No bot protection
I want to like Hobbiesville. They are a Canadian TCG store with a strong reputation, and having a dedicated app should make product drops easier and more accessible for real customers. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. The biggest issue is that Hobbiesville does not appear to have meaningful protection against bots, monitors, or scraper-driven buying behaviour. Product SKUs and URLs are routinely surfaced through Discord monitor servers before regular customers can reasonably find them through the app or website. Those links often appear to let people jump directly to products or carts faster than normal users ever could. What makes this especially frustrating is that some products seem to be accessible through these direct links before they are properly available in the app or searchable on the site. I have had multiple experiences where a Discord link opens to a 404 page on mobile or in the app, while the same link on desktop leads to a live product page. From a customer perspective, that makes it feel like regular app users are at a disadvantage compared with people relying on automated monitors and backend/frontend URL tracking. I have raised this issue with Hobbiesville multiple times. To their credit, they have acknowledged the problem, but the actual customer experience has not improved. The app still feels unreliable during high-demand drops, and it does not feel like real consumers are being adequately protected. This is not about being upset that popular TCG products sell out quickly. That happens everywhere. The issue is fairness. If Hobbiesville wants to position itself as “Canada’s premier hobby shop,” then the app needs stronger drop protection, better product visibility, and a more level playing field for normal customers. Until that changes, I cannot recommend the app.
Terrible App
Good luck getting back to where you were in your shopping if you add something to your wish list. Their filtering options are pretty much useless as well.
Shipping is slow
Shipping seem to be difficult on their side but otherwise they have great deals on certain thing and are nice
Great products, great support
Can’t thank them enough for their work and the products they supply
Horrible customer service
I had a very frustrating experience with Hobbiesville’s final sale policy. I accidentally placed an order and tried to cancel it immediately, but there are no options to cancel an order, even right after it’s submitted. I contacted customer service right away hoping they could help reverse the mistake, but they told me there were no options available for cancellation or refund due to their final sale policy. Unfortunately, customer service was not helpful in offering any alternatives or solutions. I understand that stores have policies, but a complete lack of flexibility for instant mistakes and no self-service cancellation option makes for a poor customer experience. I would strongly recommend double- and triple-checking your order before submitting, as there is no recourse if something goes wrong.
Slow Scrolling
Ever since the update, scrolling on the app hasn’t felt smooth, it completely make me go off the app. Please fix this.
Amazing Local Hobby Shop
I would recommend working on setting up an *in stock* filter to help navigate products easier similar to the website! As well theres no way to delete items in your cart if they go out of stock… Which is kinda annoying. You have to delete the app and redownload, if i need to clear the out of stock item from my cart. Other than that this shop is always reliable and affordable with a great variety of collectors products! Very happy with all the app exclusive prices and points system ! I will be a regular client for a long time 😁
Smooth and Intuitive App
App is just as good as the website. Very responsive and easy to browse and make purchases.
Customer service was rude and insisted on charging me for redelivery despite courier's fault.
I placed three different orders for the Mega Evolution Booster Bundle. Unfortunately, I only received one order, while the other two were returned to the sender due to courier issues. I reached out to Hobbyville about the problem and requested them to redeliver my two orders. However, they informed me that they would charge me a redelivery fee for each order. I provided them with a screenshot showing that it was a courier issue, but they insisted that it was an invalid address. I explained that if the address was invalid, then why was my first order delivered successfully, and the delivery address was Scotia Bank in Timmins. It was impossible for it to be an invalid address. Despite the long wait for the pre-order and over a month for the delivery, They insisted that I pay another redelivery fee, so I ended up requesting a refund minus the delivery. To save time avoid dealing with this store, there are better options available out there.
Shipping is sooooo long
Here’s my problem with this company, they have great deal, nice app, but you pay 11$ for shipping (under 175$) and it says 2-3 business days before process. It’s been 8 business days, still no tracking number, no update apart from the payment confirmation. Tried to contact them by email, but they say it takes 2 business days to get an answer, and it’s been 4 business days since. You can’t charge 11$ for express shipping and then not deliver remotely on time. Disapointed and looking somewhere else for cards.
Amazing
Great prices, great selection, easier to pickup in store as well!
Useless app
Rubbish app never send restock notification but keep sending random spam.
App is just as bad as website
The app is slow to load, filters do not do both an in-stock and sort function simultaneously and I have to sort through a billion Pokémon entries to find board games. The customer service from this store has been spotty too. Their pre-order policy seems to have serious issues.
Always Proper
These folks haven’t missed a beat. Every time I’ve ordered a product, it has arrived in perfect condition and packaged well. I would highly recommend ordering from Hobbiesville for anything you need in the TCG realm.
App
The app doesn’t have the same items on the actual web site.. you look for Pokemon Prismatic on the app it has disappeared completely but if you look on their website it shows all the prismatic lineup..
Bad shipping
Ordered a booster box and it came with no bubble wrap at all, just the booster box loose in a bigger box. This resulted in some damaging of the booster box.
Hobbiesville Rocks
Any cards I have for sale I go first to Hobbiesville they give me a fair offer or store credit. I take the Credit because another cool thing is there always updating there inventory so litterly every refresh there is new cards. About to send my Lorcana Cards Off to you this will be the 2nd time in 7 days I have sent and they process it fast. AWESOME A+
Horrible
The app glitched and placed the order twice. Customer support waited a week before responding and after the orders shipped to tell me it’s too late to do anything. Good luck every getting through on the phone, email responses take at least four days.
Great deals :D
Love shopping here and supporting this store since my LGS went out of business this is my go to for products always fast shipping and have great communication with the staff on orders 10/10 would recommend
Controlled Packages.
I spent over $1500, not once did I pull anything of value. I think my highest card pulled was 10 bucks. Unbelievable. Something is clearly off.
Love this store
This is such a great place to pick up booster packs, or booster boxes at a great price, and the sales are awesome to
They sure want your money
Weird sales policies with price drops under the same sale banner of “boxing week”. Won’t honour price matches despite not sending product out before price drops. Horrible customer service, insulting to the customer. Definitely a child taking things personally instead of running a business
Fantastic Service!
Lightning fast customer service from this shop. Answered all my questions promptly and courteously and made me confident that I could make a purchase from them. Always a little nerve wracking when buying online for the first time from a place you don’t know. But they were fantastic. Pokémon boxes were pristine, delivered fast and packaged with care. Very professional shop and I will for sure be buying from them again. 5 Stars.
Too many notifications
Holy. This app is so annoying. It notifies you about everything coming out on the app. There needs to be a selection systems to opt out of certain types of notifications. Sending upwards of 5 notifications a day is way too much.
Best place ever
Hobbiesville is the best place to buy pokemon stuff
Website price are cheaper
Strangly… stuff on the website is cheaper. Even “app exclusive” are higher on app than announced on the website… I guess that clients that use the app pay for the app!
