Terrible Customer Service
NZZ worked on my Ipad but not on my IPhone. I asked about this and got nonsensical responses. It went back and forth five or so times, each time with silly texts from NZZ. I think I was dealing with a badly functioning AI. I canceled my subscription
Informativ und unterhaltsam
Grösster Bug: Wenn im Arukone ein Spielzug in Richtung rechts beginnt, verschiebt sich das ganze Spielfenster nach rechts und geht zurück zur Übersicht. Macht es unmöglich, Rekorde zu jagen.
Aggressives Upselling
Ich mag eigentlich die NZZ. Aber die Werbung wird trotz Abo immer intensiver und das Upselling zu PRO nervt nur. Lasst mich wenigstens die gesamten PRO Artikel ausblenden. Wenn ich mich genötigt fühle etwas zu kaufen löst das genau das Gegenteil aus: Ich kündige voraussichtlich beim nächsten Jahresbeitrag das gesamte Abo.
Die App ist soweit gut, aber…
…. wieso wiederholen sich seit gefühlt ewig beim runterscrollen die Beiträge plötzlich und nach einer Weile kommt man gar nicht mehr weiter runter, sondern springt wieder hoch in die sich wiederholenden Beiträge…? Bitte beheben, das nervt voll!

Family Sharing
Sehr gute App und natürlich auch eine 1A Zeitung. Wünschenswert wäre die Family Sharing Funktion, so dass alle im Haushalt vom Abo und von den Zeitungsartikel profitieren können. Die technischen Gegebenheiten sind von Apple verfügbar. (Bei Hilfe / Fragen mit der Implementierung, bin ich gerne bereit zu unterstützen…)
Nicht ganz neutral
Die Berichterstattung der NZZ ist leider nicht ganz neutral. Das merkt man vor allem, wenn es um Israel und den nahen Osten geht. Die NZZ wirk sehr pro Israelisch und stellt die Israelis als Opfer und Verteidiger dar, obwohl das nicht der Wirklichkeit entspricht.
Keine Kommentar-Funktion
Würde 5 Sterne geben, aber leider kann man nicht mitdiskutieren. Heutzutage undenkbar! Ich würde mich so sehr auf diese Funktion freuen.

Even my old aunt is more aware of problems...
NZZ used to be called “Die alte Tante” back in its paper-only days, suggesting a need for both, respect and patience. My real life aunt turned 100 last year, yet she seems to be more aware of problems to be fixed than NZZ is. Both NZZ apps (iPhone and Android) have been largely dysfunctional for months, there isn’t even an iPad app for regular NZZ subscribers, and the e-paper app tells me my subscription is insufficient, without informing me what or how to change this. As an Android phone user with an iPad, I have been unable to read NZZ without annoyances for months. What am I paying my monthly subscription for? Is anybody at Falkenstrasse in Zurich aware of the damage done?
Translation missing
Adding AI translation to other languages would be hugely beneficial instead of using browser.
Werbung und Abo
Die Art, in der einem in dieser App Werbung aufgezwungen wird, ist kaum auszuhalten – bei einem bezahlten Abo notabene. Die interessanten Artikel sind dann meist gesperrt, da ich nicht die Pro-Version habe. Inhaltlich mag ich die NZZ, aber das Abo-Konzept funktioniert für mich nicht.
Im Prinzip gut, aber Autoplay nervt
Die App ist nicht schlecht, aber was wirklich nervt, ist das fehlende Möglichkeit, Autoplay für Videos zu deaktivieren. Nicht cool, wenn man in der S-Bahn Nachrichten lesen möchte, und dann mit voller Lautstärke ein Video loströtet. Bitte unbedingt nachbessern!

Pro-Artikel
Ich habe ein Abo für über 200 Franken pro Jahr gekauft (nur digital) nun muss ich für das Pro-Add-On nochmals 220 Franken bezahlen? Im Ernst? 200 Franken im Jahr war es mir wert, aber jetzt werde ich bei der Erneuerung eher downgraden, als upgraden.
Kein Customizing
Eine App, die nur so von Fehlern strotzt, darunter mehrere, die ich echt peinlich finde für ein Unternehmen, das journalistisch höchste Qualität produziert. Bugs kann es immer geben, aber dass diese über Monate nicht behoben werden, ist nicht zu entschuldigen. Die NZZ sollte sich dringendst einen neuen Partner für ihre mobilen Produkte suchen.

Trying multiple times to install and reinstall the app it does not work at all. Nothing happens you can not login nor does any content come up.
Bitte keine Automatismen
Ich mag die App sehr und nutze sie mehrmals täglich. Was mich stört: zueilen wechseln Darstellungen automatisch (Würfel, der sich dreht, z.B. ). Für mich sehr unangenehm. Ich möchte alles direkt selber steuern und keinerlei automatische Wechsel oder Abfolgen. Besten Dank!
Wenig hilfreiche Kurzübersicht „Bubbles“
Leider ist die App seit der Umstellung auf die Kurzübersicht „Bubbles“ viel umständlicher zu bedienen und letztlich für NZZ-Leser, welche an den top recherchierten Artikeln und eben nich an Kurzversionen interessiert sind, nicht dienlich. Ich wünsche mir, dass die Themenbereiche wieder einfacher zugänglich werden. Die „Pulldown“ Lösung wie sie derzeit besteht, ist unbefriedigend.
Tolle Inhalte - nervige Pro-Artikel
Ich finde die NZZ Inhalte top und es macht Spass, diese zu lesen. Nervig ist hingegen, dass auf der App die NZZ-Pro Artikel nicht ausgeschaltet werden können. Das erinnert an billige Werbung für weitere (wahrscheinlich auch erneut sehr tolle) journalistische Inhalte und sollte m.E. in einer zahlungspflichtigen APP nichts zu suchen haben.

