Update
Unreliable
If you’re using a GLP-1, you must re-enter your information multiple times per day. Not worth using with a GLP-1. I have the paid version. No help from the company.
Almost perfect, good value premium services
This app works very well for me, I am using it for macros tracking on keto. You can adjust the allowances to be keto or low carb; it would be even better if users could define their own macro targets but they are set to 20g carbs for keto and 100g for low carb. It has a plate scan feature, barcode reading and a good database for looking up values which is all very handy. It also gives the option to add half of calories burned in exercise to allowances. However, this is supposed to be a keto diet app yet it still seems to go on standard diet advice, recommending lean meat, nagging about eating ‘too much’ saturated fat and the recipes are also according to this standard. I assume it’s AI and just shoves standard advice in there but it is a real shame as this app would be tremendous if all the features supported a low carb lifestyle… Another odd thing is that the analysis is a bit off, it randomly says there are trans fats in unprocessed foods such as cream and lamb, very strange. So… I just ignore the analysis feature as it’s pretty useless, as are the recipes. The tracking in the app is great and really helps me stay on track.
BEWARE MIS-SELLING!
Needlessly complicated. No simple way to have only required data without ‘extra’. Crashes frequently. Be VERY careful, this app is NOT “Carb Genius”, it is my net diary. It goes by a few different names and each have different icons but they are all the same app. For example, It charges £7.99 for carb genius and £3.99 for another but you get EXACTLY the same app - all called my net diary irrelevant of which you download. Be careful not to get caught out. Despite the obvious scam and other issues it is the only app around that allows macros to be customised without the forced 1200 calories which can mess up everything.
Nice but…
Easy to use, logical and easily mastered. However, though I linked it to Apple Health measurements do not migrate into the app such as blood glucose and weight for example.
Great!!
I found this app several years ago. It’s a great and accurate app
Preview Please
I would like to preview how this works before having to pay for it. I think it processed a payment, but I am it really sure!
Creating recipes
Everything about this is great! Very easy to use and easy to navigate. It’s also very accurate. However, I don’t understand why you can’t create recipes. That should be standard feature. Especially since the main app mynetdiary allows it.
Confessed Carboholic
This app gave me the tools to change my approach to health from counting calories to counting protein. A simple change without the Keto budget!
Don’t download
I just spent an hour entering all of my food data for the day. And when I clicked on a recipe in the app, all my data disappeared. It isn’t worth my time or energy.
Yes!
Can make sure I’m eating well on GLP-1
Helpful but needs help
This app has been really helpful in starting my Keto diet, but there is one thing that would be really useful. Can you fix it so that when creating a recipe, you can add the same ingredient more than once? For instance when making a cake and frosting, salt might be in both the cake and the frosting but it won’t add it the 2nd time. It makes your nutrients off and makes it hard to follow.
Stay Away
Worst application in Apple Store. Bugs makes app useless and customer support boils down to “reinstall “ to every inquiry.
It’s nice!
I love this app, you could search stuff up and most of the time it’ll pop up exactly what you’re looking for, but if it doesn’t pop up..good luck.
Great app
Easy to use, great way to stay focused and track progress.
Cant be cancelled in your phone subscriptions
This is one of those apps which once youve signed up will literally take a lot of money out monthly. Be warned. Its extremely expensive. In my opinion ludicrously expensive and not easy to cancel within their app. Despite what they say the subscription cannot be cancelled on your phone with other apple subscriptions. ONLY on their website.
Made the difference
This app Keeps track of everything for you, tried dieting for many years and failed. I highly recommend this app. Lost 210 pounds and still going.
Logging-v-Not logging
I ♥️MyNetDiary Genius. I enjoy being able to go back and see my results. I also enjoy logging my thoughts. I recommend MyCarbGenius or some type of app that works for you. Logging is better.
Money grab! High pressure selling!
Keeps wanting you to pay more and more $ just to get to a functional platform. Signed up for 40 minutes and asked to refund— they said NO!! Don’t trust this app!!!
Really good free version
Being new to Keto this app has really helped me track my food and get to grips with macros. I’ve found the free version really helpful.
Real weight loss!
I have done WW for years but my weight loss had stalled. I decided to try this app and go in different direction. This app is not only BETTER than my WW app (and diet); it’s also so much less expensive. (Compare $25/mo to $8/mo.) I’ve used it for almost a year now and can honestly say my weight loss is no longer stalled! I’ll be with Carb Genius on into maintenance!
Not showing calories
The app tracks carbs. But the dashboard requires clicking into a specific menu for calories. I guess if you don’t want to track calories that’s fine, but calorie should be part of dieting app. Either that’s how it’s designed or it’s super glitchy. Either way. I’m left feeling like I deserve a refund.
Very Helpful.
Great
Fantastic features
this app is being updated regularly. The programmers are actively involved. Their database of foods has too many entries that are empty of key nutritional info (seems like they were made by users), but overall its database is great. I like that i can track not just my macros, and protein but also my sugar based on types, the vitamins and minerals, and even other things like amino acids types.
Disappointed
Paying for premium gives you access to meal plans for the specific diet you’re on, ie Keto, low calorie etc. However, when looking at the menus the carbohydrate intake for the keto version has single servings of single meals upwards of 30 carbs. This is in no way shape or form keto. Very disappointed in the lack of oversight by whomever is responsible for these so called expert reviewed created meals.
Great app for net carbs and the rest
Very useful and easy to use. The only (slightly) weak pint is the number of bar codes not found. But easy enough when entering the nme of the product. Doesn’t put me off using it.
My go to
Allows me to learn carb contents of the foods I eat and is integral in my health planning and maintenance
Changes to this app
This WAS a great app. Then they “upgraded” it. So now this Carb Genius moved the carbs over on the list to show lots of other measurements first. Of course you can adjust this if you pay $9 a month…..it worked fine as it was. Greed ruined a good program.
perfect app
love this app - it's everything i want & nothing i don't !
No recipe option for free version
I’ve been using this app and I love it but went to create a recipe today and it can’t be done in the free version. This is a big thumbs down from me as most other free apps have that feature…deleting now
