What people like
- Keeps you focused on tasks
- Visual timer helps kids understand time
- Timer floats on top of other windows
What they complain about
- Only five free uses before payment
- App crashes frequently and randomly
- Uses too much computer battery power
I work in ABA
I’ve used this timer for the past 3 years and it’s been one of the easiest most useful visual timers for my kids. Brilliant and effective design and idea! Genuinely would highly recommend—I encourage all of my coworkers to get this app for their students/clients
Not free
Disappointed that it now cannot be used for free anymore - forced to pay or delete after only 5 uses
As described
You set the timer and it gives you a visual of the timer counting down. There are a few fun looks. I use the blue stopwatch looking one with the last five minutes in red. You can't set the timer for a specifc time but you can set it for 120 s, 20 min, 60 min, 120 min, or 12 hrs. The 60 min works for me and I repeat it as necessary. My only complaint is that the title and app icon feel kiddy to me but thats on me. The developer also charges $6.99 after a set amount of uses. For a tool that helps me so much, I'm fine with that - I didn't want to keep trying "free" visual timers with adds or that will charge as well.
Pay to Play - only five free runs
It's a cool gizmo, I like the analogue style. Only five "free" runs before you are forced to purchase "upgrade". Also, there doesn't seem to be a transparency slider and it's a bit of a resource hog or would rate 4 stars.
Parenting must have!!
This app is a game changer for parents. We love using a timer to help transition from one thing to another when needed. My daughter does not understand numbers yet so the visual of the timer getting smaller and smaller helps her understand how much time she has left. She loves adding her own pictures too. Get this app for your kiddos! You won’t regret it!
Only fives uses before need to buy
Not free - only fives uses before you have to pay for premium. Couldn’t find a setting to prevent kids from speeding up the timer. Other timer apps allow you to disable the buttons while the timer is running. Maybe it exists in the premium app.
Pretty good
Pretty good! Can you add these features? - Delete timers - Name timers - Have mutliple timers going at the same time
Cute but hate the alarm sound
It’s a cute and practical app however the alarm sound is horrible and jarring - please give us more options - it’s the one thing that keeps me from recommending to others
Decent
This is a great little app and its cute. A miss for me is that your cant do 30 second intervals, beyond the setting of 30 seconds only. I dont understand why. Why create a timer where you can only do 1 mintue intervals. Please update this and i will update my rating.
Fun app
We use this thing nightly to keep our daughter on track with her brushing and nighttime routines
Upgrade for 6 euros for a clock with a few photos?!
I found it absolutely crazy that the developers put a limit on the number of free timers you can use, as the app is nothing more than two clocks with some customisation options. Like at that point it would make more sense for them to run ads between the timers compared requiring you to pay a higher price than for the cheapest Netflix subscription. Honestly absurd…
Really enjoying the app
The app does crashes more often than I wish for. But it has all the features I enjoy and the pop out timer is brillant!
Was great before it said I had to pay to use it
No
Great app, but...
Great app, I like the design, the pop out feature is great, exactly what I was looking for, however it crashes soooo much, at least 3 times when first opening, and sometimes crashes randomly and it takes me out of being focused on my work to restart the app again (multiple times), pleeease fix the crashing problem
Good for free
Use infrequently but when I do it’s very helpful.
No Sound
No Sound at the end
Great for classrooms
This timer is great in a classroom setting. The pop out and keep on top features mean you keep your slideshow information up with out having to build in timers. This keeps timers flexible to adjust for student learning. There are a variety of great visual cues available to give a better idea of time remaining. The only feature I wish was available is to select a background image randomly from a list.
Limited
Can't change designs (which are super limited), colours or to numbers or otherwise. Not really an easy or straightforward interface. Can't do a stop watch (count up rather than down). Purchasing it really doesn't improve anything.
Needs flexible times, alerts at specific times, and alerts at more intervals
I was looking for an app of this type. It has many features, but didn't do what I needed it to do: - Currently, the total countdown runtimes are limited to 4. Users should be able to set it to anything. - Allow changing the color of the background timing off, with individual colors for custom intervals. - There is an option to send audible notifications at certain times, e.g. every minute, every second before the timer ends. This needs more flexibility again, e.g. notify every 15 minutes on a 60 minutes times. Also I would need to be able to set different alarm sounds at different times, e.g. alert a at 15 minutes to end, alert b at 5 minutes to end, alert c at the end. - This needs to be available as a sidebar widget, too, not just permanent float on desktop. On small screens this will block the interface of other apps. - Ideally, release the same as an app for iphone, ipad, too, with a one-time purchase and family sharing for all platforms.