Worked well for a couple of months, now all I get is a blank screen. If you like the void of information go for it, if you are looking for news move on.
The update has fixed the issue
App used to stays all white, only menus and logo appearsed. Since the update, the app shows the articles again. Updating my stars rating back to 4
störende vorselektion
in meiner wahrbehmung (im vgl bspw zur papierausgabe) füttert die app mich im sinne „filterblase“ mit nzz-seitig selektionierten artikeln. das nervt mich inzwischen ziemlich: die nzz will besser wissen, was mich zu interessieren hat…
Guter Inhalt aber vieles nicht zugänglich.
Viele Inhalte sind gut, aber viel zu viel ist nur für ein Pro Abo erhältlich. Dann aber wird die NZZ teurer als Publikationen wie die FT, die insgesamt doch noch einen höheren journalistischen Standard bieten.

Dysfunctional
The graphics and layout is fine but after some time the app won’t let you access content anymore despite having a digital subscription. If I try to login it always says that this subscriber is already linked with the account. Several attempts to re-install the app where not successful. Very bad! I will have to cancel my subscription.
Love the App and the content, but...
since i upgraded to the iPhone XR the App doesn’t show any content anymore, the buttons at the bottom and the top appear, nothing else. I re-installed and rebooted the phone still no luck.
App funktioniert schlecht
Möchte man einen Artikel hören, ist er oft falsch verlinkt bzw. die App spielt den falschen Text ab. Möchte man das Passwort ändern, lässt sich das neue Passwort in der App nirgends eingeben. Bei einem so kostspieligen Abo erwarte ich eine gut funktionierende App und nicht sowas.
Ganz gut aber mit potential
Die Kreise oben führen zur Kurzversion. ich möchte aber zur Rubrik springen. Ganz lästig: Bei jedem Ereignis , webung, reload, springt die Leseposition wieder ganz nach oben. Vor allem wenn man einen Artikel verlässt.

Credible, independent, no commercial bias discernible
The app rates perhaps as much as three stars, the content from nzz rates five. Nothing overly impressive about the app, it usually works and has not " crashed" recently. Der inhalt ist von hoechster Qualitaet, glaubwuerdig, serioes, for allem ist keine Voreingenommenheit fuer Firmen mit Anzeigen und auch keine "Angst" vor Behoerden erkennbar. Der horizont ist weltweit, nicht local oder regional beschraenkt. Diese Vorzuege finden sich bei englisch sprachlichen Blaettern selten oder nie.

No dark mode
Why is there in 2022 still no dark mode available? Also, jumping to the top by pressing „Neue Zürcher Zeitung“ after scrolling down doesn’t work, very annoying. I love NZZ news but the app is not worthy of them.

High quality content in a very well designed and stable app. Nothing less expected from the leading newspaper in the german speaking part of switzerland.
Funktioniert night mit iPhone X original
Die Ikone sind da, aber wo die Schlagzeilen und Text sein sollte ist nur ein weisses Feld. Ich kann auf Startseite und Meine NZZ tippen und die tauschen sich aus, aber oben links auf dem Hamburger passiert nichts. Auch beim neuesten iPad Pro ist es so fūr mich. Tja, da muss ich mich halt mit nzz.ch begnügen. Habe schon ein paar Mal reinstalliert, ändert sich aber nichts. Mit meinem alten iPad 2 funktioniert die App aber prima wie schon immer. Seufzer.

The NZZ ipad app could "learn" a couple of things from this app for iphone, including about adjustable font size in article views. Overall, a very nice experience! Maybe facilities for "off-line" reading and refresh could be better.
It WAS good. But you messed it up
NZZ was good. You could read the news ticker without getting forced by annoying ads to buy something. Both is gone. Now it's an unstructured, average news app how you can find them everywhere. Do you really think you'll get more revenue with tha approach?
Some functions don’t work.
Great content from a great newspaper! However, functionality of the App for iPhone and iPad leaves much to be desired. I cannot access my Merkliste or Leseemphelungen on the App, as i can on the Website. Also, it would be Great if I could highlight and copy text on the iPhone App. Finally, we need a dedicated iPad App.

Gefühlte Verbesserung der App auf iPhone. Sowieso prima für unterwegs. Dazu kommt der sehr lesenswerte Inhalt ... Ein schönes, schweizerisches Produkt.
Stark Verbesserungsfaehig
Bilder laden teilweise gar nicht oder zu langsam. Font zu klein. Formatierung z.B. im Schmid Interview ist schlecht und zeigt HTML Zeichen auf. Fuer eine bezahlte Medien App eine Enttaeuschung.
News of high quality, app of lesser quality
Same app for iPhone and iPad, despite much larger iPad screen. We pay for a digital subscription, but after a week or so the app annoyingly wants us to re-login, and then rejects our every attempt. Our only successful workaround has been to uninstall and reinstall the app. Then we can log in, which works for another week or so.
