Best app
Top 1 app I’ve been using this since high school and it’s amazing.
It made me use picture
Couldn’t just type the question because came up small at the top so I had to use a picture which didn’t work. terrible don’t recommend it
Crashes too often
I paid for unlimited flash cards and it is worth it. The only thing wrong with this app is that it crashes too often. It gets quite frustrating when I am trying to make flash cards. If it gets fixed then this app is five stars.
Reasonably priced and has potential.
As stated above. There’s currently a bug on macOS where it autofills your suggested next word multiple times, rendering the application pretty much impossible to use.
Good
It works well, I like that is can use and export csv files. Can you please make the question and especially the answer boxex bigger on the Mac version. I always run out of space in the answer. Also when I switch desktop spaces and switch back to the Study Cards desktop space, I have to click a couple times to get the app to take input from the keyboard again.
love this app so far
i love this app so far but i need to be able to be put more folders within courses! i would appreciate this so much
Weird Glitches
When type using the app for some reason it repeats my word twice. If I type in Chinese it repeats whatever I type five times to the point where it takes me twice the amount of time to type what I want because I have to o back and delete it. This happens on my Mac and my iPad. also, i can’t underline, bold or any of the text. Additionally I think this app should have more study features, I’d definitely pay for that but it looks really bland and forced. When going through the study cards, you can click randomise however if you get them wrong, it shows the cards in the same order so it doesn’t really become randomised. FIX YOUR APP
Almost good
• Captures the iOS feel well with intuitive menus • Small single purchase I wish the app wouldn't: • keep crashing occasionally while I'm typing a flashcard • keep kicking me back out to the previous menu every time I edit a Course or Chapter
Very inconvenient crashing
I’m disappointed - the UI of this app and its functions are really quite good. I love how your confidence with a question is assessed so you can see where your strengths and weaknesses are. But I’m going to have to stop using it because my app constantly crashes whilst trying to add new questions, sometimes up to three times before I’ve finished typing out the answer.
Glitch
Has become a pain to use due to a glitch where what i’m writing doubles and I have to delete it
I love this app
I indulged in the paid version as I loved the simplicity of this app. You can really feel the developer cares about its functions shown by how they respond to bugs based on peoples review and feedback. The app has little quirks and you can feel its personality to be honest. Maybe that’s a weird thing to see about a flash card app, but i just really like it. The design has helped me to feel positive about my studying as I really like using it! So thank you :)
Deleted all my cards
So this app was great until it deleted all 777 of my flashcards. Genuinely so annoyed.
Helpful but uhh
As I try to add more I type in the boxes but then it continuously crashes.?.?
Crashes
Super simple flashcard app in very good way, but the crashes makes it unable to create new Flashcards…can you pls fix it now…
It’s good but there are issues
The issues that come cross annoying is that the some of my cards are duplicated from one device to another. During making my study cards, some of my questions and answers would be swapped, even though I know I wrote it in the correct section. Overall, it’s very convenient due to iCloud sync
A great IOS flashcard app, lacks math support.
This app allows you to import and export entire blocks of flashcards with csv or markdown. It can do bullet points, import images and you can sketch with the apple pencil and there even is line and grid options. But I don’t believe as of this review there is support for latex or markdown based mathematical equations. I will use the sketch option for now, but using the iPad and magic keyboard this process is cumbersome. Overall, it seems like a 5 star experience, especially if math support is added via typing.
A great app being destroyed by crashes
I absolutely loved this app, but I’m now going on almost 6 months of non stop crashes when trying to create questions. There are times where the app crashes upwards of 5 times before I’m able to finish creating a single question. I’ve seen other reviews for MONTHS mentioning the same issue, but they’re doing nothing about it.
I recommend it
I've purchased the full version and the app has been useful so far. I would like to see a cross-course and cross-chapter CSV import feature, but that's the only thing missing from my perspective. The app does what it's supposed to do, it looks great, and the support I received from the team has been top notch.
Worked well but now keeps crashing
Used the app for about a year and it worked super well but recently it’s been crashing whenever I try to create new questions. Would definitely go back to using it if the problem gets fixed though
Great to start
Loved this app to begin with, no issues initially. Used to study and found really useful. After about a month or two, I noticed slow transition between study cards. Would take about 15 seconds to catch up. I contacted support to see if this was a developer issue or possible a device problem. Tried on multiple devices and the same issue. If this issue is fixed the app would be 5 stars.
