Great app
Nice and easy to use
Verification
I’m not receiving the code to my phone. I checked the spam folder.
Future listing feature relies on AI Predictability, not verified unit availability/information
As the title indicates, Openigloo is yet another app now relying on data pooling from rental history for lease expirations to “predict” when units will go on the market. It’s being advertised as a method for you to get ahead and plan for your anticipated move-in date (if beyond the typical 30 days out), but in reality there is no verified postings, lease expirations, or unit information on these listings that confirm unit availability; furthermore, the app artificially manufactures “scheduled viewing” windows to offer you, when in reality you’re simply messaging with their chatbot and never fulfill any tours or further conversation. It’s just a gimmick and not a productive means of “getting ahead” on your apartment search as advertised. It’s unfortunate because in theory this would be an extraordinarily helpful tool, so long as it was actually executed in a meaningful way.

Love this app!
Absolute game changer when apartment hunting in nyc. Found a stabilized apartment - I just wish there was more reviews
This App is not user friendly!
This app get stuck. You must close it down to start over. Also the AI assistant gets your appointments mixed up!
Not accurate
Did not receive a call back on an upcoming apartment
Ehh

Easy way to apartment search
Easy
Misleading listings
This website is very misleading.
NYC
Apt search
Reviews are wrong
I am looking at a new unit I am thinking of moving into and I noticed one of the reviews included my own review of my current unit. As I read the other reviews, I realized they were all from my current building. This app is clearly querying the wrong reviews and mixing in reviews from my current building. I logged into the web app, and the reviews appear to be showing correctly and not incorrectly showing any reviews from my building. Everything else about this app is amazing, but this is a MAJOR issue as reviews is the primary value proposition of this app.
Helping tenants
Great app for learning about tenants rights and finding units in NYC
False info
I find the listings or false when I went there in person it’s just exaggerated
Not promising
Overall I have not a great experience looking for an apartment
Essential for NYC
I heavily rely on openigloo when apartment hunting in the city. The information is invaluable!
Useless unless you want to pay for it
You can’t access any real pertinent information about a building unless you pay for access which is $10 for 24 hour access or $25 for longer. For an app that claims to want to help protect from corruption in the city it’s a pretty steep pay wall that’s preventing many people from using it and spreading well needed information
OpenIgloo taking bribes
The founder of OpenIgloo stated last year on TikTok that they do not remove any negative reviews when landlords ask them to. But I guess money talks. Because my review, as well as others, were all removed from the previous building that I lived that. So now it shows as no reviews. I would suggest if you are a renter, and you see a building with no reviews, it’s probably because the landlord greased OpenIgloo’s palms. So run!!
Super useful
Openigloo was so useful in helping me make an informed decision when I was apartment hunting in NYC. Definitely recommend to anyone in the same boat
Terrible
No matter how much u apply no one ever gets back to you no emails no open house nothing a waste of time
Useful tool for renters
I appreciate the intention with this app. It’s a step in the right direction putting power back in the hands of renters.
fake
i reached out to over 10 apartments on this app and didn’t hear back from a single one. doesn’t actually contact any landlords or lease agents. do not recommend any subscriptions here.
Awersome
I like this app but don’t want to pay
Candidate Exploitation
This company operates in bad faith. I went through five interview rounds and was asked to complete a detailed case study, only to realize the role wasn’t real and my work was being used for ideas. Lesson learned: be cautious of companies requesting unpaid work outside legitimate hiring channels.
Super helpful
Won’t find an apartment without it
A Fee to Read Reviews
This app used to be completely free now they charge $9.99 for 24 hr access to read reviews or $19.99 for 3 months. Nothing in between. Also should be noted that you cannot pay using the App Store. You need to pay using the apps own website which explains why people are complaining about it being impossible to cancel.
Essential for apt hunting
Essential to factor in management company when comparing different apartments. Must have apt hunting companion app
Glitches
Something went wrong. We have recorded the event and will work on fixing it asap. Please press the button to restart the app. Everytime I go to type in an address. Useless app
