What people like
- Beautiful design that feels like an Apple product.
- One-time payment instead of a monthly subscription.
- Detailed database with accurate color images.
- Great support from the developer.
What they complain about
- Update wiped all your saved data.
- Charges a high fee to add bands.
- Removed the useful Apple Watch companion app.
- Font is too small for some users.
Amazing.
A gorgeous and seriously impressive app. I’ve got a huge collection and I love being able to easily track what band was worn, when. The only downside is how Bandbreite has enabled and encouraged my watch band addiction.
No funciona
Me sale error de sync
Too limited in functionality
The developer reassures reviewers that they only need to pay if they have more than 5 bands. I say why would anyone with fewer bands even bother with this app. I have collected 20 bands over the last 10 years and have some devices that don’t run iOS18 so I guess the app is no longer for me. Improvement suggestions to make a payment more likely: Allow multiple collections so one could separate narrow, wide and ultra bands for different watches. Or alternatively those bands that suit a black watch or a silver one. Also allow users to enter details of third party bands they have purchased from China.
Lacking Persistent Light Mode
Nice app but missing persistent light/dark mode. It only matches system light/dark mode — I’d appreciate persistent light mode since all the images are on white backgrounds. Please add a toggle in the Appearance tab. Also toggles and other UI elements are ridiculously tiny. I’d like to see Liquid Glass incorporated at some point too. Truthfully should use some more stock Apple UI elements because the custom ones miss the mark a bit.
Buena atención
Gracias por la ayuda
Constant sync error
Getting a sync error each time I open the app. Makes the app unusable.
Great! But…
I love this app, but I wish they would bring back the feature where you could log a band right on the Watch.
Used to be 5 stars
Now I am required to pay $7.49 to add any more bands to my collection.. used to be free. Great way to ruin the app guys.
Warum? Absolut Schade. Bitte bringt die Watch App zurück. Dann wieder eine absolute 5/5 App!
Best Band App
I didn’t expect such app, that would help me keep track of my current band collection. Owning too many bands in collection, it will be difficult to memorize all of them. So this app is so handy and useful. Developer, please don’t stop upgrading and updating this app. Thank You
Great app, extensive database
The App is looking and working great. The Database is huge and the Freemium model is more than fair. I hope the Barcodescanner one day stops crashing the app, (app has not requested camera permission and doesn't have it) this would help with hard to differentiate black bands (instagram please check your message request)
Great while it lasted.
I have used this app for the past year and enjoyed it from the very first moment I discovered it. However, everything must come to an end I suppose. I use an iPad Air 2 for the app and when the update dropped (the one that introduced payments for certain normal behaviours) it became incompatible with my little iPad friend. So, I will still use it to catalogue my Apple Watch straps but only the ones released prior to Sept 2025 as no ‘strap catalogue’ update seems forthcoming for older versions. Still, it was a great app while it lasted. PS: there is another review that is listed here and it wasn’t written by me and was immediately deleted when it was discovered by me. But, as the app author has replied to it it still appears if looked for. Please bear in mind my actual full opinion that I would share publicly with others is the review written above. Not that first one that was replied to and is now unresolvable.
Verschlimmbessert
Great App
Great support and awesome app, can’t believe I’m at 93 bands! 😆
Another one gone
Didn’t use this app for too long. I only wanted to keep record of the bands I had. The only feature I cared for was to keep track of the bands I own. I don’t care what community ratings or desires are on specific band. Or being able to see all the bands out there, I just wanted to keep a list of what I have. I can do that on the notes app, or even develop my own app. So enjoy trying to get some money as the app slowly descends into oblivion. I get it, developers need to get paid, but I am not paying for something that doesn’t solve any issues.
Vote How? 🤔
Inside the app I see a prompt inviting me to vote for the band of the year, however I see nothing at all indicating where or how one does this. So would you please provide some guidance on this?
Good App But exploits the biggest App Store flaw
For those who have been using what is essentially a glorified checklist of Apple Watch bands suddenly wake up to find an auto update has installed. Now the app cannot be used the app as a checklist, if you have more than 5 bands, unless they pay the troll. It’s even worse if you have not used the app in some time and missed the warning period. Of course this is a flaw that Apple that should be fixed. This developer isn’t the first to exploit their users in this manner and likely not the last either.
Love the app
The log book shows March 9 is missing, which is throwing off the layout in the log book
Great app, worth paying for
I love this app and gladly paid for pro. However the removal of app icons is disappointing and I hope they add them back
Was free
Should never have started charging. Not worth it.
Useful but lacking comparison feature
I’ve been filling out my watch collection by buying older, discontinued styles online, and this app is great for tracking what I own and seeing what colors I missed but might want to pick up. The images I can verify with my own watch bands are about as true to color as I’d hope for in a digital tool. However, there are a lot of colors that are similar, and there is no way to compare two or three bands simultaneously (e.g., wisteria and lilac, the many blues, the same color across different styles, etc.). That seems like a notable omission that I imagine would be very useful to anyone trying to match a particular color, decide which style to get for a given color, or decide if one band is different enough merit hunting it down. Thanks!
Used to be so great…
This app used to be so great. So nice to track your collection and easily see what bands you still need/want. But with the 2.0 update, essential functions are now pay-to-play. And it’s not cheap… I’ve got no problem with making a buck, but the pro fee is about 3x as high as it should be.
