Hidden gem among clipboard managers
I've been using PastePal for a couple of years now, and it's become one of my favorite Mac utilities. I hadn't used a clipboard manager before, so at first I stuck to the core feature: Getting at previous clipboard items. But PastePal does a lot more than that. The next level is saving collections of frequently used snippets, links, or images for quick retrieval. Some I only use for reference as a quick lookup tool, and it’s super handy. There are also plenty of settings to customize it to your liking (I prefer it on the left side) and advanced features like text transforms that let you fit it into specific workflows. UPPER_SNAKE_CASE anyone? The developer is also very responsive. I've reported minor issues and submitted feature requests, gotten prompt replies, and even had a suggestion implemented in a matter of weeks! In a world where everything seems to be moving to subscriptions, the one-time purchase is refreshing. I've tried a few other clipboard managers when I wondered whether the grass was greener, but I came right back to PastePal. It does everything I need, and more.
Full Windowed Screen Broken
Latest update breaks the full windowed screen option. Fix it.
Good clipboard manager
I’d sure appreciate a simple, compact list view so I can see a dozen items on my iPhone screen rather than just 6 big tiles, though. Update: I just noticed that dark mode isn’t handled well for rich text. The characters are rendered with correct formatting, but as black text on a dark charcoal background, so nearly unreadable. Please fix this.
PastePal isn’t working properly. It keeps closing automatically. :(

iOS Keyboard Needs Improvement
I really like PastePal and bought the lifetime version—it’s affordable, well-designed, and iCloud sync works well. My biggest issue is the iOS keyboard experience. After copying text in another app, the new clipboard item often doesn’t appear in the PastePal keyboard unless I first open the main PastePal app or enable the Picture-in-Picture background monitor. Other clipboard apps can capture the current clipboard as soon as their keyboard is opened, without requiring this extra step. I’d love to see PastePal improve this workflow. It would make the iOS experience much more seamless.
The best clipboard manager for all my devices
This is quick, slick, written in swift and mandatory for all my devices. It syncs clipboards, is very easy to use and perfect for anyone who uses a clipboard
Unreliable for Images
Has been unreliable for saving images. I now depend on Yoink’s embedded clipboard widget for locked and loaded image retention. Glitchy with images sometime works sometimes doesn’t.
Searches seem to need a little update
Being new to the app, I have a lot of detailed copies which can be searched. When I search, I was hoping to see the portions with the search words highlighted and brought to the focus or attention in each clip. Overall the app, so far, seems wonderful!
I recommend to go and buy Paste instead.
This app is slow, over engineered and introduces friction as oppose to helping speed things up for users. Loads of features but most are of little use. Ive been using Paste for a long time and the only reason I considered this was to pay the one time fee, that is commendable. However, this is a slow app and also slower for users to use. Sorry guys but not for me.
Needs ability to pin clips
It works well enough and is slick and ‘Mac like’. Really like the Hot Edge function. However the inability to pin clips in the list so they stay put is a huge issue to my workflow hence the loss of 2 stars.
Copy to the clipboard after saving to PastePal please
On the MAC the text/image is immediately copied to the clipboard after saving to PastePal. This needs to happen on the iPad too. ALSO: there is another app named PastePal. It’s probably dangerous, and it’s confusing to see it listed at the top after search.
No background copy - Only works if open each time you copy
It only copies information when I go into the app, so in between copies are gone. I have it allowed for background computing, but that doesn’t matter - it does not work.
Bug 有点多，需要改进。
刚购买使用了一会后来评价。颜值高，功能齐全，很优秀，但是 Bug 比较多。例如：macOS版本，我打开剪贴板的时候，使用快捷键编辑某个文本记录，但是焦点没有在编辑框内，仍然还在剪贴板上，需要用鼠标点击后才能编辑。此外 iOS 版本在应用内能看得到历史纪录，但是使用键盘扩展的时候却是空白的。本来想趁着 Paste 订阅快到期，改用 PastePal，现在觉得还是得用回 Paste。貌似 PastePal 是个人开发者的作品，虽然在完善之前我不太想用，但是也没有后悔付款购买，觉得此应用还是有很大的潜力，希望能鼓励一下开发者把应用做得越来越好。
Almost There, But Sync Is a Dealbreaker
I really wanted to love this app but the sync is just terrible. At first I thought it was a work firewall issue, but even at home it doesn't sync reliably. Background sync is not only unreliable but also very slow, and the only consistent fix is to open the settings on both Mac and iOS and manually trigger a sync. I've lost clipboard items because I assumed PastePal was syncing in the background when it wasn't. There are also situations where PastePal doesn't save the clipboard at all unless I open it to kickstart it -- and this is with the app already running. It's a decent app with fantastic features, but unreliable, slow sync and losing clipboard items is a dealbreaker. Going back to Paste until this gets a few more updates.
Does not automatically save clipboard history
We have to open the app and paste individual clips manually for it to keep a record of the clipboard history.
So far, so good of a clipboard manager
This must had been the 5th clipboard manager I've tried. All the others became unusable because of the massive amount of notes and clipboard items I've inserted into the other guys manager after it stopped opening correctly. So far I've not seen this one went out on me and I love the fact that I can export my clippings to a txt file. No complaints.
iCloud sync stopped working
I bought PastePal as a replacement for Pocket/ReadItLater which would sync flawlessly between my Mac, iPad and phone. PastePal worked fine until 1 week ago when it stopping syncing. I confirmed the settings are correct. All my devices are on the same iCloud account (I only have one account). So not sure what to do and I don’t have a lot of time to tinker. Hopefully I didn’t waste my money.
Need a major improvement
It doesn’t save all copied text automatically. You need to keep the app open for it to detect copied content, which is inconvenient. There are many situations where you can’t open the keyboard while copying. Please add an automatic save feature like the Paste app has.
Trial has too many limitations
I’ve been trying out alternative clipboard managers after years of using Alfred for this purpose. I tried Paste, also Raycast Pro, Keyboard Maestro. The problem here is, there are so many limitations and nag screens that I can’t even give this app a fair shake. It won’t even let me exclude 1Password; I can’t add to or change the two apps which are currently ignored. I have many software subscriptions and regularly purchase full versions of apps on multiple platforms. This is not the way to get someone to buy your product.

