I learned to play Skat from my wife’s family in Central Texas. This is a fair and challenging digital version of the game that has given me many hours of enjoyment.
Nicht wirklich zufrieden
Habe häufig den Eindruck, das die Kartenverteilung nicht so ganz ok ist, kommt mir manchmal manipuliert vor.Habe den Eindruck, die Mitspieler können meine Karten sehe, außerdem haben sie, -wenn ich spiele- häufig 4 oder 5 Trümpfe gegen mich. Als Skatspieler mit über 50jähriger Erfahrung finde ich das alles etwas merkwürdig.
Satisfactory
I enjoy playing Skat and this is the only way I can. The most aggravating moment is when my partner does not return my lead or occasionally throws a ten on the opponent's trick. Much better than nothing.
Extrem langweilig
Es gibt haufenweise Spiele mit unendlich vielen Trümpfen, etliche Grands pro Runde. Das macht keinen Spaß. Niemand kann mir erzählen, das die Blätter rein zufällig zustande kommen. Dazu ist das Muster zu deutlich.
Nicht schlecht
Ist bloß etwas komisch wenn ich gegen den Computer spiele das meine Gegenspieler in einer Serie mindestens vier Grande haben. Das passiert mir im waren Leben nie.

Hilfe, nach Aktualisieren auf ios2652 und der App-Aktualisierung auf die neueste Version ist mein Spielfortschritt weg. Habe wiederholt angezeigt bekommen das ich mit 2 ID unterwegs bin obwohl ich das in der Vergangenheit schon bereinigt habe. Was nun?

Traurig
Ich habe die App gekauft und wirklich lange Zeit gerne gespielt. Inzwischen macht es keinen Spaß mehr,da zum einen die Punkteliste,wie übrigens auch in der Doppelkopf App völlig unübersichtlich geworden ist. Ich habe den Support vor Monaten kontaktiert,ohne Reaktion. Außerdem ist es inzwischen fast unmöglich geworden, mal eine Liste zu gewinnen. Völlig unlogisch,dass das früher mal so, mal so war und inzwischen nicht mehr auf faire Weise möglich ist. Wirklich traurig.
Auffällig hohe Anzahl von Grand und Grand Hand auf Seiten des Computers
Ich habe den Eindruck gewonnen, dass der Computer extrem viele Grand und Grand Hand mit mindestens 3 Buben spielt. Insbesondere der linke Spieler. Nur selten bekomme ich ein Spiel mit 6 Trümpfen zusammen, von denen dann mindestens 4 Gegentrümpfe auf einer anderen Hand liegen. Auch Null overt liegen oft beim linken Spieler. Einzig das Ramschen scheint gleichmäßig verteilt. Schade, sonst ein gutes Spiel.
Dealing
I have probably played 10,000 games on your app. It is getting very smart and very hard to beat. Congratulations- I can only imagine the AI behind it all. My complaint is this: far too often, my hand looks very much like the previous hand. State X should be independent of state y. I realize your stats show randomness, but I have a strong sense that it ain’t quite so
Laaangsaaam….
Diese App ist so unerträglich träge und langsam, dass man schnell die Lust verliert. Unfassbar schlecht gemacht sind auch die Sprechstimmen beim Reizen. Es nervt schon nach wenigen Sekunden. Und wenn man dann irgendwann entnervt einen Tisch vorzeitig verlässt, kommt beim nächsten Einloggen so ein virtueller Schiedsrichter mit erhobenem Zeigefinger und einem vorwurfsvollen Text dazu. Furchtbare Umsetzung!
Enjoyable
I have played Skat for more than 70 years, on and off, first in Germany and later, as the occasion presented itself, in the US. So I am a very soft competitor, nothing compared to my grandfather who practically made it a career to play every weekend. This implementation of the game is quite enjoyable. It falls a bit short of the version produced by Uwe Rasche for the Macintosh. My main complaint would be the poor verbalization quality of the few standard phrases. Whatever dialect was chosen, it isn't what I would prefer. So I turn off the sound. By comparison, the audio in Rasche's Skat feels like playing with an AI (artificial intelligence). Bottom line: if you know Skat already, it is well worth the small investment for your iPad.. I can't tell how it would be as a learning tool.

The last update is not good. I prefer the score screen after each round. Lets you know the score very clearly and offers easy replay. Why did you change it?

Das Spiel erzeugt viel zu viele Grand‘s was daher kommt das die Mitspieler das Spiel taufen und einfach ausspielen obwohl Sie garnicht dran sind das nervt.Die Mitspieler bekommen ein Spiel nach dem anderen und Du selbst meistens nur kleine oder Ramsch wo die KI das meistens so einrichtet das Du verlierst.Vielleicht sollten die Entwickler mal darüber nachdenken das Muscheln nach dem Spiel zu überarbeiten. Im Moment ist das Spiel so ausgerichtet das Du keine Chance hast gegen den Computer zu gewinnen bei den wenigen Spielen , wie kann es sein das ein Spieler in einer Session zwei Grand Ouvert spielt und ich in meinen ganzen Leben bisher nicht einen einzigen. Trotzdem geht‘s weiter 18,20, 2 ….passe , bis zum nächsten mal Jürgi .

