This game was fun till they added all the ads. An advertisement after each button you press, practically.

But it will not let me use Facebook to save my account it also won’t let me change my guys name I keep going into the setting but after clicking done and leaving then when you reenter the settings menu it goes back to just what name you had before!?!!?? But I played this game allot on my android but now that I got Apple seems this version on the game is so very clogged with forced adds that’s new from what I remember
Do not get this game
Have to put 5 stars for obvious reasons but if you want a game that’s fair then this game is not for you. They pop up ads in the MIDDLE of matches that make it impossible to play and they do not level it. In 5 seconds of the match starting someone will have 27K power without ever defeating an opponent and its near impossible to claim a victory when you first start playing. And units take 75 gold to level up to level 4, but you only get 14 gold with a VICTORY. Definitely a pay to win game, would not recommend under any circumstances.

Haven’t installed this game in years and reinstalled it to find out there’s 10 minute ads in it now

I love this game. Fast paced matches are great upgrades are simple but effective. The problem is the adds. I don’t mind watching the adds, I know it’s a great income stream. My problem is for some reason a lot of the adds freeze up on my and I have to exit the game loosing all the bonuses I’d get from watching the add. I would give you money to stop the adds if that was an option. Please find a way to smooth the app process so I can enjoy this game.
Excessive amounts of Ads!!!
Dear developers. Graphics are very good and Gameplay is also fun. Once you are actually able to play. EVERY action requires you to watch an ad. Please scale back on the amount of required Ads. When you have to spend more time watching Ads, than time of game play simply = no fun.
Love the game but
I love the game but it seems when I get up to the higher levels the game wants to restart me at the beginning does the game need an update? Is there something on my end that I can do so that it doesn’t do that? My game also won’t let me connect to my FB I have deleted it and redownloaded it and it just put me back at the beginning so idk I love the game it’s a great game I just wish it didn’t have all the glitches

Too many ads, and game freezes
Used to be fun once upon a time. But now you’re forced to watch ads, and often times the ads freeze requiring you to close the game and reopen then you have to watch another ad which 50/50 freezes again. It’s like the devs set the game up and then abandoned it to whatever happens
Bug fix
I’m gonna leave a short review, I been playing this game for awhile off & on but I just re-downloaded it & this is the first time I ran into problems for some reason I can’t receive ANY of my reward chests on here or open up any chests even with the ad option I can’t even buy anything even if I wanted to the symbol is grey like it just won’t allow me to do it I can’t even watch a ad for boosts & power ups before the match starts this is ridiculous please fix this it’s definitely a bug if not a few, thank u
Cool but…
Can the game not show an ad after every upgrade?…. Or at least add a “pay for no ads” cause this is ridiculous. 15 ads in a row after upgrade my troops fully. And that was just spearmen and archers I was way too annoyed to upgrade anyone else since I couldn’t just spam click upgrade. No instead I’m bombarded with ads on a decently fun game that offers to sell you brute upgrades even though they rarely even spawn!

I've had the game for a few years now. I used to enjoy it but stopped playing for a while. Just tried to restart playing, and the number of ads they now use is absurd. Beyond the ads to claim items, they now play an ad before and after every battle. They've made it impossible to enjoy. Won't be back.

Could’ve Been Great
At first I had a lot of fun with this game and actually found the concept really fun. But 3 major flaws quickly became apparent. 1. This game is not optimized at all. It lags and glitches and makes my phone hot to the touch. I use a iPhone XS and every other game is fine, so it’s not my phone. 2. Energy based games are ridiculous because you can barely play and this game is based on energy. You can only play 4 times before it has to recharge. 3. The gameplay is unbalanced. The armies quickly become very difficult to beat with random armies suddenly gaining 5k strength. Fix these problems and it would be a 4-5 star game.

I was really enjoying the game, then it started forcing me to watch an ad for each battle even when I had enough energy, then another AD after the battle. I really dislike forced ads and so uninstalled.

Like others have said this game is amazing but I have tow watch an ad at the BEGINNING AND END IF EACH BATTLE and it’s not watch ad to get some this, the ad just plays. I would have paid to get rid of the ads but there’s no option for it. Great game ruined by greed.

Crushing volume of ads
Good concept, great gameplay, better than necessary graphics. So why is this game off my phone? Incredible number of ads. Ads before each battle. Ads if you want to upgrade. Ads during any loading period. These aren’t ads in exchange for bonuses (understandable) but rather ads for every step of the game. It makes the entire thing unplayable, and disappointing to see an otherwise good game ruined this way. Skip this one for sure.