Love this App
Can customize the picture and sound to match the activity that you are timing.
Times up is a scam! BEWARE
It said I would be charged a one time fee of $4.99 then charged my bank account $47. Super lame!
Great visuals, but too resource intensive
It uses way too much CPU when it's running — starts at 25% or so, and sometimes grows to 50% or 60% (Apple M1). Using App Tamer forces it to stay around 2-3%, but at the cost of it becoming visually laggy and slow to respond. It shouldn't take 30%-60% CPU to update a timer. Even though there's the blur in the overlay, turning it off to use the opaque window doesn't change the CPU. GPU is not being utilized at all. Despite that, it's still worth it and useful if you use App Tamer. And, it looks sleek, minimalistic, and just perfect.
App cost money
The app only lets you use 5 timers and then you have to pay. Wasted my time downloading this. App should find other ways to generate income, the value is too low to pay for and there are too many competitors which are actually free. The app has some features with visual timers, but i cant think of a use case where that would be a added value. A simple timer is what users are looking for! usefull cool aspect: the icon in the search bar displays time left.
It's a good, aesthetically pleasing basic timer.
I like the fact that it can float on top of my windows as a round widget (as opposed to a rectangular window), be resized. I would like the ability to set a countdown to a specific time, or set an interval longer than 1hr, but I understand that would dilute the quality and be outside the scope and purpose of what this thing is designed for.
Helps With My Time Blindess
I think these visual “time timer” systems are usually marketed towards children, but as an adult, I find that time blindness can get the better of me pretty often, and this simple visual tool is a great way for me to keep track of time throughout my day. It was definitely worth the one-time purchase. I like how the visual clock stays on my screen even when I navigate to another window, so I can always quickly glance at it. I like that I can change the timer’s alarm sound to ring only once so it’s not super annoying. I like that I can customize the look and size of the clock face. All around, I can tell that the developer really took serious consideration into the UX of this tool and kept it simple and functional. I love this thing; big thank you to the developer 🙏🏽.
it doesn't work
it doesn't work I can't start this app update plz
Simple design and works because of it
I use as a visual timer for how long a call/meeting has left, and it works great for that. Please change the icon though :-)
60 minute max?
Why can’t I set a timer longer than this?
Useful, motivating, and pretty
Does exactly what you need it to do. I like that it’s color customizable and you can have multiple saved timers for different types of tasks or moods. Can also change the end sound. This works for encouraging my productivity without allowing myself to ignore it.
Great timer
I would give it 5 stars if I could manually choose the duration of time.. instead of just 60' or 120"
ADHD Motivation Hack
I been using this app for a few weeks while at work and it's SO HELPFUL. The nature of my job is usually "deadline-less" so I have no external forces to push me - which means I can get stuck in detail work and slow down. This visual timer though is AWESOME. I give myself short "sprints" and say "I'll get this done before the timer goes off" and BOOM. External force applied = faster work. My coworkers and boss appreciate my quicker output and I'm feeling way more productive! BIG THANKS TO THE DEVS WHO MADE THIS! YALL ARE AWESOME. Also - I gave my timer a mustache. He is a distinguished timer now. Hehehe.
The timer looks great, but it needs more options
I would like to customize the timer further. I don't want to wait until the last 5 seconds to hear a chime. I also don't want annoying repetitve announcements for a full minute. I'd like to be able to choose how many bells I hear, at the increments that I want... (ie one bell every 10 mins, if I set an hour timer). Or I'd like an auto repeat option that I don' thave to manually reset (repeating the timer cycle every hour by itself). Great timer but would appreciate some updated options. Thansk a bunch
The best
Great for keeping toddlers on time!
Worth It!
I rarely buy apps. This one was absolutely worth it. The degree of customization it allows is incredible. I have multiple, color coded timers set. A multitasker, it keeps me on track and reminds me when to perform certain tasks. This is extremely well thought out and has functioned flawlessly. I also have the Time Zone app, which is equally excellent! I’ve never posted a review, so this is saying something! : )
