I am a psychiatrist, I have used this app for years, myself and have recommended this and other apps in these series to my patients, friends and family.
Relax + was infinitely better
I’m really disappointed as Relax+ was brilliant. This is a terrible version. No music. No options for different modes. I used to recommend Relax + to my students around exam stress time and loads used it. Won’t be recommending this version.
Relax by Andrew Johnson
I have used and loved Andrew Johnson’s apps for years. They truly work to help me relax and sleep. He has the most mesmerizing voice. Nothing else compares. Having said that I wish he would update his old version of RELAX. The new version doesn’t flow as well. It is too descriptive and doesn’t have you count down as many times. It takes longer to relax and turn your mind off. It still works, but I miss the older version.
Original versions??
What happened to the original tracks for these? The updated ones seem to be much shorter - is it just me or am I crazy? They used to be over 20+ minutes long if I remember correctly…

Fantastic
This is a fantastic app! I use it to fall asleep when I’m having trouble doing so and it works every time! I even use it if I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep. I love Andrew’s voice and way of speaking. It’s so relaxing! Can’t recommend this app enough.
Paid for twice
Purchased with music when the icon was orange. Now the icon is blue and without music but the older version is available from the App Store for £2.99 with music. Hence the reason I no longer invest in apps for my phone.

I used this app on nights for many years and before the update it worked great with the music etc ... the update does not work no music to help to fall asleep .... soooo annoyed and disappointed 😢🥵
Works, but I have nightmares
I have used Andrews 'Relax lite' app for a while now, which was great but of course wakes you up at the end do I downloaded this app to get to sleep. The app works very well and i fall asleep quickly, however every time I use it I wake up a couple of hours later with nightmares... I almost never get nightmares on nights I don't use this app. Bit gutted really because it's great being able to get to sleep... But I can't do the nightmares thing every night :(

this app really helps me with coping with all of the stresses in my life. i rate it a 5/5 and i definitely recommend it.
Why did you change it?!
I’ve been using this app for almost 11 years. Now they have updated it and completely changed the relaxation programme, it’s entirely different. I want the one I paid money for originally! Such a shame, now it’s spoiled to be honest. No longer gives me the same familiarity and comfort.

I miss the original version
I miss the original version. His voice was gentler, slower, more space between words, especially in the induction phase. And the sleep option was more focused on sleep, even using the word in the dialogue. The new version sounds more wordy, distracting, and the sleep version doesn't even mention sleep in the guided meditation. Wish I hadn't upgraded.

Works for me
I don’t usually write reviews, but this app has really helped me. I used to have terrible anxiety attacks, racing thoughts at night, depression, etc. I was desperate for a natural way to relieve these symptoms, and somehow came across this app 10 years ago. The guided mediation is amazing, completely relaxes me and puts me to sleep every time. I set it on the “do not wake” setting, and just drift off... I dunno how he does it, but Andrew Johnson really does know how to calm the mind. Doesn’t work for everyone, some people think the voice is too cheesy since he does have a strong accent and some corny music playing in the background. But if none of that bothers you, and you can take it seriously, I highly recommend it !!!

I was skeptical but am amazed to find it works for me.

Andrew Johnson a big dissapointment. Never any updates for the true supporters that paid for more than one. All of his recording are just copied and pasted from old recordings. many bugs, and repetition of sentences, that proves he is about the money not pride in his work.

this app blew me away I didn't fall asleep and didn't keep my eyes closed the whole time but after it was done I was so relaxed.
Good relax app
The only problem is the performance of the app. It's terrible. Animations and interactions are very laggy. I can tell it's not a native Objective-C app - probably written using a utility for multiple platforms, which is unfortunate.

This deep relax app is the best app for stress relief, sleeping, anxiety, and anyone who needs to clear their mind. I am only twelve and I don't know that much about meditation but I have tried multiple apps and this is by far the best! At my school I have been through so much drama that I wasn't able to eat, sleep, I was constantly crying, and the nerves in my face were in a continuous state of twitching. I used this app and after even one session I felt better then I knew was possible. You must have this app it is the BEST! 😌😍

Calm soothing voice for relaxing sleep and hypnosis
Andrew Johnson’s voice is so calm, soothing and doesn’t irritate. This app will help you unwind and fall asleep. Highly recommend! I tried the free version first, but it “wakes” you up at the end. So I bought the paid version which allows you to drift off to sleep and never realize that you are no longer listening…. it’s perfect! I am wanting to try his other hypnosis apps since this relaxation sleep app was a very good experience!

Works Great
This relaxation ap works great for me. I listen to it almost every night and never can stay awake to hear it all the way through. I use noise cancelling headphones so it drowns out my husband's snoring and helps me focus on what A.J. is saying.