Beware!! App quits unexpectedly, Developer does not respond
The feature set is nice. The design is ok. That being said, I have three big issues with this app. First, the app quits unexpectedly. So far this has been happening roughly once or twice a day. Really frustrating. Second, you can’t use the app without paying first. Ridiculous imo. I mean, come on, at least give us a day or two trial. And third, the developer does not seem to respond to support requests.
Great but let down by missing keyboard shortcuts
This is a great app with all the features I could wish for from a clipboard manager and they seem to work well. But some of the best features are hard to use because they are not accessible with the keyboard. For instance, I often want to filter by images only - as far as I can tell, this takes two clicks. Anything visible on the screen should be accessible with a keyboard - ideally a command palette.

Not true……
This app does not actually store a history of copied items. It only stores the last item copied before opening the app. Meaning every time you copy something you need to open the app in order for that item to show in history. For example if you want to copy 5 items then you need to open the app once after each copy in order to save all 5 items. If you copy all 5 items and only open the app once after wards then only the last item copied with be saved and the other 4 are non existent. So I feel like I was tricked and I would like a refund.

This app isn’t consistent.
I liked the idea of this app. Copying and pasting between iMac and iOS are available through the Apple ecosystem as it is. Albeit, it doesn’t work very well; and when it does it’s super slow. I downloaded, and paid, for PastePal for both iOS and Mac OS. I often have to open both apps and copy for it to sync. It doesn’t work half of the time, and if I could get my money back I would. I regret buying this. Updating 05/23/2025 after many months of my initial review: I am familiar with Apple apps and know my settings are set to work in tandem with each other smoothly. You guys took my payment, and now update your app every few months. If you’re reading this, I would suggest a different app.