Where did the Mice go?
Excellent game! I play SKAT twice a month with a SKAT Klub in Fredericksburg, Texas, many of whom have played here for 40+ years. Several of them play regularly in the Texas SKAT tournaments. We all speak Texas German. The game helps me try riskier bids and plays. But... I miss the two mice and would like the option to have them back playing with me.

Leider nach letztem Update total unglückliche Spielstandsanzeige :-( Die Alte war 1000 mal besser und übersichtlicher! Schade, jetzt ist der Spielgenuss mehr wie eingeschränkt.
Gutes Skat-Spiel
Leider immer wieder unerklärliche Abstürze. Man wird als nicht zuverlässiger Spieler bezeichnet und mit Zeitstrafen bestraft obwohl die Abstürze durch den Server verursacht werden. Sehr ärgerlich und schon seit langem bekannt und nicht abgestellt.
Great version for IPad
This game plays great and has plenty of options for the many scoring and game variations you may be accustomed to. I have played thousands of games already. I wish it had an online multi-player capability.

Skat HD for iPad
This is an excellent Skat game and better than the nearest competitor I found (ProSkat). There are a couple of things I would like to see in any updates: the single player can give "Kontra", but the game would be even more interesting if the computer mice players also could declare Kontra, or "Re" if the program calculated your Kontra is likely to fail. (Uwe Rasche's good PC/Mac Skat games have this capability.) I also wish the mice had slightly more different voices, as I occasionally have trouble keeping straight whether it's "Jerry" or "Speedy" doing the bidding. And if you're not extremely careful to note which mouse is forehand or backhand or dealing, you might find yourself passing on a game where you get stuck playing a "Ramschrunde" that you'll lose. It's also too bad that in order to make the game totally be played in German, you must change your entire iPad language setting to German. I wish you could just toggle the game to German, independently of the overall language setting. And the mice don't always play their strongest card, sometimes hanging on to a trump card (especially in a Grand match) that really ought to be played earlier. But these points are minor in the grand scheme of things; the game plays quite realistically and is in my opinion "sehr unterhaltsam" -- very entertaining. Joe Ritchie p.s. - I see my iPad saved my old review. I came back because the latest update seems to have made a substantial change, which I do NOT like at all. All of a sudden all the games are scored with "tournament scoring," and when I attempt to switch it back to "classic," I cannot. Das ist furchtbar frustrierend! (I wrote the above over a year ago. Here's a totally new post -- not exactly a review, but a couple of pertinent comments I was unable to send via the website: I really enjoy the game (hervorragend!), and I like some of the new features, like the ability to add photos instead of the dumb mice (cute at first, but after awhile, boring!). I made one of my regular Spielpartner a photo of my Thai girlfriend, so the basso profundo voice is quite weird. Is there any way in future versions to add a variety of voice options, including female? Also, though the players usually are clever and strong, but one weakness still persists: when you are playing against the single player (d.h. der Spieler, der am höchsten gereizt hat), often when he (or she) plays a lower trump (z.B. Herz- oder Karo-Bube), the other player doesn't seem to get it that you are likely to take the trick and does not play a high-value card in his hand, like an ace, 10 or at least a king (schmieren!).... Hope you guys can work on that. Still, I've had many great Skatrunden with this game.
Computer Player is cheating
Hier stimmt etwas nicht, seit dem letzten Update. Mitspieler spielen unlogisch … „klar werfe ich noch eine 10 rein, wenn der Alleinspieler mit dem Alten Trumpf zieht und ich kein Trumpf mehr habe“ „ klar reize ich bis 36, spiele Null Hand und gewinne das Spiel“ ??? So macht das kein Spaß
Universal App?
Die App ist gut gemacht, keine Frage. Aber es ärgert mich schon, dass es keine Universalapp gibt. Es scheinen rein wirtschaftliche Gründe zu geben, jeweils 10€ zu verlangen. Wer die App haben möchte, zahlt so oder so 10€. Wieso man sie dann nicht auch auf dem iPhone oder Mac nutzen darf, erschließt sich nicht.
The closet thing possible
Being German in the US, I have a hard time finding people to play with. This app is just hard to beat. Even the basic bar background is just as at home. Thanks for bringing a feeling of home to my iPad.