Great game major flaws
Great game really fun to play but two major flaws the developers should look into is you only get 20 energy and every fight costs 5, then it takes forever just to regain 1 energy point you might as well play the game for 10 min in the morning and don’t bother till lunch and then again dinner it can not and will not hold your attention unless you want to unburden your wallet. And secondly MAJOR bug is when you’re playing and down to the last 3-4 players the AI or “other players” will somehow miraculously go from a small manageable number of troops you might have a chance against to over 100k with NO kills to warrant the addition of troops and smoke you. Don’t know how many times I killed 2 of 3 last players and got blown out by the last player that originally had less troops than me. So if you’re looking to waste 10 min here or there or drop untold amount of money download and play it otherwise please don’t waste your time
Great game too many adverts
I have been playing this for a number of months, really like the game play and enjoy the concept and graphics. Recently the number of adverts has increased to the point it has destroyed the game. Where as previously you might one advert every so often it is know every time you click the screen. This has made me get to the point where I will be deleting the game. Wouldn’t mind but I have spend money on the game and would expect to be ad free once you have purchased some gems or life. All in all this was great game til greedy developers who have destroyed the enjoyment by pushing ads for stuff I will never download
Great game
Really love this game. Very addictive. But passes the time. Got to say that you die lot more than winning. Once you get to about level 40+ you constantly loose. Also this game seems to heat my phone up so much that I have to force close it to cool my phone down. Screen back and sides of my phone become to hot to touch
Way too many ads and no way to remove them.
This game has been a whole lot of fun for me. However, the ads are becoming a problem. There’s no way to remove them that I’ve been able to find and there is more time spent on ads viewed than is spent in the game itself. I think it’s about time to move on.
Great fun until pay-to-win takes over
This is a great fun game to play until you get to about level 50 where you start to get stream rollered by players that have beefed up by spending money, and the game loses any sense of balance, which is a shame. Skillful players should still be able to have a chance, but they don't.
Ads... so many
There are ads for everything. You click battle and you get an ad, you upgrade a troop? Ad... dude you watch more ads than you play the game. Gems are extremely slow to gain unless you spend money. Not worth spending money for though. 100% computer is playing against you a lot of the time. These games are not real people, at least a lot of the time. The difficulty increases like crazy. One level you win then the next game every persons troops are at 1 million power when they have 2 troops. So the ranking system needs work because I'm not spending money to upgrade my troops. So it takes forever. Lastly, there is a huge flaw in that every time I fight people just run into a bigger person and get killed by another person and I don't get any points or troops. It's kind of stupid.. there is no strategy you just get lucky 80% of the time.

Frightfully addictive
May I start off this clearly formal review with a bold opinion. THIS. GAME. SLAPS. Ancient Battle is incredibly fun, incredibly intuitive and incredibly well thought out. You may have never played the game, but I could make a fair bet that if I handed this to you, you would already know the controls. The concept is not a particularly new one, with lots of games taking a similar approach, but ancient battle is incredibly well thought out and feels like a completely new idea. The game does not force ads down your throat as much as many others do, although you will need to watch ads if you wish to open chests without gems or if you want a perk for a single round, but that’s fairly standard. For a free game, the ads are relatively minimal. I have not spent a penny of real money on this game, and I don’t feel the need to. You are a little pushed to spend gems and that almost feels like a trap, but I am currently something like level 23 and I have got around needing to spend so far, so you certainly can do it. I highly recommend this game and I have thoroughly enjoyed playing it! A big well done and fantastic work to the developers. You have done a brilliant job on this one. Tom
Too many ads
Ads pops up everytime I finish a battle or whenever I start a battle. I just want to play the game, not watch ads. Wouldn’t recommend this until they reduce the amount of ads. If they ask to pay to turn off the ads, just don’t play the game at all. I’m disappointed that this game is ruin by excessive ads.
A few flaws
Really fun game initially, but then you start running into people who have either played this a long time or paid a lot and the balancing goes to pot. Their armies get stronger way faster than yours, way quicker. It’s a shame they’ve introduced the whole levelling your troops and ‘unique’ items because if you had to pick your soldier types and spells, but it was a level playing Field with stats it would be an awesome game.
Ridiculous amount of ads
I really like how good the graphics are on the game but the ads are absolutely uncanny. You can’t click anywhere without getting an ad which makes it hard to actually love the game. Atleast if they offered people an option of ad free they’d generate a hand full of people but I guess they won’t people to suffer through the same daunting ad over and over. Like how many times do you have to see one ad.
Deserves 5 stars but let down by bugs and gameplay
This is a great idea for a game and the concept sort of works but there are several bugs that break the game. For instance when opening chests more often than not the items are not given to you. The balancing is broken as well as when you join a game you will be classed with players and ‘ai’ that are way above your level and you stand no chance, especially when the side of the map you spawn on has literally zero troops to recruit and the higher level players get all of them and win the game almost instantly. If the devs fix the issues with being given awards from chests and fix the battle balancing and gameplay then the game would be close to being perfect.

I was level 76 spent a lot of time playing now it’s a total different app I still have the other app and can see my level but is locked behind a game I’d number I translated the pop up but everything else is still English
Awesome game
This game is a lot of fun and is really simple. Its a good time filler that is very relaxing. My one main issue is that on certain adverts it wont give you the reward, for instance i have watched the same advert 8 times to get more energy and i haven’t gotten the reward. But other than that its great

Game is great but after only an hour of gameplay I’m done, ads before a battle starts, ads after a battle, ads after training my troops, ads after upgrading a spell or equipment, etc. And all of these ads are unprovoked, I never clicked the watch ad for double option on any of these, it just force feeds ads down your throat. In the 5 minutes it takes to play one match, I have to watch 3-5 ads to start the battle, play the battle, get rewards, and upgrade. It’s an absolute joke and I will be deleting this app now. Maybe offer an ad free option, I’ve never seen a game with this many ads, that doesn’t offer an ad free option. Too bad, the game itself is super fun, but that’s too much Ad︃ forcing on the players, tone it down you greedy morons, before you lose your entire fan base of this game.

This game is a massive fix. Been playing it for a while and every time I start a game up there’s always someone with health over 90k and if you’ve played this game you’d understand. Now every time I play the game and I’m battling with someone, their health always flexes from e.g. 150k - 250k up and down. Games a massive fix
