Top Esports App
I have been wanting at least a decent Esports app to track teams and games. I follow LoL. This one is by far the best one. Design and navigation is decent. It’s awesome that you can view each region and the progress of the teams in each region. When it’s possible, having widgets and/or live activities for more features. That would be great
nonono
error! cannot open!
great app
really helpful app for tracking valorant but would be much better if notifications gave the overall score of the series/who won once finished (and individual final map scores would also be nice to see)
No tournament brackets
At least for Dota 2 there’s no way to see a full view a tournament brackets if they show at all. Even the mobile web page has the option.
not as good as the website
the website is goated but the UI for the app is trash. something they should figure out. it is still functional as a place for updates
Great App
It’s a great esports app, just what I was looking for. Gives game start times and shows the brackets with a nice simple UI. One suggestion or addition I could ask for is to add more esports like the Call of Duty League (CDL)
Why make it different
Just port the site to an app no need to make everything a pain to navigate.
plz add Heroes of the Storm
plz add Heroes of the Storm, thx!
Easy to read, webpage is more accessible and accurate still
(Valorant focused) As the title says, the app is quite simple and straight forward to navigate. My primary complaint is that the events shown on liquipedia’s webpage (including VCT Ascension and other VCT tournaments) don’t show up on the app for some reason. Some events will have titles but no page. I assume these are slowly being updated as it’s nice to go back and look at old tournaments and placements to track team progress and see brackets. Prize pools are also incorrect among other things for some events that are accurate on the webpage version. Another slight nitpick but I’ve noticed that my and some other coach/player pages have incorrect birthdays by a day when the webpage profiles are fully accurate showing that there is some sort of disconnect in the transferring of information. Once again many of the previously played or participated in tournaments for different players or teams, aren’t showing on the app when they do show on the webpage. TLDR; the app has significant potential for purely checking recent match scores, but if you want any of the other features liquipedia offers or to see ALL current tournaments, I would say it’s still easier and quicker to use the liquipedia webpage for now.
LOVE the web version…not the app
I really do wish the app were half as good as the website. And, truly I’m trying to be patient with the developers as they work on it more. But man, things are glitchy and clunky. I really wish coaches would be added to team rosters. That’s a simple ask, yeah? I also cannot edit anything on my profile. Overall, the basic function of the app is ok. I do get notifications of game and scores. I like being able to make favorites for teams and even players. Long way to go, though. Oh, and I am paying the yearly sub because I want to support the dev team and their improvements.
Come a long way!
It wasn’t the most intuitive app when I first installed it a while back, but the updates have really taken it a long way. I LOVE the alerts for when my favorite teams are playing and when tournaments are starting. There’s so many Dota 2 tournaments, it’s easy to forget about ones that are upcoming or ongoing. It’s also got a ton of fancy features that I don’t really have need for, but it’s nice that they’re there. Liquipedia is the premier source for all things esports, and this app is a nice supplement for users on the go.
Why Not PUBG
I’m a die heart fan of pubg mobile esports. When i downloaded this app and saw no PUBG Mobile data on the App,felt So BAD🥹. Please try to upload all the data of PUBG Mobile.
App not working
Tried to check the app to see when RLCS would start tomorrow and it hasn’t been working all afternoon. Haven’t had any errors before but good app overall
Application review
Guys? I would literally subscribe to you for money paying 2-3 dollars a month for all the content that is on ur website pc version. Literally all the teams picks bans, overview, group stages. It is also very user friendly. Here from 1 hours use I did not understand anything. Where are the pick bans located where o can see overview of the tournament on the Liquipedia page. I like the design itself, looks good everything else is not. 4+ years on the market lol
Solid but missing some features
I use this app to follow R6 and while I like the interface it would be really helpful to see which map the matches are taking place on as well as the side statistics. Also would love to have the option to follow Smash Bros on the app as well
Authority on Esports
The best esports source on the internet finally has an app! Perfect for following specific teams or individual events for any esport. I only encountered one bug while using it and the dev team responded to my issue quickly and had a fix out in a few days. I use Liquipedia all the time on my computer and now all the time on my phone.
Won’t connect, is this app still supported?
I downloaded the app on November 20th, can not connect to the app, do they still support it?
Just missing one thing
The app is great I get to see my favorites go against each other at any time but I just wish that the fighters were on the app like they are with the website mostly street fighter, smash and tekken the most popular fighters there are right now but other then that I love the app and hope to see the fighting games make an appearance in a future update
We don’t want spoilers!
