What people like
- Explains context, not just translations
- No annoying ads interrupting learning
- Clear grammar explanations are superb
- Easy to use interface layout
What they complain about
- App crashes and won't open
- Exercises feel too easy and boring
- Repeats words you already know
Flaky code fixed; good app
Crashed until an update which took several days. But a much better app than what Duolingo has become - no clutter, junk, etc. Focused efficient learning
One of the best
I’m very happy to see that Wlingua is back and running after about a week of outage. Over the last 10 years I have used numerous apps for improving my German and I can confidently say that Wlingua is among the top three. The content is of super high quality and the teaching method is superb. I only wish that I had found it earlier and did not waste my time on so many other useless apps. I plan to finish all lessons by the end of the summer and hope to see more content added at some point. Thank you for a great app that is not just a mindless game, but a meaningful tool for improving my German language skills!
Not working
It doesn’t work. It loads but then the app stop working.
Great App!
This is a very intuitive, easy to use app that makes learning very accessible! It is miles above the more popular language learning app in terms of lessons and customization options.
Перестало работать
Приложение прекрасно работало 3 недели, второй день вылетает и не открывается. Проблема именно в приложении, потому что пробовал устанавливать на другие телефоны под другими учетками - история такая же. Исправьте это!!!
Switch to this now
This is so much better than Duolingo, you aren’t pelted with ads every 2 seconds, and so far the free plan has been more than enough- will buy later

AMAZING APP!!
I used the Russian version for a while a little bit ago and decided to come back to learn German because it was so good! Unlike Duolingo, there’s nothing you have to pay for (As I’ve seen so far) and you can unlock different features by progressing at your own pace without having to worry about how much and how efficiently you learn. Gendered words are colored and there is even a dialogue mode you can unlock once you complete at least 10 lessons. If you don’t know a specific alphabet, you can learn that too! 10/10, 5 stars, would definitely recommend!
Manque langues
Application en anglais ou espagnol seulement, et non dans plusieurs langues comme indiqué dans les infos de l’app store
Es algo fácil para aprender alemán
Me gusta la aplicación
Excellent App for Learning German!
“I’ve been using Wlingua to learn German, and it’s been an amazing experience! The structured lessons, clear explanations, and interactive exercises make it easy to follow and stay motivated. The app covers grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation effectively, making it a great tool for beginners and advanced learners alike. I also love the audio features, which help improve listening skills. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comprehensive and user-friendly way to learn German!”
Helpful Format
After using many different apps, I really like the layout of the lessons. Very straightforward!
Duolingo on steroids!
Provides a greater understanding of terms and words rather than just giving a lukewarm translation. This is excellent for new learners, and gives full context for words in the German language. Amazing!
Great App. Great way of teaching.
Been using for 5 months now and I’m hooked! I love the way it teaches you to learn. I’m currently learning German, and it has a free version but I pay the $12 a month and get so much more. I’m learning with three of my friends and only a couple weeks in we started to have short conversations in German. Now, we are speaking pretty much anything we want to say to each other in German. We try to stick to 2 lessons a day and 3 reviews. I recommend.
