Great app...
I've enjoyed a lot over the past few years. Love getting a heads-up on when to tune into a launch. But since SpaceTwitter has moved its coverage to X, I don't watch them anymore. So I don't need the app. Not at all the fault of the developers of this app, but it's just not useful anymore.
Stopped working
Not receiving any notifications no matter what I do, unsubscribed.
Love it buttt…
Hi this is Ethan and I’m all about this app! It is a solid app and has a very clean interface! There are 2 reasons I am giving this a 4 star rating….. 1. Too basic without the purchase 2. The AR feature doesn’t work. IF YALL FIX THE AR FEATURE AND PUT IT UNDER A PAY WALL I WILL NOT BE HAPPY. That’s it lol👌
Size matters
A 960 MB download to be reminded / notified of StaceX launches???
Performance and memory
Developer needs to focus on reducing app size and improve speed of the app. 300+ mb is insane for what the app does and not everyone has the luxury of memory space so constantly having to redownload on a limited data plan is frustrating and makes the app less functional for us
Awesome Utility for the SpaceX Enthusiast!
Got tired of randomly checking the SpaceX website for advance notice of launch events, then came across Pocket Rocket. The app is really well thought out, and features countdown info, granular info on the boosters being used for launches, and even sends me push notifications when launches are eminent, so I never miss them. It’s also smart in that it tells me when launches are going to occur in *my* local time so I don’t have to even think about the time difference between where I live and whichever launch site is being used (Florida, California, etc.). And as a really nice touch the app features detailed AR models of all of SpaceX’s rockets so I can bring them into my reality to study up close and personal. This developer also implemented really smart use of widgets for the iPhone and iPad Home Screen. Really cool app and worth paying the subscription to get even more info. I recommend this app for any space enthusiast, but especially SpaceX enthusiasts. Well done!
Payment Scam
I paid for the app just to sign up for subscriptions, nice try devs.
Great but —
This is a very well-crafted app and I commend the developers for their attention to detail. However, I see in some of the other reviews that y’all say that there’s only so much a team of people can do as launch details change. I think some of the other apps are using the same API because those update faster. Please consider using the best API so that the information is current. Your attractive widget isn’t that useful if the launch date is wrong!
Glitchy, no links to the actual launch
I have had nothing but aggravation trying to use the app for a relevant cause. Ok, I see the launch time and the the vehicle, but I’m wanting to watch the launch, not a animated pic. Can’t get the scale image of the vehicle to work anymore, I just get notifications at all hours with no info on where/how to watch it
Wanted to check out the AR but...
Figured it'd be fun to spend what would otherwise be "large chocolate bar money" on seeing how tall a falcon rocket would be vs my house. Cause y'know, why not? But every time i try to jump into the AR mode, the whole app crashes? Using an regular iPhone 11 running iOS 14.3 (which i had just updated from 14.2 to check that wasn't the source of the problem). Please help me justify not giving in to my chocolate demons. They're screaming in protest, and i need something cool to show to them or they'll throw a coup.
What an amazing app!!!
I love this app. The AR is really well done and looks amazing. I love how it gives a countdown so i know exactly when it starts. The only thing I would like to see in the future would be more missions like rocket lab or starship events. other tgan that its an amazing app.
Doesn’t work on Vision Pro, no support
Worked for a while on my Vision Pro. Now when I start it all I get is a page with a rocket. No controls or description, no way to reset it. Emailed the support link in the App Store available at the time and the email address was invalid. Now the support link in the App Store just takes you to a website with no support options.
Your vibrations don't queue right
You call yourself a pocket rocket! Can't even get me off at the right time!
App not working
There seems to be an issue with the app updating and alerting for the next launch. Even though I’t was scrub today, it didn’t alert me about the CRS launch. It keeps telling me the next launch is November 1 of the falcon heavy which is long since launched, not sure what the issue is I deleted, and then reinstall the app, but I am still having the same issue.

How do I download the wallpapers?
