and National
I Live out of town. This app not only keeps me informed about Idaho Falls but it also gives me a concise review of national news.
Lousy app
This news app is a poor excuse for an app. It loads slow. It's choppy when scrolling. Each update it gets worse. I wish they would change app developers and get a better app experience going. Don't waste your time with this. Get east Idaho news app it's much better!!
Too Many Ads
Ads are annoying, but worse than that there is no way to get rid of them. I would gladly pay a dollar or two to be rid of them.
Great App!
I don't have cable tv or the paper. This keeps me up to date.
Worst App I've Ever Tried to Use
Before the upgrade (it is really a downgrade) it was flawless. Now it never works. I wonder if the developer ever reads these reviews.
