Works so well!
This app works so well. It’s very rare that I get any spam texts. This app stop almost all of them. It did have some false positives but I used the custom filters to let through that content. I highly recommend this.

Junkman works amazingly well 95% of the time. I wish I could make Rules that applied to Spam, Transactions and Promotions simultaneously. Annoying political ads are still not being filtered out.

Extremely effective & Works with iOS26 spam folder
I’m very impressed with this app and it works much better than the built-in iOS 26 spam detection or Verizon Call Filter+. Neither of those would actually place messages into the spam folder most of the time. At best iOS spam blocker would put SPAM in promotions and it would still miss some spam. After using this for about two months with the paid pro pack smart filter, it’s catching absolutely all spam and putting it into the spam folder where I never even have to see a count bubble.

App Worked Great Until 26.1
Well, it looks like 26.1 finally killed Junkman. My filtering is missing and all of my spam messages are now littered throughout my regular conversations. Also, my Messaging app is now showing one unread message even though I have zero unread messages. Bummer! Worked great even on iOS 26, not sure what happened with this morning’s update.
Political texts
By making your own rules all political texts that come in your messaging app have about 32 different variations on the last line of their text and that makes it very easy (like "stop to end") to make rules to eliminate all of them! How long that I spent a couple years constantly trying to get rid of about 100 text a day! Destroying my normal life just because I donated!

Une appli bien utile
L’appli fonctionne super bien, le filtrage également, on apprécie les dossiers dédiés dans Messages. Mais attention, Junkman filtre parfois des sms légitimes comme ceux de Free par exemple, pas tous mais certains. Par contre, niveau prix c’est une claque. Je l’utilise depuis sa sortie, au début c’était gratuit, puis il a instauré un abonnement mensuel à seulement 0,99€/mois et les autres forfaits étaient bien moins cher. Aujourd’hui, l’abonnement mensuel coûte 3x plus cher carrément. J’ai toujours l’abonnement à 0,99€/mois tant que je ne résilie pas, mais j’aurais du prendre le forfait a vie à sortie qui était autour de 40 ou 50€. La politique tarifaire est franchement mauvaise, quand on sait que d’autres apps de filtrage fonctionne aussi et sont largement moins chères voire gratuite. Je comprends qu’il faut couvrir les coûts d’hébergement, maintenance, etc, mais quand même!!!

Update: Five stars. Reported a minor bug; it was fixed within a couple of hours via an app update. Excellent customer support. Highly recommend this app! I also recommend their Begone Spam Call filter. Happy to be a paying customer for both apps. Junkman is awesome. One political donation and I was hit with 25–30 spam texts a day. Unsubscribing did nothing. This app shut down the political and home‑buying spam instantly. Excellent junk blocker.
Doesn’t Actually Block Anything
If it doesn’t actually block spam messages, what good is it? If the sender doesn’t know they’re being "blocked", aka filtered, why would they even stop messaging? If Apple doesn’t let these apps actually block messages, what good are they? If spam is just moved to another location on my iPad by keyword and the sender doesn’t know it, what stops the sender from spamming me again and again? Makes Apple complicit in this message blocker app scam. I canceled my subscription immediately. The built-in "Delete message and report junk" already does that for free. At least on my phone, the Number Shield app "answers" these calls by posting "stopped by Number Shield". All I have to do is access the missed calls screen and select BLOCK CALLER. I never get another call from that phone number. Does the sender know they’re being blocked? No idea. But I never get another call from that number ever again. I never set up voice mail on my phone so spammers don’t get to leave me a voice message. That’s good enough for me.
Great app overall but can’t move wrongly classified messages out of junk
Overall works great but I get messages from online bookings, events, etc. that get wrongly classified to junk and there is no way to move them out of the folder. Even when I add the number to allowed, the message remains in junk.
Doesn’t work
I tried this with the Pro plan to filter out political spam texts. I was disappointed. - It only works on the phone, but I have iMessage synced to my Mac, and still got all the messages there. - The “report spam” integration mostly did not work, with the name and number fields being blank.
Rewriting review- 1 star to 3
The lifetime pricing is 80, pretty steep. Personally the pricing is completely off for a sms spam prevention app. Please adjust as competitors have superior pricing. Since launching you have double prices for the app when they were high to begin with. Signature hound has become more competitive in this regard after settings rules.
Junkman Works Extremely Well
I used Junkman when I was still was on iOS 18.7 and was very effective at blocking unwanted text messages (mostly political stuff). The question now is whether the Junkman app is competitive with the iOS 26 text screening feature that is built into the operating system.