Crash
I’ve been using Pocket Rocket on my iPhone 8 for quite awhile. With the latest update (1.09.06), as soon as I try to use the AR feature it crashes the app. Help please. Update: Prompt response from the developer. Bug is gone. All is as it was, that is, great. Back to five star.
Pocket Rocket app doesn’t work
Please fix this poorly developed app
Great app
Some small UI issues and missing information But the overall experience is great.
I really, really want to love this app
It looks beautiful. The AR is brilliant. Access to a lot of great information. But… For me, the notifications are unreliable, at best. I generally get the T-24h, and T-1h, but notifications about schedule changes are usually too late to be useful. I do realize that last-minute changes can’t be pushed out instantly, but it’s usually long enough that it’s not helpful. Not sure if it’s an App Store developer issue… The timeline feature, while it looks beautiful, doesn’t provide up-to-date information. It’s currently telling me that the next Falcon 9 launch is on January 31st, which is a week ago. Maybe we don’t know when it’s been rescheduled for? But update the timeline to reflect that. I’d rather have sent this and screenshots in an email, but the developer support site seems to be down and the website just redirects to the App Store…
Neat app, performs poorly
Good app. Lots of potential here. Wish it didn’t make my iPhone feel like the original Apple Watch.
Crashes when er I try the AR feature
Got it for the AR feature. But the app crashes as soon as I attempt to us AR.
Payment scam - don’t buy!
Don’t buy this app! While the app itself may be useful, it won’t even work until you sign up for a free trial of Plus and then agree to pay $0.99 per month forever. This is not disclosed until after you have paid $3.99 for the app! False advertising and certainly not how Apple operates!
Just downloaded app but cant get AR to work
The app is overall good but cant get the main reason I downloaded to work on either iPhone 8 or 10. It just crashes upon opening AR mode for any rocket. Maybe due to recent update. Any help would be appreciated, but overall great job on app!
Crashes on AR start
I tried deleting and reinstalling but it still crashes when starting AR mode
Beautiful App / Poor Launch Alerts
I love this App. It’s beautiful, very Apple-esq and fun to play with. However, I’m giving it three stars because the humans in charge of schedules & alerts have driven me to rate this app. There’s a saying “garbage in / garbage out” and it applies here. The person in charge of inputting calendar data is constantly sending alerts apologizing for inaccurate schedules. I’d say 1/3 of the alerts are “correction” alerts. Let’s retrain this employee and have them input / update rocket schedules correctly the first time. I’ll gladly give this app a solid five star rating if I can go a year w/o receiving and “oops” alert.
Love this!
Been using this as a widget and can’t be any better. Great aesthetics , information, etc.
Disappointing
It’s very disappointing to have paid for this app and have had numerous issues over the last year. Iphone 8+ and Ipad always updated and no problems with other apps and now they are pushing a monthly fee.
One of the best
A beautiful, sleek design. Beautiful renders and a fun AR feature. While it currently only has 1 widget, it’s pretty spot on perfect and even if more get added can’t see myself changing from it. Testing against others for SN8, pocket rocket was the only app to give updates up until scrub, and starship is not even fully supported yet (I do have basic subscription for these notifications). Team is super responsive to questions/problems and you can see the amount of time and work that goes in. I do wish subscriptions were more cohesive, all features for $30-40 a year would draw more in than the current price tag. Bottom line, is pocket rocket worth what you can spend? 100%
Crash
Why does it crash when i try to go to vr
Very basic. Needs more.
The only information given as to when an upcoming launch is to occur is a countdown clock in days and minutes decreasing as in a real countdown. What I think needs to be added is the date and time of the actual launch in day/month/year or a similar format. This then gives me an exact time and date so I can be sure to not book things at that time and I can watch on You Tube. Using just your countdown makes it hard to figure out the day and time of launch.
this app should cost more
this app is too good
False notifications
False launch notifications are numerous . Time to delete. Don’t buy
Good, but currently only SpaceX
Awaiting the addition of launches by launch providers other than SpaceX.
Recent problems
The app became unreliable with Upcoming launch updates. They simply stopped coming. Just missed another launch this morning. VR function is cool for about 30 minutes but the real value was knowing when the next launch is. Looking for a better app now.