The app functions well, but there’s not an option to turn off spoilers. When I want the option to see what time my favorite team is playing, I don’t want to see the results of previous games. I want to be able to enjoy the thrill of watching a game and not knowing what the outcome will be. I used the app a few months ago, deleted it the same day. Tried again yesterday hoping they’d fix it by now, but they haven’t, so that’s why I’m leaving a review. Hopefully the devs can change this, cuz I’d like to use the Liquipedia app as much as I use the website.
Early MVP
The app seems like an early MVP and suprisignly very distant from the web interface. I guess most of us are used to navigate the web interface and reach all the data we need/want and the app is now a shock where there was obviously a design decision made to go into a different direction (non wiki style) but frankly I follow Dota 2 most of the time and it’s frustrating to not see team rosters. Trying to generelize the data model for all games is hard. I wish you’d rather focus on game by game experience in-app before pushing an update. Thank you for the much needed app and hard work that has gone in to it. I hope you can iron out the wrinkels.
Amazing
From an RL fan, I can keep track of the multiple matches (ex. The Draw, RLCS, Johnnyboi) in a very easy way.
Best eSport site - worst app design ever seen
Wasted spaces, useless transition pages. Zero understand of user experience and human interface. You have the best cross table on the web, it’s easy to understand and follow, instead you opt for the useless, story-alike, space wasting score board. How do people check on the teams that they’re interested in? Tap slowly so they don’t miss it? There’re problem with the bracket view - why spend a whole page just to list [Bracket A- Bracket B], what if users want to view both so they can cross checking. It’s the very opposite of intuitive and minimalist design. Let user’s focus dictates what they want to see, and minimize the information shown on each bracket so it’s not overwhelming instead of stacking navigation view after navigation view. This app belong in the trash can for how useless it is. Please gives Liquipedia the app it deserves <3.
Has Overwatch Now!
This used to be a negative review, complaining about the lack of Overwatch (despite the app’s advertisement on OW pages of liquipedia) but now they have it! I’d rather just delete the review but that’s not possible.
Just Use The Website
On team pages or player pages, it seems like a ton of information is not being shown. I don't wanna miss info that I could see on the website. Ads make the app feel trashy. When searching, it searches over every game. I only care about about Rocket League. I don't wanna see CSGO results when I'm trying to search for a team. Devs, the app looks pretty but the functionality isn't there. If you fix these issues, I would definitely use it.
Great app but their is no Apex Legends
I downloaded the app bc I’m strictly playing apex legends. :( it’s ok I’ll just use the site
liqudpedia
this app help you knows something information about all player in dota.
Good idea to launch the app but needs more refining
I downloaded the app and it says I have no internet when I do have internet. I tried re entering the app but it still doesn’t work needs some more polishing.
Good but lacking some detailed stats.
Like the app design and has the all the games that I’m interested in following. Easy to use and intuitive design. My only real complaint is that they don’t present a detailed breakdown of the stats that I’m interested in. An example is in a LoL match the only stats you have is who won which map and the time it took to win. No stats for individual player KDA etc and no objective stats such as how many turrets and other map objectives a team took. Otherwise I’m enjoying the app and it’s a very convenient way to track the multiple esport leagues and tournaments that I’m following.
App requires too many clicks to view info
I think the app still needs some work - I think this could be useful if you follow multiple esports but single tournament view is not good for finding details about the tournament like participating players or bracket format. Everything is hidden under multiple menu clicks and half the time there are ‘TBD’ rows followed by the actual results? I like how the web view has most of the important info on one scrollable page, while the app feels like jumping from menu to menu and hoping you land on what you were looking for. If you are looking for a replacement for the website in app form, I would not recommend this app.
2 recommendations
This app is nice to have however it would even be better to add Fortnite as a game you can keep up with. I honestly do not care about any of the games that are listed. Personally however on your website you can search Fortnite tournaments the results search up the players from fortnite Etc. Having that on the app would be nice. Also having Call of duty or Call of duty league as one of the games you can keep up with would be nice it’s very popular and many people keep up with it. Those are the only 2 things I recommend other than that it’s a great app. Very well informed updates are good!
Helpful to follow games!
The notifications are amazing to know when teams I like go live! Excited to keep exploring and using the app.
Most unintuitive UI imaginable
How is it that the website this is based off of is better formatted than the actual app. This app is garbage. Hard to find anything you’re actually looking for. Nobody asked for “stories” to display results of matches. You have a gigantic ad banner that takes up majority of the screen real estate as well. Just add the website to your Home Screen and save yourself the headache
My thoughts on the app
First of all sorry for my bad English because it’s not my main language. I usually don’t write reviews but I thought I really have to send a message for all the people who are working on this app. I want to tell you guys to keep up the good work and please keep updating and making the app better and better because it has so much potential and future. I fully support you guys and I do see a bright future for this app. Of course there are lots of bugs and cons that I hope you guys fix them in the future and I know you will. Keep updating the app and keep up the good work my friends 🧡.
