Great app
Works; great classical music; for some reason I listen to this over the New York City or san Francisco classical stations.
Impossible to switch between listen and watch. The old app was simpler and easier to use.
The two separate apps for listening I’m watching are totally unnecessary, and the money spent on them could be better employed. Don’t fix what ain’t broken. A royal pain this is.

There is ‘good’ and there is ‘ good enough’ - this app is good enough Navigating around the various news articles is a bit clunky
Where is the classical playlist
I really miss the playlist which was included in the former WNED classical app. Please bring this to the new app.

An indispensable source of news
My favorite feature is that any time during the day, I can go back to my favorite show and listen selectively, “fast-forwarding” Super portions that do not interest me. I can also “rewind“ if I didn’t fully understand some thing the first time around.

App seems to randomly lose the stream and never reconnects. Restarting the app doesn't help. Love the content when it's working though.

I find it very disappointing and hard to get Classical Music, which was once easily accessed by just one tap.
No longer works on iPod
This was great app once upon a time. Used it everyday. An old version still works on a 4 year old iPod. The current version crashes on opening, or is so disfunctional that I can't use it. I live in Hawaii. Goodbye WBFO!
Shuts off automatically
I opened the WBFO app and pressed play to listen to the 7 am news today. The app stopped playing in the middle of the first story following the news. I was in the shower and couldn’t do anything until after. This happens a few times a week, including when I’m listening in the car. When it happens, the app completely disappears from the open apps on my phone and I have to reopen it. This has been going on for a couple years now, but finally got around to reviewing it today. If there’s a place to review in the app itself, I couldn’t find it.
Nice to use when away from home but a bit buggy
This app is great because I can listen to WBFO while away from home, but it takes a long time to load, the stream frequently cuts out, the ads play every time you launch it even though I just heard it 20 minutes before.
Gets the job done without any glitches
As a 50 year listener to NPR I really enjoy being able to directly link to local news stories. I have not had any issues with this app even though the IOS updates seem to be increasing by the week.

This app sometimes works ok but mostly plays for 1 minute or 2 and then quits, and nothing will work to make it play. Its not my device, its definitely the app, and restarting or redownloading does nothing to fix it. It just does not work again until sometime later in the day. I have a latest Ipad and the latest operating system. My solution was to download the app of NPR in Madison WI where I used to live, and that works perfectly! It never fails, never stops, so clearly its this app that is the problem. However, they have a different schedule there than here, so its a pain. I wish this would get fixed, its been like this for years. Doesn't anyone care at all? I see lots of users with the same issue.

I am a NPR junkie. I listen to this station often. However, for the most part this app is really a waste of space on my iPad. The news stories are rarely updated which is very frustrating.

Frequent crashes since the update
I used to listen all the time, but since the app update it crashes frequently. It’s very disappointing and frustrating.
Good, but Visually A Mess
I use the NPR app almost all day, every day at work. It's invaluable and it's hard to imagine my workday without NPR. But the app itself is very cluttered and feels clunky. Things load slowly. The stream pauses frequently. With an overhaul to more closely reflect the NPR brand and the aesthetics of its web site, in addition to addressing the slowness and pausing, I'd rank 5 stars.
No background streaming?
No background streaming within the app? What's the point? I can just use a safari bookmark and delete the app to save space. Fix this functionality or the app is rather redundant.

Latest iOS 11 update killing battery
Ever since I updated to ios11 running the app for about an hour in the morning is draining my battery a significantly increased amount vs ios10. I updated the app, hoping it would help but it has not. Not sure where the problem lies here: app or iOS. Otherwise the app is still functioning fine.

I love this app, and it works well every time I use it. I work from home and listen to the app much of every day. Easy maneuverability.

I opened the app and got a window that said “we upgraded the streams,” and then there was nothing.

Update broke streaming functionality
The update on 12/17/16 killed the streaming audio functionality. I get the usual ads for West Herr or Freed Maxick, and then silence.
Top notch in public radio
WBFO & WNED are my go-to apps for radio music & news. The apps are user-friendly and convenient.
Always crashes
App needs serious work to get the bugs out. I love WBFO and this app is just about my only way to listen at work. Please fix this terribly buggy app.

Plays for 1 min at best
Updated iOS and this app. Will not play for more than a minute or so. Spontaneously stops. You can press play and you will see the pause button as though it is playing. But then it stops without playing and gives you the play button again.
