Great Easy To Use
This is a great token app
Unnecessary vendor lock-in
Any company asking you to use this instead of any open standard (RFC 6238) TOTP authenticator like Google or Microsoft’s implementations is suffering from delusions of competency. There are ways to still use a standard implementation, but the UX of setting that up is a high barrier to non tech-savvy users. Ask for full FIDO2 support and use a yubikey for real security.
Was reliable—now cannot use for ShareFile MFA
I have been a longtime VIP Access user for MFA authentication. Recently, ShareFile required an MFA reset and VIP no longer works with the ShareFile QR code. I now have to use Google Authenticator instead. Please fix the ShareFile MFA incompatibility with VIP Access.

Does what it says
For what I use it for, the app is suitably cromulent. I wish there was some more integration with iOS, like being able to generate a code from a context menu or with a widget or from the control center.
iPad vs iPhone?
I’m making this as short as possible. There are two versions in the App Store. Being an iPad user, I had the iPad version. Surprise! That version was never updated with the feature that I was interested in, which was the transfer to a new device. So I downloaded the iPhone version. By doing that, my original install was wiped out. The serial number changed. I couldn’t use it to get into my E*Trade account. Luckily, I have a second install on my Android device. They need to immediately remove the “iPad” version and only have the one version.
Not sure how well they test, but it could be worse
The iPhone app at the very least does what it’s supposed to do, so it meets priority number 1. It also provides the ability to transfer credential id to a new device, even on a different platform. However, the most recent update (5.1.2) appears to have broken the Apple Watch version, it just shows spinning dots when launched now. I assumed a new update would be pushed out quickly to address the issue but it’s been quite some time since then. I currently have an iPhone 16 and Apple Watch series 10, so not exactly outdated hardware at the moment. Hoping a fix comes out soon, because the work around introduces a frustrating amount of slow down.
Works Well with Etrade
It was a little intimidating to install and activate at first, but ended up being fairly easy to set up and use with Etrade. After you install and activate in Etrade You will need to open the VIP app before you log into Etrade, then double tap the code to copy then paste into login screen. You can turn this security feature on and off in Etrade’s security settings. I plan to turn it off or delete it before I change or upgrade phones or devices, I’ve read that it can be a problem if it’s active when changing or upgrading devices. Idk.

Really bad UX, who came with the idea of having entering a number? The Apple Watch app is useless, since it asks you to open the iPhone app. Why even have one???
Bug when multiple credentials.
If I have 2 credentials then when I first open the app, only 1 of 2 credentials show. I must close then re-open the app for all credentials to be visible. Please address. Cheers.
Clunky and Shortsighted
I’ve had to use this app as an authenticator to e*Trade on my iPhone. What this app doesn’t make clear is that if you get a new phone YOU MUST GET A ONE-TIME CODE AHEAD OF TIME FROM YOUR OLD PHONE TO TRANSFER FUNCTIONALITY TO YOUR NEW PHONE. There is no way to transfer functionality after you have already transferred data to a new phone, effectively locking you out of whatever accounts require VIP access to log in. Now I’m on the phone with customer support for them to unlink my authenticator app.
Needs a widget like is has on android
On android this app has a widget that allows you to see the code right from the widget without having to open the app. Need this on apple.

I had no trouble setting this up for my financial account. It works well so far.
Would be nice but…
I would like this app better if I could move left or right or quit the app however no amount of 1,2 or 3 finger swipes move the app. No way to quit or move this app from the menu. Latest IOS version installed as of 2/19/26
Please provide widget
For iOS 14, please provide widget so that we don’t have to open it again and again. It’s there on homescreen.
Good bug has accessibility barriers
The app is very efficient and easy to set up but it has a serious limitation - the absence of a dark or high contrast theme. For partially sighted users this means it is very hard to configure and read. It would be great if the app respected the theme in the gphone.
Copy code inconsistency
The latest update introduced a bug that sometimes prevents copying the code. I never had a problem with that until this week. It copies sometimes but mostly does not whether I hold or double tap. Fix this please.

Was trying to setup 2FA for one of my sites and the app did not scan the qr code

VIP Access for IPhone
No longer use it but can’t remove it from my apps. What a horrible experience! I would not recommend using this app.

Tap copy now broken
This update ruins the app. It’s slower to load and run on the 15pro. The only time tap to copy the code works is after force-quitting the app but not after that. Fix this please.
Notification approval from Apple Watch is not working
Although the functionality on iPhone is good, whenever approving a request from the Watch, it’s a hit or miss. Very few times it works, else maximum times I have to approve from iPhone app. If the app is providing functionality to approve from Watch, at-least make it robust enough that it should work properly else remove it.

15 minutes later, phishing texts
I’m not sure I trust this app, after 15 minutes, I started receiving phishing text and scam calls about 2FA Google authenticator, which I have not received before. This is semantic they’re supposed to protect your information, not pass it out freely
Images on the details screen in the app store
The screenshots of the app that are included on the details screen on the app store have a vip credential displayed. When some people are submitting requests to register a credential to their account they are submitting the one shown in the images rather than the app on their phone. Could you possibly mask out the vip credential on the images. It's surprising how many people have submitted the wrong credential 🙈
Missing some features
This is better than no 2FA, but there are glaring omissions. The main is there is no way to backup the credentials. I have 2 iPhones but I cannot use one as a backup for the other. If I loose my main phone then I am locked out of my accounts which is a disincentive to use this app.
Not Secured with TouchID or FaceID
This application must be integrated with TouchID for sure, I don’t understand why it is not!! Anyone can open and use the security code.

No action on tap notification
I’m getting authentication requests on push notifications, however while tapping on push notifications it’s open app but not showing authentication pop up in recent versions
Great for PayPal but needs ability to have two credentials
We have two PayPal accounts as we have a Canadian and U.S. Corp account. It would be good to have two credentials so we can use the same app for both accounts. Please add as it is an easy request. Most people have more than one account (business / personal or several businesses). Love the new black skin but multiple IDs was more important.

Not able to setup Face ID
I’ve Face ID enabled but there is no option to secure VIP access app even though Face ID is mentioned in the application itself. I’ve tried from setting but again there is no option to enable Face ID.

Overall there is no so much work of this application rather than showing token id so it works fine. Can you add widget so it would be handy for us to use.

Convenient but very unreliable
Not having to type in the OTP is convenient when it works but most of the time there is either no popup in app even when a notification was received
Security upgrade for EBay and PayPal
I use it for both EBay and PayPal in the UK. Have had to use the reset function once which takes no time at all. Gives an additional layer of security when using both EBay and PayPal. This app generates a code which changes very frequently and which you add on to the end of your password to log in or to make a purchase. Nothing is 100% secure, but this is step in the right direction. To the person who called this app utter rubbish, you can register this in addition to your SecureID card on PayPal and use either, though you can only have one activated on EBay. In fact having both activated on PayPal may be the best solution as you will have the improved security plus convenience and also the assurance that you will not be locked out of your own account if you lose one Verisign method which according to other reviews can happen when you change mobile phones or reload the app. Disappointed that EBay only allow one Verisign Secure item to be active at any time.
Not recommended
If you have the previous version, don't upgrade. This version doesn't work as advertised. Double-tapping the code doesn't copy it to the clipboard. And there's no way to report bugs to the developer - typical Symantec arrogance. Wish it could manage tokens for my two PayPal accounts.
How to use proximity feature
I am using vip access on my mobile device . I tried the proximity feature by following instructions in app but could not see any code to scan on desktop vip app on my Mac machine . Am I missing anything or do I need to register the desktop vip access too along with mobile one ?