The navigation is horrible
I was stoked to see the Liquipedia as an app, hut now following a tournament is hard to keep track of things and I see myself just going to the website. Looks fancy and well adapted to mobile, but for a quick glance about upcoming matches and and current states, still feels complex to do such simple tasks.
Good and useful, can’t remove ads
I’m begging y’all to let me throw some money at you to make the ads go away
Finally!!!!
I just downloaded it, can’t tell you guys how much I hated having to open the browser on my phone to look for results! I know your app is still a work in progress but I’m so happy that finally you made the jump! As a SW developer I understand the hesitation! My 5stars go for the balls of making the app! I love Liquidpedia!
No Overwatch
Bruh
Best in the Business Right Now
I love the introduction to the app being able to choose your favorite games, teams and players to follow and scrolling through match results like instagram stories works surprisingly well. My one question is when is apex legends tracking coming to the app? Would have been an instant 5 stars with Apex, but I’m happy I have R6 and CS still
OWL not included
As this app is still relatively new, I’m sure this is something that’ll be added later, but for some odd reason it doesn’t include OW esports. OW is the only esport that I follow so bit odd.
Willing to pay extra for an ad-free version
Bout time we have an app for liquipedia. UI looks decent yet I still prefer the looks on the website. Maybe give us more customization options? Also an in-app wiki editor perhaps?
THE Esports Wiki in your pocket
I prefer this app to the mobile version of the website when I want to keep up with the scores of an event that is live. The core functionality of the app is solid and load times are great. Some other reviewers are correct in pointing out that the app could use some improvement or that it feels unfinished. Lucky for us, the dev team is responsive and appears to be working around the clock to push updates. Everything I reported in beta has been taken care of. At this rate I think the app will be in a place where most users are happy with it by the end of 2022.
Missing Overwatch
Title, why is there no overwatch in the app?
Great app, but still prefer the websites as of now.
I keep up with a lot of esports, mainly RL, VAL, and LoL. As cool as it is to follow the results of a specific team you like, this app is severely missing things like Champion/Agent selections for map, map results, overtime length, game scores, etc. Once all of those are added, I will definitely use this over my multiple chrome tabs for different leagues I am keeping up with. Great start though!
Hope it improves
Currently the app is quite terrible. Lacks information and UI to find relevant tournaments. Advertisement covers second half of the app. Please improve and I will use.
Not great yet, but getting better
I personally only follow RLCS so bear that in mind. This app is quickly approaching the best way to follow esports, although tbh that bar has been set pretty low for rocket league at least. The updates on match scores are pretty quick which is incredible, and discovering key events is getting easier with each update. My biggest complaint is that it’s difficult to navigate to key information like bracket results or region/global rankings. Or even team stats and such which I think aren’t really viewable as is. If there were easier to get to or shown in context this would be much better. Separate point, but the ad placement is really the worst I’ve ever seen for non-video ads. At this point I am desperate to be able to pay a one time fee or even a cheap subscription to remove them because it’s so obnoxious
Honestly Amazing
I know this app just came out but this app is beyond great for esports information. I’m into sports apps in general to keep up to date with things and I personally follow Rocket League just as much as I follow NFL. This app is so informative and simultaneously user-friendly. A future idea I think would be cool is fantasy rocket league (similar to nfl fantasy football) and this app has all the tools for it!! -OgFleem
Long way to go
The app still lists turbo and chrome as active on NRG roster. This doesn’t even like up with the website info. It also shows me rocket league Ireland matches? I don’t even know what that is let alone care about it. It should let me choose RLCS only. I’ll continue to use the website. This was a cool idea though, just not well implemented for my esport of choice. It may be better for league, dota, or CS, none of which I follow.
Other than ad placement it is good and expect it to get better
I use it for RLCS and Val and super handy to use on the go compared to the mobile website, desktop is still best but for a mobile interface this is the best of the other options
Glad it’s here but I can’t use it
I’m so glad there is an app for Liquipedia finally, but it is so unusable. The layout is so confusing and information has to be worked for. The home page gives me so much useless information and events that aren’t important to most people. Going to the website on my phone is still so much easier to navigate and get quick information from. Honestly I would have been so happy if the app was formatted exactly like the website. Disappointing layout and hard to use, hopeful that they will make it easier to use and more simple.
Has potential
Clicking the “Sign in” button does nothing and I’m assuming not being signed in is why following sports and tournaments and get notifications on matches doesn’t work. Notifications is the only reason I’d like to use the app over the website and with this feature unavailable to me, I find myself using the website exclusively over the app.
