Colored Pencil reviews
3.9 out of 5, based on 180 reviews.
What people like
- Feels just like drawing with real pencils.
- Very easy to use with no learning curve.
- Great color picker shows light to dark shades.
What they complain about
- App crashes often and loses your drawings.
- No blending or smudge tools for colors.
- Layers are confusing and hard to rename.
Colored paper! Thank you
Best colored pencil sketching app in the store and one of the best sketching apps period. Lovely experience using this.
Looks like this app is working much better on iPad Pro
Looks like your app is working better, now! Have not experience any crashing with the new update. Worked on two sketches for over 30 minutes with no crash. I’ll continue using this as it seems your app is working much better, even with my third party Adonit stylus. Thank You for tracking down the issue. I will keep you updated here if I find any other issues! I use your app a lot through the years!
Mala
Nice app - rename layers
Hi - just bought app - nice colored pencil feel However - I am lost in the layers - can you add a way to rename a layer - thanks Also - where is the eye dropper tool Thank you Would love to see a video tutorial for the pink flower so I could follow along Nice work 😊
Freaking awesome!
The best drawing (specifically color pencil) app ever, I'll never go back to paper and color pencil ever again.
iOS13.1.2にアップデートしてから
Eye dropper
I am having trouble finding the eye dropper if there is one. When I press on a color in my painting one colored spot will color but the lines of the rest of them remain the color they were before.
My favorite drawing app
This is the best drawing app I've used on the iPhone so far. It took a while to get used to the features, but once I did it was so easy to draw detailed pictures. You definitely should know how to work with real artist quality colored pencils to get the best out of this app, as it emulates real life drawing almost perfectly. It's too bad there haven't been any updates for over a year.
iPhone5でiOS7.0.4です。
Has potential, but buggy
I like its simplicity in that it only tries to imitate one type of tool and it recently added support for Apple Pencil. However I found two serious issues while testing that make it not a trustworthy tool for now. 1) when attempting to quickly draw many parallel line, the app seems to be unable to keep up; some line do not start at where I put down my pencil. 2) after drawing for a while the app stops responding to my finger and Apple Pencil except for zooming the canvas. I have to kill the app and restart. 3) the blur tool added a bluish grey tint no matter what color is being blurred. I hope these issues can be fixed soon.
Love the app, but have a problem
I have been using this app for years, mostly for isolating subjects of interest on photographs. So I predominantly use the eraser function. Since the last update I find it frustrating because I can’t readily change to a color because I seem to be stuck with the erasing function. I use iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil.
Love it!
It's a great app. :)
Almayın
Çizim programları devamlı kullanıyorum. Merak edip indirdim ve sileceğim. Verdiğim para umrumda değil. Yer kaplaması bile şu an beni gerebilir.
Great App
This is a really fun app that works well and you can get nice drawings with it. I plan on using it as my sketch app on my trip to Europe this summer.
Dil
Dili japonca değişiyorsa bile japonca bilmek gerek Çünkü programı ilkindirdiğinizde japonca olup ‘dil’ seçeneğini görüp ayarlayamıyorsunuz Sayın yetkililer ingilizce var mı varsa nasıl ayarlanacak? yoksa eğer paranın boşa gitmesi ve sahtekarlık demek değil mi
Help fix it
Speed problem, slow have new iPad (3rd gen)
Great, but a request
This really does simulate drawing with colored pencils very well. I would love it if I could use different colored papers
Nice.....don't hesitate to buy.
I really like this program, and it tis the only one like it I could find, other than children's apps. The buttons are a bit small. The only thing it lacks is the abbility to blend or smudge a color, such as in black and white. I will make good use of this. Well thought out and designed. Please add a smudge/smear/blend tool, then it would be perfect. I seached apps for weeks to find this. It does save to photo album-roll. This was one reason why I hesitated buying, I like to save to photos. I gave it a four star because it needs a blending tool.
Nice app but needs...
I like how this mimics colored pencils but it lacks any blending tools which I find essential in colored pencil work. Please add some blending tools and I'll give you a higher rating. Thanks.
Colored Pencils
This app is so easy to use compared to others I have tried. If you keep the objects simple they turn out quite well. Enjoy!
I'm Not Rating it yet
Could you, would you please add Apple Pencil support for the iPad Pro? When you do this I will amend the rating to 5 stars. Regards, Floyd
Love it!
The only thing is there's no option for back ground colour.
Lame
Clumsy UI makes this one a loser and one I would not recommend. If you ever see it on sale for free, give it a try to see what I mean by lame. But, don't spend any money on it.
Could be better. Not worth the price.
Defiantly not what I was expecting. The quality is really not all that great. Not worth the price. Other then the quality, all the different pencils, and shading tools are great.
Looooove it
This is a great app and I have just about all the drawing apps! I like how it blends, endless colors to choose from of course, very user friendly and straightforward. I also like the face that there is a slide to adjust the value of a color that you are working with from the main screen. I'm looking forward to playing around with this app. You definitely get what you pay for.
Wonderful!
This is, perhaps, one of my most favorite drawing apps for the iPad. The pencils perfectly mimic the texture of the real thing. The only thing that I don't like is the tendency of the lines to become jagged when using quick, long, sweeping strokes so I hope that this problem will be fixed on the next update. I give it 4 stars for the great User Interface, ability to Import/Export drawings, choose different canvas sizes, and delete a drawing from within the app. Highly recommended to artists and casual doodlers alike.
Retina
Retina
Michelangelo would have loved this app
This is an exceptional app. I have tried most of the competitors which tend to be very unsophisticated suited only for doodling or crude drawing. Not so Colored Pencils which offers a level of subtlety and nuance that will satisfy even a professional illustrator. It is very intuitive to use and there is virtually no learning curve. You have the ability to draw freehand onto a blank paper or turn a photo into a black and white line image which can then be modified. The layers facility is very clever allowing you to build an illustration from a rough sketch adding many layers. Beware this app is very addictive. It's a wonderful way to while away time while waiting for a 'plane.
Unhappy
The application freezes, I lose all my drawings, when I go for a new page all I get is a dark screen no page, just a dark screen. I have re-install and I lose all my data. Working with the pencils is actually fun but I don't have anything to show for it...
Really cool!
The UI is well thought out. I really like the pencil picker. The colors are laid out from light to dark and makes it easy to pick a different tone and size at the same time, opacity is right next to the picker. The only complaint is that when you make a drawing in landscape mode, the tools don't rotate. You can still access the tools easily, but it would be nice if the tools could always be at the top and bottom no matter which way you hold the ipad. If you could fix that I will give it five stars.