Not so great anymore
I use to love this app and tell everyone to use it, now it’s not so great….actually it kinda sucks. Daily spam coming it and lots of it. All the settings are as instructed(and having to check daily, well I should t have to keep checking over and over to see if my Junkman setting are set correctly, and yes I have rebooted a million times. Time to find something else.
Stops working too much
I have to stop using this. I’ve just hit too many times that I find out nothing is getting filtered anymore. This time it turns out the last date that filters were working was 2/27 and it’s now 4/13. I have a month and a half of transactions that can never be categorized now. A spotty archive is worse than useless. What really irritates me is that the dev has a note on this listing and an alert in-app that it may stop filtering after an update, and if so restart the device. Here are the problems with that: A) I don’t know when the app updates. It’s a silent and automatic background update because that’s how iOS works. B) My device is rarely restarted, just recharged, so that’s not going to just happen unless I know there was an update. But in this case my device *had* been restarted several times since 2/27 after running out of power. I suspect what’s happened is you have to first explicitly start the Junkman app post-update, then reboot. Well, I don’t have a reason to start the app very often either because my filters are simple and have stayed unchanged for months or years. This makes it especially grating to get the app-start popup that it may have stopped working due to an update, btw, because no kidding Sherlock—the only reason I’m launching Junkman is because it stopped working! Alternately maybe turning off due to 0% battery is a hibernate, not a system restart, though it shows the Apple logo like a fresh boot and I thought I’d also rebooted it explicitly at least once. But point is, the problem is not just silently fixing itself and even if it did there’d still be data loss between app update and the next incidental restart. And that brings me to C: C) Even though the dev knows this problem exists he won’t stop updating his darned app over and over!!! It’s had something like six or eight updates in the last month and a half. What am I supposed to do, restart every time a new one lands just in case that’s the one that breaks filtering? Even if it’s an iOS issue, it’s a gross error in judgment to update so frequently if he knows updating can stop background filtering from working. But I do some of why he’s doing this: the smart filter is hardcoded so he’s updating for filter changes. Well, maybe it shouldn’t be hardcoded! Other filter apps download rules as a data file independently for a reason. Maybe dude needs to bite the bullet, spring for hosting, and just do that even if it means charging a buck every few months or something. And if it’s not that, and he needs seven point versions in a month and a half to bug-fix per the changelog, maybe just maybe he should be using beta testers to minimize in-field updates? But if the dev insists on this update schedule and can’t solve the “quits working” problem then my recommendation is that he a) adds an option to local-notify the user after an update (assuming the update doesn’t also break his ability to do that) rather than popping up an insult-to-injury alert in the app itself and b) that he adds a local notification option that triggers if no message is seen for some configurable amount of time to alert the user the app may be broken now. But either way I’m moving on. I just can’t deal with the sometimes works/sometimes doesn’t, and having meaningless transaction archives with long periods of lost data. I hate to trash the app because I can see the dev operates in good faith and works hard, but the unreliability of whether it’s still filtering is a deal breaking issue. Even if he added those notifications, having to defensively reboot every time the smart filter gets a tweak or he ships a fix for yet another found in field bug is just too much micromanagement for something that’s supposed to be automatic. Maybe I’ll try it again next election season when the candidate spam ramps back up. Hopefully the dev has figured out the stops-working problem by then, or at least rethinks his approach given the realities of the system and goes back to a significantly more cautious update schedule.

Tried the trial version with internet on punching. Deleted it instead. It let 8 scam texts through in the first day. I typed in a word to block but it blocked nothing. This app doesn’t work at all.

Ca fonctionne pas mal mais le gros problème c’est que des sms légitimes sont aussi considérés comme indésirables. Il faut donc aller dans la section dédiée pour les y trouver. Par contre aucune possibilité pou les déclarer comme légitimes. On est obligés de vérifier régulièrement dans cette section pour éviter de passer à côté de nos messages. Dommage. Je désinstalle.

À quand une traduction française, comme Begone qui est très bien traduit ? Je remonterai ma note sans hésiter lorsque cette application sera disponible en français. Les produits de cet éditeur ont l’air très bien et très fonctionnels. Je ne peux que les recommander. J’attends avec impatience la traduction de celle-ci. Si le développeur pouvait répondre à cet avis afin de savoir si la traduction française est bientôt prévue, ce serait très sympathique de sa part et démontrerait sa réactivité près des utilisateurs. Wow! This thing does a good job.
Being a software developer for over three decades I wasn’t sure if I was gonna try to build something like this or wait until it came out. Well it finally came out. It’s an AI application that’s running strictly in your phone and just moves junk text messages to a junk folder so that you’ll only see the ones that aren’t junk. Now that I’ve ran it for three weeks, I went ahead and paid for the whole year. I am very happy.

Way too many clicks
In order to classify a spam text as a junk, you are forced to fill out a multi-click report, which is time-consuming and irritating. The reason I want to rid my phone of the multiple spam texts per day that I receive, is that I want to save time and reduce irritation, which Junkman does not do.

I lose about two man-hours a day, to weeding out SMS spam. That’s about $146K of my time. 730 hours of my life, every year. So, for a $76 lifetime subscription, I got the greatest gift that anyone could give me: Peace, and productivity. I have worked in computers since the 1970s. I have seen a ton of great programs (apps) come and go. Some have tricky installations. Some have great bits, but huge flaws, too. Junkman is not only a breeze to install. Kerem Erkan has thought through, from the perspective of a user, not software engineer, how to solve a pernicious problem with the latest technology, make it elegant, easy, and, most importantly, ADAPTIVE and EVOLVING, to cover future threats. Erkan is the 21st C. Peter Norton. This is an app that EVERYONE should have.