Well done, but questionable plays
I agree with other reviewers about strange play like giving away an ace to the player when a no-point card could be played, then to play a lesser card when partner wins a trick. Happens a lot. I provided detailed hand to the developer and he must know because of these reviews, but no fix. Like some others I am frustrated by allowing only tournament scoring. The settings have options for classic and bock round, but the app won't let you select them. I have written to the author three times, but no reply. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

Spielliste verzögert das Spiel
Das man neuerdings die Spielliste versteckt hat ist nicht gut für den Spielfluss. Es muß zweimal getippt werden um dort hin zu gelangen, das verzögert das Spiel und ist ärgerlich am iPad mehrmals klicken zu müssen. Das geht besser, und vorher war es gut erreichbar. Die Sinnigkeit erschließt sich mir nicht. Bitte wieder zurück an den bisherigen Platz oder als eigenes Ikon platzieren. Außerdem finde ich es nicht gut, das man seinen gedrückten Skat nicht noch einmal überprüfen kann. Das ist schlecht und unerfreulich. Würde ich mich freuen wenn es da ein umdenken bei Euch gibt. Spiele nahezu täglich. Dankeschön und weiterhin viel Erfolg.

Could be better
AI players make odd moves, i.e. not trumping a 10 but a queen on the next move. It would be nice if AI engage in Kontra and Re. Overall ok

Fair deal?
I don't believe the game deals the hands fairly as a couple of others have pointed out. It plays pretty well, but the computer players do make some bonehead moves as do I. It is not unusual for me to only bid and play 3 hands in a 36 deal game. While I have a higher average score than the computer opponents it is not fun waiting for the cards to turn for a few hands. I am amazed at how often I have to face highly unlikely distributions.
Ständige Abbrüche beim Online spielen
Seit einigen Tagen geht auf dem iPad nichts mehr…auch nicht nach einer Neuinstallation der App…ständige Verbindungsabbrüche…was ist da los?
As Promised
The game works as promised and well for me. No regrets buying it after using it for several weeks on both my phone and iPad. Not sure if and why anybody would like the mouse theme but fortunately one can turn it off to focus on what matters. Just like others I noticed the computer makes some bad plays even if one sets the computers memory to the best setting. For me it doesn't happen too often so I can live with it.
Cheats Too Much
This would be a good game if not for two things. 1. The human player rarely gets a playable hand. It gets boring having to pass all the time. Not enough to bid suited or grand but just enough not to bid null. The AI never has a problem and always has a lot of trump. 2. The price is a little high.
Send this wizard back to school for training.
Plays very dumb moves. When it suggests moves you will lose. Pathetic. Get a smarter program.

The card distribution does NOT work well
I've played dozens of times and am convinced that the card distribution is not random: far too many hands are what my Swabian neighbors used to call "Omas" - so easy a grandmother can win them. Very frustrating.
Good app
I have been an avid Skat player ever since my youth. Now I live in Bavaria where Skat is not well known so great to have some computer buddies even if they are funny looking mice. Game skills of the mice needs to be improved here and there. Rules like "long way, short color" need to be adhered to better. Also, the mice don't put points in ("schmieren") when it is obvious that they should. Overall, though good game. Ulrich
If only it would not cheat
This app rates 5 stars for playability, flexibility, and precise adherence to rules - all rules but one: it cheats, without qualms, and consistently. For example, if you play "null" and hold a nine without the seven and eight of that suit, and if the app is honest, then you have a 50% chance that the seven and eight are not both in the hand of either player. If they are never in the same hand but always distributed, that is proof that the app cheats. It also cheats in other ways, it will give itself 7, 8, or even more trumps ( out of 11 ) with disproportionate frequency. Fear not - it gives you chances to get the better of it. For example, it plays "ramsch" very poorly, failing to rid itself of "losers" early in play. It makes up for that by playing "null" brilliantly, as if it could see all three hands ( it almost certainly does - meaning it cheats in that way, too). Despite these severe flaws, you can have fun playing this app. Just recognize that you are playing a weakly playing cheater - you will not be disappointed in that. Goetzkuno.
Very promising, but not yet perfected
This game is worth the money if you like to play Skat. However, there are still many bugs that need to be corrected. The game keeps crashing, especially before you've had a chance to look at the score and ask for a review. Also, the English translation is poor. "Plenty points" for "ein fetter Stich" is incomprehensible. "A lot of points" might be at least correct, but even that is awkward. I would also appreciate the option of playing not only 3 bock rounds, but also 3 Ramsch rounds. The only Ramsch possible so far is if no one bids. Still, even though this game needs updating, I'm still enjoying playing it.

fun and good practice
So far, this is, in my opinion, easily the best Skat app. The mouse theme and voices do not work for me, but that can be turned off. I do better than the AI, which, I am sorry to report, means that the AI is rather weak. Indeed, the computer's play is sometimes simply inexplicable. That said, Skat is a great card game, and this is a fun app that was for me well worth the price.

The game is ok, but sometimes not on the right way to play it! Nobody would play out a blank 10, or not playing an ace and a 7 instead when the take is a Jack. But then the next Jack comes from the game keeper and here comes the ace! Small things and if possible to be fixed. All over ratings are good.
