Simple Concept, Great Game

Great game concept, not for everyone because of difficulty. Rated lower than it should be because of people who aren’t good enough at the game. If you’re struggling slow down until you get good enough to go faster.

You will find better things to do with your 1 human life

Harder than any dark souls and significantly less rewarding. The main problem being the levels are often unlearnable as the sheer volume of moving hazards makes runs feel random as to wether you have the openings when you need them, and static hazards below often make attempting to wait for optimal timings near impossible. Add to this the random falling distance penalty and this is the most annoying game ever

Difficult to be difficult

There is a good balance that needs to be struck between punishment and difficulty. Bat to Bed is much too difficult for the sake of being difficult. Various objects and projectiles are crammed into each level, and each level is EXTREMELY long. I am a fan of games that are difficult that require a learning curve, but this is so difficult that it feels almost like a chore to complete. Most of the mechanics are really good, though, and the art style and aesthetics are well made. I think the game would be better if the levels were at least half the length that they are, but still just as punishing.

Best Offline Game

This genuinely is the best offline game I have ever played. The levels are challenging and get progressively harder which is amazing. When playing online, the ads are reasonable and infrequent. I have spent hours on this game just on 4 levels (I beat them all!) and loved all of it. I’m so excited for the fifth to release. The game may not be for everyone as it is difficult and definitely can make you rage.

Fun but i have a problem with level 1

It is fun but challenging, i will grant it that. But in the first level they introduce “frog buttons” and yet only use them in two situations throughout the entire level. It feels like a missed opurtunity

The game is AMAZING, I love the game, the title is creative, the concept is great! Level one could be a bit easier though, took me a week and a half to get past. Other than that, amazing game, it’s free, and once you start playing you will stay for hours.

Banner ads ruining the game

I saw another review talking about the banner ads as well and was horribly disappointed when I saw the developer response to that review. Instead of removing their intrusive ads that make the game less enjoyable for everyone who doesn’t want to pay for the game, they decide to further this filthy idea that somehow it is actually fine that they are cramming banner ads down your throat while you are already forced to watch 2 minutes of ads every 5 minutes you play the game. This is gross. When I originally saw this game online I wanted to support it because I love indie game devs. But this game is beginning to feel like every other awful mobile game that just juices every single user for every last drop of ad money they can possibly get. I would be willing to get over this if the developers weren’t trying to shamelessly defend themselves with the idea that the banner ads being intrusive is actually an outlandish opinion and a complete outlier. Because everyone loves ads! I have made a few games myself so I know that it takes a lot of time to make them. So why, after all the work you put into this would you throw all of that in the garbage just for a bit of extra ad money? The ads that you have every couple minutes make sense, you have to turn a profit somehow. But the banner ads that are constantly in your face as you are playing just ruin the entire game and make players want to support your game less.

★★☆☆☆ United States · v1.3.6 · 15 Feb 2026

Challenging does not equal fun

The game is $3 to remove the ads, which are quite a nuisance. Which I paid, so there’s that. I got to stage three and I’m probably going to delete the app. It’s very hard. The game demands precise movement and you have flappy bird controls. Getting hit puts you into a free fall that doesn’t end until you land on a flat area. I’d like it if I was able to do anything during the fall instead of just watching myself lose progress for 10 seconds. After beating a stage you get “rewarded” with a skin. I thought I’d be able to use the frog staff or something. Beating a section doesn’t feel good enough to offset the frustration from getting launched into a random cannonball only to fall to the beginning of a stage. The game seems to be still in development, so maybe I’ll wait until it gets updated. The game has one button, but I’d like it if the devs veered from flappy bird and gave the players more depth.

★★★☆☆ Canada · v1.3.6 · 26 Jan 2026

A good idea that needs some adjustments

The biggest thing is that rapidly flying hurts my finger over time, so there should be an accessibility option to hold to fly. The bosses are also way too cycle dependent, to the point that if you aren’t a perfect speedrunner you are practically forced to get hit. The balloon falls at just the right speed to make it impossible to properly wait for a good cycle, and if you end up above it you’re guaranteed to either hit it down or get hit by something as you try to get below it. The worst part of the game so far is the race in firethorn forest, since the fire spitters will force you to get hit if they shoot at the wrong angle, and if you get hit past the beginning of a section you just have to give up and wait for the race to restart because it becomes impossible to get back up in time. Losing your entire progress for a single mistake there is awful because the projectiles are extremely inconsistent and hits feel arbitrary, where I genuinely can’t think of a way I could have avoided them other than just happening to have them shoot in a better position. I’m not sure if ghost coast’s boss is better since I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I’m far from optimistic. So if the game didn’t wear out my hands and the bosses were made to feel consistent, this game would be practically perfect

