I spend more time trying to log into this app than I do watching the content. It’s 2026 just pay someone to make a decent app that works.
Apps on different devices work differently
The iphone app, website, and on my IPad all work great but the app downloaded to my tv crashes 90% of the time. Love the content but software on the tv app could be de-bugged
Buggy
Difficult to log in despite doing it 500 times. Stream quality is great, except the video playback freezes and audio keeps going (also happens in the Apple TV app). Logs me out way too often. The menu navigation is super clunky. And there are other bugs that pop up periodically. I love the content, but the app user experience could be so much smoother.
Love the content, app needs help
Content incredible, app is pretty terrible. Auto log out is bullshht. App design is hard to figure out how to use for simple things. Make it easy like the iPhone so an 80 year old can use it.

i love stab and have watched their stuff forever this is the first time in my life writing a review, the app is so awful, hard to navigate, chunky, freezes every 2 seconds, half the videos are locked though im paying a subscription. ive paid for for this then any other streaming app and it is by far the worst experience out of any of them
Airplay not super evident.
The chrome cast feature is clear but also doesn’t work with many smart TVs. Airplay does work but is tucked away separately in a corner. Figured it out though but UX could be better.

No ap available on Apple TV or Roku platforms.

Great place to find surf films.
Disappointing
For a premium subscription account terrible experience. Terrible login experience it offers to send you a link and then take you to a Web app that does not correlate to logging in to the Apple Store app yet that’s where it sent us to login. Then, if you finally figure out how to login it will log you out randomly. Also, no video download support for watching on airplanes which is pretty important for surfers. I would think? Also adds everywhere consuming the bottom 1/3 of the experience again it’s a paid subscription, so not sure why ads have to inundate the experience. I don’t mind some tasteful ads here and there if absolutely necessary, but it’s like logging into TMZ. If you’re not gonna really support the app, just keep it all to the browser experience and don’t waste our time.

Love stab, and the app works decently well. I’ll definitely change this to 5 stars once they add articles to the app as well!
Limited and janky
Good to have another airplay option but the app, like the website, is poor quality
Nice but needs some love
I’m assuming this is coming but would love to have all of the articles on the app as well. It’s a little wonky in the fact that the website doesn’t allow you to cast to Chromecast, but the app does. Off to a great start, though can’t wait for more improvements. Glad I finally stepped up to the premium.

Unusable
The login experience is broken. You get stuck in a loop that asks you to verify a code and thus have to get the code but when you come back the screen recycles to the original screen to provide your email. If you take the sign in path link in the email they send it takes you to a blog page not the actual site. Please fix this.
Only one thing missing….
Took off one star cos there’s no chromecast. Best content in surfing though. By far.
Download Feature
Definitely a good start to the app, feel like it’s a little bit cluttered and a download feature would be nice.

Really high quality, fun, thoughtful surf content all in one place. Our go-to when we want some stoke in the living room :-)
App is a joke
Love the stab content but feels crazy that this is the app you get after paying a subscription, app development feels really unprofessional and load of bugs. Searching for content is next to impossible and it constantly logs you out. Would definitely consider continuing my subscription if they got some professionals in to fix their app
Great app but please add articles
Hey guys - huge props on launching the app. Can we please add article content to the app, it’s the main reason I dl’d the app. The video content I will watch on laptop / TV

Love the app, it’s so easy to have all the videos lined up on the screen instead of searching through articles. Would be even better to have the articles here as well!

Paid $10.99 for the monthly and it isn’t working.
A modest first effort
Needs to be fixed so it doesn’t pause airplay playback when switching to another app or when my device goes to sleep
STABnessly
STAB is the best Surf media in the history of Surf media. Yea It is the sendoff that i end every day with (ok, along with Insta, because real friends — but STAB is a friend too. )
Someone dropping the ball
Videos don’t load and nothing is updated just go to the site. Hey stab fire whoever talked you into using whatever backend system you used for the app, they hosed you.
Worth the wait
Very happy that STAB finally released the app. Unfortunately , it looks like it’s only videos and not articles but it’s still nice to bypass a mobile web browser. I’m sure there is more to come, if I learned anything from stab going to a premium model, it’s that you can’t underestimate them.
Why is there no playback bar when casting?
Halfway through something and have to start at the beginning again 😫😫😫

My stab app does not seem to be showing your latest releases and tells me I am not on line when everything else is on line on my phone