A little sluggish, but very cool app!
This runs slowly on my iPhone 7 Plus. I understand this is likely due to processing such high quality models, but it doesn’t feel polished from that angle. Might be nice to have a low quality mode, for slower devices. (My phone never acts slow in other apps—maybe this just needs better optimization?) Some UI stuff: hard to know when you can view certain rockets: e.g. can only see crew dragon on crew dragon launches, but can switch to other vehicles, like Starship, at any point.
Nicely done!
Really polished app. I appreciate the enthusiasm for space and the craftsmanship of the app!
Not on time info
This app is ok, if u don’t pay money for it. Otherwise, it’s junk. Always, missing info, alway incorrect on launches, yes, that’s a generalization, but every time you want correct info, I have to go somewhere else.
Really great concept
A really well executed app that has almost everything you would want on it if you want to follow Spacex in its endeavors. There are still a bit of functionality and interface aspects that could be improved a little, but from what I hear, they’re already working on it. Can easily be a five star app in its later updates.
Disappointed
As of 5/31/20, I’m a bit disappointed in the lack of launch time info updates. U.I. is cool but I expected more information. Perhaps the U.I. is so cool that it is not functionally intuitive. I’m rethinking my purchase.
Interesting, but silver & gold overpriced
An interesting app, but as with so many these days - tries to get too greedy. The silver and gold subscriptions are well overpriced. I would consider them at ( 1/10 ) of the cost. I find almost the whole Apple App Store broken now by incessant greed on the part of developers - too many wanting too much for subscriptions or whatever. So I won’t be subscribing.
It doesn’t seem to notify me of launches
I love this app, but I seem to miss all the launches. It doesn’t notify me very well.
Paid App Treated as Free App
I paid to download this app expecting to receive updates about launches. I got that. But you also want a second purchase through an in-app subscription. I literally received a push notification today saying, "we hope you enjoyed our complementary notifications." It wasn't complementary, the app was $2.99! Pick a pricing strategy and stick to it—either in-app or up-front, but not both. Also, don't use push notifications to advertise the subscription, pretty sure that is against App Store guidelines.
*Update*- Customer Support is great!
While I was kind of upset at the monthly subscription cost, I can totally see where they are coming from. I had an issue that needed to be resolved, and the developer responds very fast to my emails. He helped me with an issue that even Apple was not helping with. While the monthly subscription isn’t for me, it is a great app that I would recommend if you are willing to pay an extra subscription fee for. Even if you don’t pay for a subscription, the app is still pretty good.
Bit basic. Not a lot of info
Ok
Great for phone, but not for tablet.
Cool app, but would like to see it work in landscape mode. Using on a tablet, but is really only good on a phone.
?
How do I get to the starship in AR? Thanks
Disappointed
I mean it gives me the AR experience but I thought the rocket would actually launch but it doesn’t it just shows me a video that I could have looked up on YouTube. I mainly downloaded this so I could see what these rockets look like in person and see what their size is like but I can’t find starship and not only did I pay $3.99 for the app now it’s wants me to subscribe? Just give me a section where I can pull up any SapceX rocket I want and see it in AR in my backyard. Thanks for the response. I’ll wait for the updates and check them out. I tried to look up the url you sent but I can’t copy and paste form here so I wrote it in by hand and it didn’t pull up anything. Tried a couple times.
Just needs one to one scale can’t wait for it to happen soon
Really excited to get that 1:1 scale shortcut. Can’t wait!
Could be better
It seems to work. But is expensive. The alerts show in EST. Which makes no sense to me in London in BST. It looks terrible on an iPad. I was also hoping for far more detail to justify the cost. With rockets from many more companies. Thanks Scott Manley for recommendation.
Medium
Well, the launch countdown works. But that’s about it. The AR just tells me to move my phone... and keep moving... keep moving... for receiving the notifications I need a subscription. Since it’s new I won’t be to harsh and hope it improves in future. But for now I think it’s not to impressive :/
