AGACNP board prep review
I used this question bank while preparing for the AGACNP boards and was disappointed with the overall quality. Many questions were poorly worded, with unclear answer choices that felt more misleading than clinically challenging. Several explanations did not clearly support the correct answer or explain why the other options were wrong. I also found the content overly focused on niche topics, especially orthopedics, which felt disproportionate for a general AGACNP board review. Overall, the question bank had some useful material, but the confusing wording, inconsistent rationales, and unbalanced content made it a frustrating prep resource.

Multiple inconsistencies
Overall the app works well. My problem is with the content. When you actually go through the questions, there are ***multiple inconsistencies*** in the explanations. Example. On one question it says buspirone is a *partial* agonist at x receptor, and on another explanation it says it’s a *full* agonist at the same receptor. Only one is correct. These details matter!!! Explanations also conflict at times with other literature. The more I go through the question bank (for the second time) actually comparing the explanations in very specific detail, the less confidence I have in this question bank. This could all be solved by the content creators ensuring consistency between The explanations, however it’s clear that this is a money making operation and they’ve elected not to do this.

Radiology Application design needs work
1) Inexplicable really high battery usage on the iPad Pro (m4). 2) For radiology, almost every question has an integral exhibit image to view. We need to scrutinize images with the zoom feature. The current implementation is cumbersome. I have to tap the zoom icon, wait for another page to load, and then zoom the image. That’s too many clicks. The new page also hides the question stem and answers, which is bad design. Images should be directly zoomable in the stem. 3) Explanations need fleshing out and proofreading.

This app is super great for review! It helps give you an idea of where you are, and helps you plan and get to where you need to be.
Areas for improvement
Good content. App could be more efficient. For example: Should be a setting to “show explanation” by default esp. in Tutor mode. When reviewing thousands of questions and explanations, manually selecting really slows you down. Would also be nice to have some shortcuts / swipe actions to promptly move through questions, again in interests of efficiency.

Great accompaniment to the online version. No matter where you are, you can hop on the app and count on learning something for the boards.
Glitchy functionality is distracting from studying.
Reported multiple issues where questions would not advance without refreshing the browser screen on the web version and freezing on the app version. This occurred across Google chrome, Microsoft edge, on my iPad, on my iPhone, and on 3 separate desktop computers. I was asked to send multiple emails with details, which I did, I was asked to send videos of the glitches, which I did. Asked to be credited for the time lost only to have my account deactivated with no communication from the company until I called and they explained I would get a third of what I payed refunded or I could get no refund and continue to send examples. When I asked if they reviewed the videos I sent, I was told “they couldn’t open them” - mind you they were mp4 files from my cell phone. When I asked what type of video format they could open I was told “PDF” and to “just take a video on my cell phone.” Extremely sub par user experience with no resolution to glitchy tech, all while trying to study for boards. Do NOT recommend. Spend your money on Fitsgerald or Barkley. Will be filing a dispute with my credit card company and the better business bureau.
Excellent questions with explanations.
Being able to choose the length of the quizzes and the difficulty of the questions allowed me to use Board Vitals when I had just a few minutes or when I really wanted to put myself in true PANRR taking mode. This is a highly effective tool for all learners.
Not Updated
I used boardvitals at first because it was recommended but my school and other schools say that most of the answers are wrong. I have noticed that as i would answer some questions right but it would be marked wrong

I’ve used BoardVitals for a variety of board examinations (general cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear medicine), and so far I have passed the board exams every time. I’m using it again for my upcoming general internal medicine review, and I’m hopeful for the same result. Very convenience question format, easy to use anywhere, and the price is very reasonable as well. Highly recommended.
