Inaccessible health services, totally unacceptable, and illegal.
Hebrew-Only in 2026 — Violates Ministry of Health Directive This app has zero English support. No language toggle, no settings option, nothing. This isn’t just poor UX — it’s a regulatory violation. Ministry of Health Director General’s Circular 7/11 (effective February 2013) explicitly requires HMO websites and digital services to be accessible in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English. The Patient’s Rights Law (1996) requires that medical information be provided “in a language that is close and understandable to the patient,” reinforced by a 2014 amendment addressing patients who have difficulty understanding Hebrew. Maccabi’s response? Use Google Translate. For medical information. They even put a disclaimer on their website saying they take no responsibility for translation accuracy. That’s not accessibility — that’s liability shifting. Maccabi claims WCAG 2.0 AA compliance on their website. That standard covers screen readers and color contrast — it says absolutely nothing about providing multilingual content. Claiming AA compliance while delivering a Hebrew-only app to a country with hundreds of thousands of English, Russian, and Arabic speakers is misleading at best. Post-2024 immigration from English-speaking countries hit a 30-year high. Maccabi markets itself as having a high percentage of Anglo staff and patients. Yet the app those patients actually need to use daily — booking appointments, viewing test results, communicating with doctors — remains locked behind a language wall with no accommodation. One star until there’s full compliance the law as it pertains languageq. Not Google Translate. An actual interface.

אפליקציה לא יעילה. לאחר הוצאה של בקשה לרופא לא ניתן לערוך / לבטל בקשה קיימת או להוציא בקשה חדשה. מטופל שמבקש יום מחלה ולמחרת המצב שלו לא משתפר והוא מבקש להאריך לא יכול. לא ניתן להוציא בקשות מסוג אחר כמו חידוש מרשם, שאלות והפניות. המטופלים שלכם חיים בעולם האמיתי, תצטרפו אלינו?

It’s a great app, but at the same time if you are Ole/Olah you have no options to translate to english. You need to use the website to translate and is not even complete there, which is crazy considering that is an “innovative app” and the country has a high rate of Olim.

AI assistant and language support
As ole hadash and begginer level in Hebrew I would like to have a minor help with establishing in Israel, especially with such monstrous system as healthcare. Why application have no language support, why at least AI in the system cannot answer in custom language by user request? My only option to use application is to take screenshots and translate them in separate application, each page, sometimes multiple times

קיימת איזה תקלה בדירות הזה, כבר פעם שלישית קיבלתי הודעה על תור שמצאו ובלחיצה על הלינק מתבצע מעבר לאותו תור שכבר קיים לי ללא שום אופציה להקדמה שלו, פשוט מראה את אותו תאריך ושעה של התור המקורי בנוסף, המראה החדש של האפליקציה מאד לא אינטואיטיבי וקשה להתמצא בו
Best app ever!
אפליקציה ממש נוחה לשימוש ואינטואיטיבית . הכל נמצא במקום אחד וברור מאוד, תורים, בדיקות ומרשמים. קביעת תור לוקחת רגע וזה חוסך הרבה זמן. גם התקשורת עם הרופא דרך האפליקציה עובדת מעולה מרגיש שהאפליקציה משתפרת כל הזמן. ממליץ לכל מי שבמכבי להשתמש בה
No English is a threat to health
After 3 years with so much of my health information only available online in Hebrew, I find that both my quality of care and health are deteriorating. Potential olim from the English-speaking countries should consider the consequences to their health if they are not Hebrew-fluent.

מאז העדכון של האפליקציה החדשה כל המידע שהיה לפני נעלם ואני רואה רק מידע חדש. זה מעבר ממעצבן, זה פשוט חסר אחריות.
Русско-язычным пользоваться невозможно
Русско-язычным пользоваться невозможно. Результаты всех обследований легче получить распечатку в автомате Маккаби. Но до поликлиники еще надо дойти, старикам добраться порой бывает трудно. Маккаби дает ссылку по всем анализам на сайт, т.е. отсылает всех на сайт. А сайт оказывается бесполезным. Не понимаю, ведь русских в Израиле, и в частности в Нетании так много. Почему не сделать третий язык русским. Иврит, арабский и русский. Израиль создан русскими сионистами.
English is necessary
I don't understand why there's no English. It would take me years to learn enough Hebrew to read tests and results, etc. with a huge amount of English speakers, all of us trying to learn Hebrew I don't understand why we can't have an English interface

