Get it right please
It would be great if the coin identification for the year and even sometimes the type/denomination of the coin were more accurate. If current year coins are not yet in the database, please don’t miss-identify the coin as from some years earlier. In addition, when trying to identify the same coin, the year is inconsistent. The coins to which I am referring are new and the markings are unmistakable. I am unable to add these coins to my collection. If current year coins are not able to be identified correctly, it would be helpful to include a disclaimer or explanation in lieu of mis-identification.
The app not helpful for my use
This hell app was not helpful for what I was looking for I didn’t give it a try. It’s not user-friendly. I did cancel with in a few days into the “free trial” and I was still charged the year subscription fee. $39.99 upon requesting my refund that should have never been charged . Now I’m out $39.99 for an app that I couldn’t use and difficult to manage Do not download this app.

This doesn’t work
Took pictures of silver dollars that the app thinks is a nickel. Could not see where I could change to look at the correct coin. The pricing offered such a broad range of makes thin pointless.

I like CoinSnap better than any other coin identifier. I have not found any super valuable corn yet I like how CoinSnap takes the picture on its own and pulls up the amount right away and tells me about the fine value.

App lacking in some areas.
I am not a writer so please keep this in mind. From the few months I have used this app I have found it in general meeting my needs in cataloging my collection. With that said there is definitely room for improvement. First and foremost identifying fake coins. I tested the app with a fake 1994 5oz China Panda silver plated. The coin app failed to recognize the obvious flaws in the fake ( eyes curve, the difference in the 1994 curvature, the different patterns in the tree background ext. ). That AI cannot be trusted to identify a fake so do not trust it. Second is the lackluster updates to bullion coin value that still have not been adjusted. Almost all 2026 coinage has not been updated. It’s almost September so this should have been done get to work! 3rd Grading is way off. The AI does not seem to be able to adjust or identify to toning in its algorithms and this can alter a coins value significantly. Environmental damage causing a dark or uneven toning or even gunk on a coin does not seem to alter how the AI grades a coin. I give this coin app a rating of 3 for the help it has given cataloging and ease of use for general purposes.

I’m 84 and into the coin hobby venture too and have found that CoinSnap is probably the best app out there for me. It’s easy to use and its grading is phenomenal. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants to take coin collecting as a hobby or as a financial venture great way to urge you to save money and at the same time, you could be saving something that could be worth millions in the future! Most important it requires one room or garage you probably enjoy with the family. Relax looking for special coins the family especially the kids that are managing their finances. Highly recommend to everyone especially managers and families. I’m sure you can tell by now I really don’t like this app ha ha good luck and have fun. Have a blessed day. J.c. hutchinson
Complain
I pay for this app, but it doesn't work 100% correctly. It gives me one price, then I scan it again and get a different value—what is going on here? Am I being ripped off? Is this not accurate?
Update year
It’s good for the most part. But now that it’s 2026, it might be a good time to update the year since there’s 2026 coins now.
Disappointed
The app incorrectly identified four of my coins, valuing them at £3,630 each. However, I have the official certificates for each, identifying them as sovereigns - each actually (currently) valued at £760. The app told me my collection is worth £23,000. It’s actually worth around half of that.
Changes or updates needed to the app
I would love to see the app not only scan and catalogue coins but alao if your collecting what coins are left to Collect like a catalogue of coins that are needed by year and coin type that you would find on other coin collectors apps buy they do not have complete sets listed Can you do anything to Make this possible ?

All prices shown on the value are an estimate, not the actual price.It just thinks up a price and doesn’t care what coindition coin is. Also no error or mintmark checker.

I work at a convenience store and am always looking for old change so this app is a huge help when I find a rare one I can open my app & it immediately identifies it & gives u a guesstimate as to it’s value!
Has not updated correctly
This used to be a very good identifier since the price of silver has gone up very much so it does not even give the correct price for graded coins, or very rare ones as well. Everything seems to be the same. It says 69 because they’re giving you the price of silver and the melting price. It no longer gives you the correct price of the coin. I think you need to fix your app.. It used to be a lot more consistent. I hope you fix the problem.

I signed up on 9/22/26 for one month trial for 0.99 cents. I also clicked on notify before renewal. It stated renewal was on 9/22/26 but on 8/24/26 they hit my account for $43.95. I was trying this app & Coin Chat. And I found coin chat was above & beyond this app. & Coin Chat is free.

Great starting point to start organizing, identifying and value made easy. Doesn’t seem to help identify errors or similar coins to look out for rarity or high value coins
Alright but disappointed
It told me my coin was £106 but I later found out it was £1.16… I give it two stars for getting the history of the coin correct but still EXTREMELY disappointed and would not recommend if you are a coin enthusiast like me.

It’s been a good app this far. Some coins for some reason it can’t get right, even when the date is clear. The other issue I have is, it seems to lose coins that you have saved. Not just a couple but several and how do you know which ones have gotten deleted somehow. 3.5 stars for sure, if it wasn’t for it losing coins that you saved if definitely would of gave it 4.5

Doesn’t find errors. I’ve put many coins in this apps scope that have defined and noticeable errors and it does not spot them. It’s a good app but by no means is it what it is advertised as. This app could loose you a lot of value in your coin. It’s designed to spot “known” errors…possibly. Will not find new errors at all.

This app is less than mediocre. It doesn’t update satisfactorily enough with the current coins out in circulation. I’ve been waiting months for them to input the U.S. Semiquentennial coins-they still aren’t current. When you submit an issue to the company, it doesn’t get resolved & you are always answered by a robot~not a human. You would think that for an app that you are paying a subscription for the service, it would actually provide “service”!!

Unreliable identification
It’s misleading that this app is advertised as free when in fact you have to have a paid subscription after the trial period. It’s also a bit hit and miss with coin identification. It sometimes gets it right, but managed to identify a 1989 UK half-sovereign as a 1600 Bohemian thaler and a James I shilling as a sixpence, in spite of “XII” being clearly visible and legible on the coin. It also frequently misreads dates. I’ve cancelled the subscription before I had to pay.