PastePal is an outstanding app, especially impressive for its ability to monitor the clipboard in the background on iOS. However, I do have a few suggestions that I hope can be implemented soon to further enhance the user experience: 1. Optimization of “Copy Stack” Pasting Experience 2. Currently, after enabling the Copy Stack, I need to click the on-screen “Paste” button to paste content. I can’t simply use the Cmd V shortcut to sequentially paste items. For scenarios that require efficient and continuous pasting, this greatly reduces the smoothness and efficiency of the operation. I hope this feature can be improved so that users can quickly paste multiple items directly using Cmd V. 3. Custom Colors for Clip Types 4. Is it possible to add the ability to customize colors for different clip types (similar to the color settings for collections)? This would not only help users manage and distinguish different types of clips more intuitively, but also make the interface more personalized and visually appealing. I sincerely hope that PastePal will continue to improve and bring an even more efficient and convenient experience to its users!
Required me to pay to paste
Looking for a quick simple way to cut and paste history of items, Installed it and the first thing it wanted me to do was pay $15 for the app. Would not even let me paste anything over the previous copied item. Would at least expect that it would let me paste 10-20 items back for free.
Great Clipboard, but missing organization and features
I’ve been using this clipboard for 4 months approx. And it’s great, however: 1. it doesn’t allow you to organize Clips alphabetically which is a problem when you have at least 1,000 clips of different definitions. 2. When dragging from the side panel or window it doesn’t allow multiple pastes, so if you drag 3 clips → it pastes the first clip of the column 3 times. 3. When pasting multiple clips from side panel or window → it doesn’t generate separations between each clip, so everything is mushed together making the pasted text incomprehensible.
Issue with this app copy paste thing
It doesn't perform. I copy multiple text but it doesn't capture in the clipboard. I tried all the way out but it doesn't work.
Hot edge feature tweak
The hot edge option opens the side window whenever the cursor is taken to right side on screen from top to bottom. It creates nuisance while working with other apps and it opens unintentionally. Instead of this, it may open only when the cursor is taken to top right edge of screen and further it should vanish automatically once the cursor is taken off the side window, currently it goes away when we click outside the panel. It is a must required feature
Great Product
It just works - it does exactly what you want it to. May are a second to “settle in” and get used to it, but once you do - you can’t remember what it was like not to have it.
Great on its own, but ended up purchasing re it TWICE!
Bought foot iPad and paid for lifetime license. Went to iPhone to repay the process only to discover that pressing Restore Purchase did nothing. Do I choose to Buy it again with the assumption that like before it would see the existing to license purchase and ask me to restore purchases. Nope! Nope! And now I have Two license! Buyers beware.

Would be nice if we could name items in our collections. I have many API keys in there that I have no idea what service they are for. I know I could add the service to the item, but then when it is copied, the service name would be copied as well.

This is THE Clipboard Manager!
I've been using Maccy to this point and seeing it consuming 2GB of my RAM doing nothing made me concerned and hence I started my search for a good clipboard manager, because it's something I need everyday. And props to the developer! They've been updating the features regularly by taking advice from the audience. Massive props, this *deserves* the 5 stars. Edit: Okay so it's missing one of my favourite features of Maccy which is to be able to select an item from the clipboard whenever it has been copied, but it's available in the paid plan so if you wish to upgrade to the paid plan, it's genuinely worth it, but for the free plan, man that's a pretty critical feature you've left out!
So far it's perfect
I switched from Paste, which I loved, because they broke it for iOS in their v5 update. Enter PastePal. I was able to sync my whole history over to PastePal, which is pretty mind blowing. Everything is identical to Paste, if not better, since it has a full windowed Mac App as well. Keyboard on iOS, Shortcut to add items to your pasteboard. All you need! And no bugs and no subscription!
When it worked, it was great …
Unfortunately the app stopped working and the developer could not fix it. They were very slow to reply if at all and I feel like I really tried to give them all off the help I could. Bummer to spend $15 bucks on an app that worked like a month. I came from Paste app because I wanted to support a smaller dev and not pay for a subscription. All Apple App Store will not refund me either. Just a bummer experience all around. Go grab Pastenow … so far it is awesome.
Brilliant app with a lot of bugs
I love the app, works great in general, one time purchase. It’s just that, I used to use paste earlier, and moved due to the one time purchase. This app works perfectly, but I face a lot of problems trying to do basic things some times. Things like arrow keys stop working on the quick browser. I feel the singular focus on the team should be to polish the experience in the quick browser.
Pasting has broken
In the past few weeks all copied text gets copied to the clipboard with "%20% representing spaces, meaning its useless to paste from the clipboard
Realistically, Pro is the way to go
This app is one of those examples where it would be really nice if the description of the 'in app purchases' described what they actually do. Without the Pro version, you cannot 'copy and paste' from the history. But you can drag and drop. It works, but its engineered to be inconvenient so you buy the pro version. Something it reminds you of each time you forget (because it displays the option to you at all times)

I can’t imagine how much time I would have saved had I started using this app sooner. It is easy to use, doesn’t take up a lot of screen space and does just what I need. It’s terrific.

STOP ASKING FOR ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION! YOU’RE A CLIPBOARD MANAGER, NOT A PASTE MANAGER. WHEN I CLICK ENTER, JUST PUT THE ENTRY ON THE CLIPBOARD. I DO NOT NEED YOUR APP TO DO ANYTHING MORE.
Good app
Please make the tile size smaller for better experience. Tile size is very very large. At least give the user an option to make the tile size smaller in app and also in keyboard extension. The app is good overall.
Too many glitches
I like the app/concept but using it is not easy in the sense where there’s so many glitches. I try to edit a collection, it won’t save. I try to add a link or pin to a collection, it won’t do it. Just in general the app has too many glitches.