Good but can be improved
Should include other main brands like Nomad, Eternel, UAG or Nuuk
Fun to use! (V2.0: can’t log for older dates)
Update: the v2.0 feature does not allow me to log bands for the dates older than 2 years ago. Please add this feature back. The logbook browsing issue I had in v1.x seems fixed. I appreciate that! (Below are comment for v1.x, partially outdated) — I enjoying finding the Apple Watch bands I own, plus learning about other bands. And the app UI is wonderful, which feels like a native iOS/iPadOS app. It would be perfect if the logbook performance and stability can be improved. I have logged records from April 2015 and I like revisiting my past watch band wearing history. However, on my iPad, when I’m scrolling the calendar (more than 2 months), some months are temporarily invisible and will then show up after scrolling a bit more. On the Mac version, some months not even show up at all. Same issue applies to the list view. Also, scrolling the calendar (more than 2 months) is a bit laggy on my iPad. I hope this issue can be fixed! Finally, about the process of logging my bands usage: I would recommend adding an option to type dates in numbers directly (as an alternative of choosing date from the date selector) when logging watch bands, which will make things faster! And sometimes, I accidentally click on “add to today” instead of “add to date,” so maybe a confirmation window after that would be great. Thanks for making this awesome app!
£7?!
I'm all for supporting developers but this is crazy just to maintain my collection of bands. The app redesign also doesn't feel as intuitive anymore. What a shame and I already tipped previously too which is seemingly worthless to them?
I really need this software to support Chinese.
Bad update
I don’t mind an app becoming paid to cover the costs, I understand. But I don’t really see any major new features. And in my opinion the design and UI had become worse
Useful with a nice aesthetic but prone to glitches and could be so much more
I really like the app and thank you to the dev for fulfilling such a niche - I would definitely recommend it to people with more than one official Apple Watch band! However, there are some issues: most of the time when I select a band for more info on it (e.g. from the 'Collection' tab), there is no back button in sight; meaning I have to restart the app nearly every time I use it. This somewhat defeats the ease-of-use the app is going for. I hope this can be fixed. Also, I know that 'Apple Watch Studio' is a thing and you don't want to infringe on it, but you could do it so much better than them, as Apple only include the latest bands which as you know, is only the tip of the iceberg. As most of mine are 2015-17 bands and many people shop for older bands on eBay etc., it would be great to work towards some sort of visualiser. Thanks again for making the app and I look forward to seeing it evolve further!
Great app
Don’t mind paying the one time fee. thanks for not making it a subscription. GREAT WORK!!
Another developer gets greedy
Bandbreite used to be a terrific tool for both referencing every Apple Watch band ever released and cataloguing one’s own collection. While I understand a developer’s desire to monetize his work, without warning Version 2 holds existing users hostage until they give the creator money just to continue using the cataloguing function. Feels like extortion, Mr Chudzinski. If your intent is not to “shake down” your followers, perhaps you’d consider re-releasing Version 1 with its fewer bells and whistles, but with the original cataloguing function for free — alongside your fancier, paid Version 2.
Please Add Other Language
I hope to add Chinese.
Outdated
Keine aktuellen Daten (Gehäusegrössen und passende Armband-Größen). Barcode-Scannen erkennt kein einziges der aktuellen Bänder (2024).
Pretty good
This app is well made for what it does, which is a checklist of watch bands. But what I was really hoping to see was a sort of expanded watch studio where I could pick any watch case and pair it with any band to see how it looks. If that feature could be implemented then this would be an immediate five stars from me.
Amazing app and sudden purchase
I have to say I love this and really rely on this app to account how many bands I got (guess 70+ now…) The latest UI design is great though maybe there will be a little bit processing and downloading when I launch this app. Wish there could be a discount for OG users as I really appreciate that app and need the Pro upgrade…….
Update Ruined A Good Thing
Update is objectively terrible, and I’m not talking about it being a paid app now. The update did nothing to improve the UI. It hid features that were once accessible. My goodness what was the thinking here? You tried to make a “slick” app, when the app was already great and easy to use. Another case of one step forward, two steps back.
Third party band support?
Great app. Can we add third party bands? Even if they are no-name, could we just take a photo of them and name them what we want?
Why is the text so small?
I have dynamic text turned on, but even at the largest size, the font size is so small that I can’t read it, making this app useless to me. Unfortunate, as it looks like it has a great amount of quality content.
Great APP, but without latest
This app is fantastic! It’s a powerful tools to organize all your bands. But I’m wondering why it only updated until 2023 fall?
“Version 2 Upgrade”
This app used to be awesome and I loved using it until they came out with V2. I went to log my band for today, today being the first time I’ve used it since the update and accidentally removed one of my bands from my collection since I was confused by the new UI. I was then shocked to learn I HAD to pay to add my watch band back to my collection since I own more than 5 bands. This is absolutely outrageous since the whole point of this app was to be able to log your collections. I get it’s not a subscription but the fact I am having to pay for an update I didn’t ask for is insane. I will no longer be using this app and sincerely hope others see this and quit as well.
Very good app
I love this app, the only thing missing after adding iCloud sync and IPad app is being able to share your current collection (and wishlist?) in the app with friends. So like to be able to see when a friend add a new item to his collection would be very useful and cool. Hope you will do it. Thanks.
Amazing Database! A Collector’s Dream!
Wow! This app is amazing!! I also collect vinyl records, and in the record collecting community we have Discogs as an in-depth database and way to log our collections. This is the Discogs of Apple Watch bands! So detailed, and such a beautiful app, one could be fooled into thinking Apple themselves made it! I can’t believe this app isn’t talked about way more!
Pay to play update
This app used to be wonderful at keeping track of what you had, your wishlist, etc. but with the 2.0 update everything was wiped. Meaning your collection, your wishlist, your settings, anything you’ve done for years is gone. Now you have to pay to do anything useful if you’re a collector. Apps always do this, hook you in, claim they need to raise funds in order to continue with a one-time “lifetime” fee, and suddenly it becomes a monthly subscription when they get even more greedy or become valued and sell to another company.
Stern.