FINALLY FOUND THE PERFECT FLASHCARD APP
I've been looking so long for a flashcard app that offers spaced repition, and also has a UI that is intuative and looks nice. Great app all round but I do have to say that I would like if you could change the size of images in the flashcards, they are a bit small and of to the side.
Constantly crashing - new update
Always worked perfectly for me but after the new update the app constantly crashes it’s completely unusable now
Clean but lacking one thing
It's simple and easy to use, nice that it's on an app. Unlimited costs a single cup of coffee so... only miffed about the fact that you need iCloud. Wished the cards were connected via account instead. Would make life a lot easier.
Don’t do it
I got this app in the beginning of my school year to really lock in and be an academic weapon. I’ve been using it and so far it was great recommend it to my friends after I payed for ts it is now constantly kicking me out as I’m trying to make these questions. And I’m telling you like 3 times within 1 minute it’s pissing me off and stressed me out more for these exams I will be deleting. Get if you want to be a weapon for a month
A students perspective :)
Hi there, Cameron. I really love this app and bought the unlimited version, and I think it's really great and it's really helped me practice biology and memorize my facts. I've definitely seen an increase in my grades and an increase in my efficiency for studying Although it is a great app, I do see some areas of improvement that would make it just amazing so please feel free to consider and hear out my ideas. 1. An option to go back to a previous card!!! If you accidentally skip a card, there is no option to go back. Meaning you have to quit and restart the cards which I think can be built better to help users study way more efficiently. 2. An option to select flashcards, and then create a new deck to move them to. I believe this suggestion is efficient because users don't have to create the new deck before selecting all of the cards and then moving them. Thank you :) and I hope you hear out my concerns.
Solid app, reasonably priced
This app allows me to create flashcards on my laptop and then quiz myself on my phone. I like that it remembers how often I get each question right and allows me to focus on the questions I get wrong more often. I love that I can quickly type the flashcards on my computer, but then they are available to browse on my phone if I am waiting somewhere. Features I would really like to see: - either an option to duplicate a question or (even better) an option to include the same question in different quizzes; - ability to add italics / bold / underline to particular words - at the moment you can only change the font for the entire card. I upgraded to unlimited questions. I am a professional using the app to help me memorise useful knowledge for my job.
1 stars
I like the fact that it’s not a subscription. Although times when i type on my keyboard it does this weird thing where it copies out all my previous sentences into the note again. I’m not sure if this is a shortcut or bug but it’s extremely annoying. I also have recently noticed that this app keeps crashing every time i type and try make a new card. I’ve tried resetting my ipad or refreshing the app and it won’t work. I don’t want to delete the app otherwise i would loose all my data as i don’t have enough iCloud space.
Pretty good!
This app is pretty good! I’d love to be able to create more subcategories and have more options for selecting which questions/subcategories to quiz. At the time of this review (as far as I can tell), the deepest organization available is Course > Chapter > Card. Word-wrapping of course titles would also be handy, since I use a larger text size. Also would be nice to be able to sort cards by dragging them instead of having to use pre-defined rules. Otherwise, looks nice, runs smoothly, has neat quizzing options, and with a current one-time purchase instead of subscription, I’m still using it.
Keeps crashing
Just purchased this app and it keeps crashing every time. I’ve never had problem with this app before now it’s annoying because every time I try to create and write it will keep crashing every
Misleading
Never told me that I had to pay to get more cards so after spending time to make some cards I now have to either pay or restart on a new app. At least it’s not a subscription though.
I'm in Nerd Heaven!
I am simply thrilled by this intuitive and multifaceted app. I paid for it within an hour of starting to use it - and then discovered more and more features afterwards. Such a find. You can downolad it to your Mac laptop as well as your iPhone; it syncs back and forth super fast. The picture option is also brilliant and easy to use, both for adding your own photos and those from Pixabay. Thank you for providing such a worthwhile app for perennial students like me at such a reasonable one-off price.