Dark mode is very needed
Hello, Im using this great app for all my medicational questions, but its all white and very hurtful for my eyes (I can't handle very light colors) I've been using this app since long time, and still hoping for a dark mode support soon
Language
English is the international lingua franca and is spoken even as a second language throughout every Europen country and even Asia and South America. Yet in Israel’s official institutions and even its international Banks it’s almost impossible to find an English speaking representative at any level. Many English Olim made aliya after retirement (I am 88) when learning a new language especially like Hebrew, is very difficult. So surely Israel should make a greater effort to improve the range of its English speaking population. I also made Aliya after retirement and am 89 so learning Ivrit beyond elementary colloquialisms is well nigh impossible. The lack of English speakers is astonishing in an advanced, developed and sophisticated country like Israel - even more so in international Banks and medical institutions when English is the language of medicine. Furthermore English is conspicuously absent from notices and signs but French and Russian are used quite widely. Worse still is the absence of English on the main phone booking and Enquiries system although the option is offered!
Why isn’t there English?
As one of the leading healthcare providers in Israel, Maccabi should be setting the standard for accessibility and inclusivity. It’s shocking that in 2025, a country known for its high-tech leadership still offers no proper English version of its app or website. Thousands of olim (immigrants) rely on your services, many of whom have not yet learned Hebrew — and some are elderly or vulnerable. Navigating medical needs without language access is not just difficult — it’s a serious barrier to care. This is not a minor oversight. It sends a clear message: that Maccabi is not prioritizing the people it claims to serve. If you’re committed to supporting all Israelis — including new immigrants — this must be corrected immediately. It is unacceptable that a health service so essential to the public is not accessible in one of the most widely spoken and understood international languages. English access is a basic requirement, not a luxury. Please address this with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.

No other languages but Hebrew
In a time where almost every service in this country is available in English or other languages, for the high percentage of people who speak other languages, it is quite odd that the leading healthcare provider in Israel has an app that is only in Hebrew. It is such a simple change to make yet one that doesn’t seem to be anywhere on the list of priorities. Maybe at some point the 20%-30% of the country that is non Hebrew speaking can get service with Maccabi. Sincerely, The Olim Community

There’s no possibility to watch a prescription, letter or recommendation from a doctor. Any of them in PDF format opens as a blank page with nothing.

poor data quality/updates

Hard to use
Not easy to make appointments- easier to call and make appointments and also it’s logging out too quick sometimes in the middle of me doing something….

Languages
Sorry to let you know but not everyone of your customers can use the Hebrew apps, especially the old people. My parents are to old to learn the languages and for them it is not possible to understand any of features in your app. Unfortunately it is the only possible way to be online and to be updated is using this app. Russian and English versions are going to be very helpful.

מחלקת הדיגיטל של מכבי חייבת לעבור שינוי מלא מהיסוד
כשנכנסים לאפליקציה מקבלים הודעה שצריך לעדכן אותה. כשלוחצים על אני רוצה לעדכן עכשיו אין שום גירסא חדשה שזמינה להורדה. בפועל לא ניתן להשתמש באפליקציה יותר! גם כשהאפליקציה עבדה - הרמה המקצועית של כל מחלקת הדיגיטל במכבי נמוכה ביותר. התמיכה הטכנית לא קיימת, באגים מדווחים לא נפתרים במשך חודשים, נציגים ״רובוטיים״ שלא פותרים כלום. בושה וחרפה שלקופת חולים הכי גדולה במדינה יש אפליקציה כל כך נוראית ורמה כל כך נמוכה בשירותים דיגיטלים. ולראיה גם כל הביקורות האחרות כאן.
הדרכה קולית בהפעלה ראשונה מפריעה. עורך טקסט לא מספק
בהפעלה ראשונה של האפליקציה, בעודי יושב בהרצאה רבת משתתפים, הופתעתי והובכתי מהפעלה אוטומטית של הדרכה קולית. לא ראיתי איך להשתיקה ונאלצתי לצאת בבהילות מהאפליקציה. אח״כ, בעת כתיבת הודעה לרופא, התברר שאין אפשרות לערוך טקסט באמצע הודעה והדרך היחידה לשנות טקסט הוא למחוק את כל הטקסט מנקודת השינוי ועד סופה. התנהגות מסורבלת שלא תואמת ציפיותי מאפליקציה חדשה.
