Low-pressure
My child is easily overwhelmed, but this app's calm, professional narration and the control he has (choosing/swiping books) create a perfect, low-pressure reading environment. A true haven for differently-wired kids.
App is great, but no sound when scrolling through books.
When I try to scroll through books like you can do on here, there is no sound and when I press play, it doesn’t do anything. I love this app and this is one of my favorite reading apps. Also, when I tried to contact your customer service the button didn’t do anything. Please fix these issues. Like I said great app and I love how you can scroll through books like you do on TikTok with videos or Facebook.
Interactive books
I was skeptical about the possible success of this app, but now my son is always swiping through book covers like a little grown-up, discovering new stories himself, and excited to "play" with books.
Mr
Disappointed. I subscribed for a year planning to read stories in Russian to my child. After a few months the content changed and all stories and tales disappeared, only basic vocab content left. Also lots of English content which I wish wasn’t there to distract my bilingual child. I will not renew.
Probando
Confidence to Fluency
At first, the "Read to Me" feature gave my daughter the confidence to enjoy stories without the pressure of decoding words; but now she follows along in the text herself and her reading fluency has improved dramatically.
Limited 📖 books
It should not have that, kids need to read at home, home school too. And if they don’t have books at home they have no choice but to read in their Devices¡Do not recommend for this app.
Good idea but how on earth do we share
I cannot work out how to share this subscription with my kids.
Family favorite
We travel frequently, and carrying a stack of books was impossible. Booka gives us an entire library on my phone. The mobile layout is perfect, with clear text and vibrant images. We all love it!
Used to be great
Used to be a staple for us, but recently they removed all the fun and interesting books and replaced them. I’m a preschool teacher and I’m all for educational books but the books they replaced it with are mostly non-fiction. An early lover reading comes from love and great stories. They also removed children’s favourites some of which my children rely on without any notice.
Focused time
As a work-from-home parent, I sometimes need 20 minutes of focused time, and this app has become my secret tool for that, with it, my child is safely engaged, swiping through and listening to educational stories.

Benutzerkonto
Schade. Der Support meldet sich auch nicht zurück. Keine Leistung, kein Abo.
Worldly Learning
I’m impressed by the variety! It’s not just fairy tales. We’ve found amazing non-fiction books about space, animals, and different cultures. It's a genuine tool for learning about the world, not just reading.
Poorly edited, questionable stories
At first this was great, but then I started finding poorly edited books with terrible grammar and honestly pretty questionable stories for kids. The ugly duckling is one example. A classic story made terrible due to bad grammar and nonsensical plot points (a farmer kicking the duck, really?). There are some good ones in here, but a randomly chosen story is just as likely to provide a hard to read misadventure. I just cancelled because in my view this should be a moderated experience, instead it has turned into quantity over quality. Do better.
Professional Storytellers
The professional voice actors are what set Booka apart. The stories are performed with such emotion and character, that it feels like having a personal actor in the room. They certainly read better than me.
Really started off great
It started off great, but when I tried to log into my daughters tablet once it was set up it wanted me to subscribe to google play after I already had a subscription through iTunes. Emailed support but no answer. I really wanted to keep it but I’m not paying 20 $ a month for an app with nonexistent support
Reading Independence
Watching my early reader gain independence has been incredible. After some initial hesitation, she now picks a book from her personalized library and has it read to her anytime.
Not working
Garage
Bedtime Bliss
Thanks to this app, with its professional narrators and soothing melodies, bedtime is something we all look forward to. Our nightly routine used to be a struggle, but that is a thing of the past.
Waste of money
I had a subscription with Booka but had to cancel due to poor customer service. They were unable to resolve the ongoing issues with my account, which was frustrating and disappointing.
Kid learning
My 4-year-old feels so grown up swiping through books just like I do on my phone, and I love that he's learning instead of just watching mindless videos.
Cannot check any books
All books are not readable, asking to pay first