★☆☆☆☆ United States · v1.3.6 · 3 Feb 2026

Bad game design, the dev definitely needs a course or two on design

This isn’t a game; it’s a middle-finger to anyone with a functioning brain. The developers clearly confused ‘chaotic difficulty’ with ‘absolute lack of agency.’ You can spend hours perfecting your movement and learning the mechanics, but none of it matters when the game decides to end your run with a random fireball shooter that for the most part shoots purely random. I mean the game is fun (or so it could have) if they numbed down the number of luck based parts. I feel like the devs don’t know how to make a hard game so most of their ‘difficult’ parts are just chaotic or luck. Nothing that says “you need skill to win”. Any way hope your next game is better

Feedback

The game is good, I’ll start with that. Hard, but not impossible. Satisfying to get better at. My only complaint at this time is that I finally got a diamond coin on the first level, and my save was deleted. I paid for the “Royal Pass” and 3 times I have loaded up the game and it has been gone. Thankfully there is a restore purchases function. However it was very frustrating to see my diamond coin was deleted after spending 6-8 hours to get a good enough time. I’d be glad to see this issue fixed.

Game is challenging but sometimes straight up unfair

The game is very fun and the art style is cool, but I can’t help but feel like sometimes failing is not my fault. The enemy hitboxes are sometimes larger than expected, and the way they suddenly snap when changing directions is annoying. Additionally, sometimes I fall somewhere where it’s extremely difficult to save myself, almost impossible to avoid falling even further down. I like how challenging the game is, but building up experience and skill is difficult when you have to redo the things you’ve already done millions of times to attempt a tough part again. The main thing I dislike though is still the sudden enemy movements. I get that their paths are showed, but it still feels like their movements should be smoother.

Most unforgiving game.

This game, to put it simply, is way too unforgiving for the parts that are in this game. I’m stuck on the last part of the 2nd level of the entire game, and the lack of mini checkpoints, or even ledges in that part is just absurd. You try to race a ghost looking mimic of you. You race him, and once you start, your only checkpoint is the VERY beginning of the level. In each level, there are either no ledges, or ledges you couldn’t get onto, and the fact it’s timed is just absurd. The very final part of it forces you to go through over 30 different obstacles, while keep in mind, have 0 checkpoints with bouncing off the walls as your source of movement. I’ve seen your videos, and you saying “we know, but the whole point of it is for it to be difficult!”. No, an example of an actual forgiving game is hollow knight path of pain. All of it needs skill, and it feels like it’s your fault when you die, AND there are checkpoints. This game feels like Getting over It with the more unforgiving falls. Please add more ledges, and I don’t wanna hear and BS excuse.

Pretty good

Nothing you haven’t seen before but it’s a pretty cool game and the difficulty never seems too unfair. the way the game saves your state even closing the app is really good especially for a game like this. I would say 1>3>2 in terms of levels when I write the review but 3 and 2 are interchangeable, I just thought the idea of a race wasn’t well executed in the second level, and the third level was more creative in terms of enemies and timing. 3 stars because I wasn’t wowed at anything but not a bad game nevertheless.

enjoyable but tough

I want to start this off echoing the words of many other reviewers - the graphics and physics are excellent, and it feels like a very competently made game. One issue i do have is that it still feels a bit too hard for me. i’ve played (and finished!) my fair share of celeste/hollow knight/bloodborn type games so i think i understand the vibe they’re going for, but for me its just too tricky. level one took me literal days, and then it didn’t feel like there was much increase in difficulty going into level 2. level 3 again feels like a HUGE jump in difficulty and im still struggling along with it. Why not add checkpoints that take a few seconds to activate? people wouldn’t have to activate it if they didn’t want to, and the gold could be only accessible if you don’t use them. a plus of the difficulty, though, is the immense sense of achievement one gets when you do finally finish a level. i’m just not sure it’s worth all the frustration from before, and i wonder if that frustration will turn a lot of new players away from the game, as it very nearly did me.

Aggravating

Fun at first, but quickly becomes unfun. Many scenarios exist where falling is not your fault. I constantly try to land on ledges and miss until an ebony moves to a place I cannot avoid. Ceiling spikes are dumb, creating positions where you both must flap and cannot flap. The state of falling feels artificial, unlike other foddian games.

Third level

Fun game and enjoyed the first 2 levels. However the third level is a lot less enjoyable. Maybe it’s just a skill issue but the cannonballs and cannons seem to introduce a lot of rng and uncertainty into the game as it even encourages you to make a blind launch at one point. Additionally the few safe spots are 100% rng whether you land on them or not as they tend to not cover much ground (this level loves slopes). The level in general has a steep drop in quality in my opinion. Fun game but the third level takes a very different approach in its design and features which im not a fan of.