Great app but now glitches
Loved this app, but now continuously crashes every time I try and type new cards. Also having issue where it keeps copying and pasting what I’ve already written multiple times.
Love the Idea !!
Hi, thanks for creating such a wonderful app. Just a suggestion, as for most of the answers I have reference material as web links so is it possible to click the link on the card and it takes me to the web page (reference link) for further reading? I have tried using markdown but it doesn’t seem to work with the web-links in the cards. Otherwise all good.
Glitchy. Not worth money
The fact that the text repeats itself is so annoying. I know the creators of the app probably dont care, but as a student this is so frustrating and confusing. My cards are unorganized because of it repeating something i just typed. I also paid for more cards, i had no problem doing it but now it just want to delete this app but i spent money on it so i cant
icloud sync
how can i connect my flashcards across my icloud devices? i purchased premium but they are not syncing, how do i solve this?
Pretty good so far!
I've just gotten the paid version today & installed the first day, it runs pretty well! No real reason to knock down the rating so far & hopefully as I continue using the application, it'll stay that way!
Good idea but not a good app
I can see this app as a good idea but when I trued to create cards the app kept crashing which was really frustrating and annoying
study cards review
good for making study cards works well and very affordable, however the aesthetic is very bland and needs to be lighter or have more colour. More adjustable settings would make study cards that much more better.
would work well
text keeps repeating itself when you type a similar word, total waste of time. good concept though
Good but very basic for the price
good but very slow! Photo in the question appeared very small, as well as the text. $5.49 is nothing but I would expect something better than my FREE flashcard app!
Works well.
I am using this app for language learning and thus far it has been very useful and user friendly. I was especially pleased when I realised I could also use this app on my macbook and sync everything via the cloud (on the paid version of the app).
Not worth it
Would be a good app if it would stop crashing each time I type something
Close to good
work on a few bugs: - scrolling - the ability to sort by date (this isnt working) -
Good idea, but really buggy
The concept for this app is really great, and if it worked properly I would like it, but for some reason, the text constantly repeats itself, and I spend more time (that I dont have) fixing my cards than I do writing them. It would take less time to hand write them at this point. Fix the bugs!!
Not for me
As a student I found this app extremely useful for studying for my upcoming maths test so I decided to use again but when I saw that there was a max across all decks I got disappointed. Obviously it is much cheaper than anyone else which is amazing but I’m personally not going to pay 5 dollars for something that is out there for free. If it ever does go free without hesitation will I return.
STUDENT REVIEW!
I am a Year 10 student and honestly, this app is worth the $5.99 you pay for unlimited access! I was looking around for the best flashcard app, because I have to learn a lot of terms for my upcoming exams, and I came accross StudyCards. Now, I'm not one to buy into in-app purchases, but this app...DAMN its good! I can select my colours for my subjects, upload photos and add as many cards as I need, and the best thing is - its a one-time payment plan! Literally the best flashcard app I've tried and it is sooo simple to use! The only thing that could be improved is the syncing to other devices - it does take a while...but HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
Keeps crashing on iPad
I’ve only been using it for 15 minutes on an iPad and it’s crashed a good half a dozen times already. Not really useable.
Perfect working, but only in English
Would be fun if other languages were available such as French or Spanish. Also, an "auto-spelling-check" would be nice.
Simple, Has Potential but Buggy
When reviewing cards, clicking to reveal the answer and flip the card results in a staic card that does not change beneath an animated flipping card that is blank. When exporting cards to markdown, questions and answers are seperated into different sections rather than grouped together. A way to specify the formatting for exporting in markdown would be great. When creating a 'Course' with 'Chapters' (topic/subtopic) it clearly delineates those cards into seperate areas. In the today view all questions are lumped into a single course with no delineation as to which chapter or subtopic they belong to. Not entirely bad, but defeats the purpose of having 'chapters'. If you wish to study a particular chapter you must select the course, then the chapter, then select a card with a question mark icon which brings up a settings menu with a button at the bottom to start the quiz. It feels as though this could be reduced by just including the start the quiz button in the course and chapter views and changing the question mark icon into a simple settings cog if users wish to change anything about the review session. "App Tested on MacOS Ventura"
Can't import md files
I exported the example chapter file, changed it and saved it in markdown format. But I can't imported it back.
