If I was rating on just the news it would been 4 stars but unfortunately I have to rate as a hole. The app is very very slow, it freezes up all the time, and it just shuts down a lot I mean like literally app just crashes and closes on its own

This is, by far, the worst news app of the three network TV stations in Charlotte. It's technologically shoddy and unreliable, and consistently has outdated information. As for the staff, their writing, spelling and grammatical skills are embarrassingly poor more often than not. I finally gave up and deleted it from my mobile device.
Where are Demany and Deneige?
Please bring back Demany and Deneige!! They are excellent partners!! I love the way they coordinate their outfits!!

I HATE the upgrade. All of a sudden a week or so ago news videos started playing automatically and won’t stop even when you close the app. If I wanted to watch or hear the video I should be able to control it myself. It’s really annoying to open the app to catch up on headlines and a video starts blaring, especially if I’m doing this in a quiet space like a doctors office or bed while my husband is asleep. So, I’m now considering deleting the app and finding a new local news source. I also could do with fewer push notifications of every, little, thing. Especially homicides.
Great News & Weather App.
I find the WSOC-TV news app to be very informative. I grew up watching WSOC News cast. Having their app is great for days when I am not able to watch their nightly news cast.
Horrible!
Do not depend on this app for your local Charlotte news! This app is constantly full of old news and outdated information and stories. It doesn’t get updated on a regular basis, and important stories can take days to make it to the app. In addition, they repeat the same story multiple times under different headings to make it look like there is a lot of news content. There isn’t. Sports and sports content are the worst, many times not updating results or providing a story until the day after a game is over. The app itself is horrible, with super tiny fonts that are hard to read and small pictures that you cannot see on the main feed. WSOC-TV is great news on television, but absolutely horrible on the app. You get better and faster news through social media than through the app. A waste of time to even look. They need to hire a good team of people just to run the app and redesign it! Truly disappointed in the WSOC news app.
Bait and switch??
I like this app, but have one issue. I’ll get an alert about a news story. I’ll click on the alert to take me to the story, but it just takes me to the apps main page. Story I clicked on nowhere to be found….
Outdated?
Your app needs to be updated to allow auto rotation from portrait to landscape when used on an iPad. I have submitted this comment previously but to no avail. Please strongly consider making this improvement.
Live on App
Please take the live off of the app! It is annoying to have there!! Not to mention it gets stuck and you can't make it go up alot of the time!

Too many bugs
Your app is so glitchy. The videos freeze and it crashes. I was relying on it for the news when you were no longer on YouTube tv. You’ve got a long way to go! Improve your app!
Restaurant reviews
Why is it so difficult to read the reviews. I tried for over 10 minutes to read the September reviews and finally gave up. Why does your report on N Myrtle Beach 4 day trip keep blacking out after a few seconds?
Bad connection
Checking news from around NC. 6 tv news sources. All are received fine except WSOC. Read one article and then. Dead space for several minutes unless I close app and restart. May need a network upgrade WSOC! Never happens on any other tv news.

Review of the app
Some stories remain on the app for weeks and weeks. This is a waste of my time to keep looking at this app. I look other places for my local news
Too much abut all the killings
Too much about all the killings and killers with rap sheets. Why not jail time or sent to Boys Town or inlist in army special training
Videos are doubled and audio plays even after app is closed
As a Charlotte native I trust WSOC-TV for my news. However, lately the app audio will start playing even when I am not in the app. I was in a meeting a work and even though my phone was on silent, the audio from a news story started playing. So embarrassing!!! This was not the first time either one night, in the middle of the night, it started playing randomly too. Also upon opening the app and phone being on silent it is also playing audio from a video that I don’t even care to see or watch. Please get this fixed! until updated, I will have to uninstall and go with WBTV

Notification links don’t even open
Repeat too many news events!!!
WSOC-TV repeat showing the same news events from one new cast to other new cast, especially on weekends. This cause me to turn to other local news stations. Need to show more current news events each day, not repeats. After the first 10 minutes of news, the repeats normally follows.
Video hangs and then plays double audio
Since the latest update, I have resorted to shutting the app down after only about 5 minutes of use. The live video abruptly stops and when it starts again, it plays double audio or even the audio from a commercial (of which now there are WAY to many). Until this is resolved, I will no longer use the app.
WSOC app
I hate the new format that has a video at the top of the page playing when I’m trying to read a story on the page. If I want to watch a video I will click on it. I get double play at once and it drives me crazy. You need to go back to the old format. If this continues I will fond another station to get my newa.
Time to delete
Not sure what’s going on with this app but I’m deleting it because it keeps opening on its own, randomly. I’m not sure if it’s a tactic to get the ads displayed or what but I’m over it.
Improvement idea
It’s a good app but we’d love to see a new tab or section we can click on for additional local news. There’s hardly anything local published but they do talk more local news on the show. You just can’t find it in the app.
Review
You write an article and only give us part of the story and end it with a statement that this is a developing story and to check v bc later for detail but that’s usually the end of it. Never hear what actually happened.

It’s playing double audio since update
Audio n video errors need to be fixed immediately; I can’t watch it even just read because automatically the app opens with audio playing. If I try to pick something else the original audio n new audio plays at same time. Then at times the video doesn’t open with error showing but audio playing someone but another audio is playing as well. Very annoying and I literally hate opening the app now, but sometimes I want to read and update in a story and there goes that audio, geez. Please please please fix asap.

Hard to read
Print is so small on this app it’s hard to differentiate the adds from the news story.
Used to be better
I liked their app much better in the past. More recently I keep getting alerts for nothing alert worthy, practically “it may rain tomorrow “ type stuff, or the equivalent of “it is cold out.” In the past I only received the severe weather alerts. I check my settings, should be just severe weather. Also, when I click on the app for the “weather alert” I get a screen full of advertisements instead of seeing the alert.
