Peak discovery!

The app is great overall, and the emphasis on true human curation is next level – discovered a ton of new music! The content from the various genre communities, coupled with the social aspect creates an exceptionally immersive experience. Also really love the emphasis on supporting artists, highly recommended!

Amazing app!! But just a few notes

I absolutely love the graphics and features on the app. I normally don’t write reviews but I really want this to get out. I love everything so far but I just think you should add lyrics, to keep up with the song. It would personally be a great addition to this already excellent app

What am I missing?

I am excited to give this service a try, but setup has been super un-user-friendly. When creating my account, I was forced to select genres and artists I like (usually there's a way to skip that). On the "rate the artists you like" page, since there was no way to skip it, I went to the trouble of finding and rating artists, waiting for the app to decide I had rated enough to move on with setup, but the "I'm done rating artists button" remained greyed out after every artist I rated. Finally I just manically tapped the button and got it to activate, only to find that none of the artists I had rated were saved - my profile just listed 3 "Artists I love", one of which I'd given one star and the other two I hadn't rated at all. Super frustrating waste of time!!! There is also no Help or Support link within the app. Finally, I'm bummed that there is no web app to be able to stream from my computer, which is how I prefer to listen when I'm not on the go. We'll see how I feel after my free trial is over, but as of now I'm not impressed, especially given that the monthly subscription fee for a multi-user account is the same as Spotify. Not sure what I'm missing with this app getting such stellar ratings...!

Great Concept, Needs a lot of work

I really love the idea of this app and the resistance from algorithmic music selection, which is why I’ll keep this app. It has a huge library, and the design is clean. But there are a lot of issues that are pretty important: • the liked songs, which I’ve always primarily used for music listening, has a cap for how many songs can be saved. There is nothing telling you when you reach that limit and if you keep saving songs it just removes the oldest ones without any indication. • you cannot search within playlists. My original playlist was 6000+ songs, so searching is really useful when I want to find a specific song • no lyrics, not the most important thing but a lot of people like it •cannot skip or go back in a song unless you are specifically in the app. Maybe this is just iOS but if I’m on my lock screen or the dropdown menu, I can’t adjust where I am in the song • no good way to send feedback or see what’s being prioritized or worked on at all. The social media is barely updated. When I emailed about an issue I also mentioned being a pilot tester to provide app feedback and the response completely ignored that part. The issue I was having was fixed, but the whole message could have been acknowledged…. • when I save songs to the playlist they don’t save in order. I saved a few albums from a couple artists (specifically by artist in chronological order) and they saved out of order, with the artists albums mixed together. Then today, weeks later, I saved some other songs and they also got randomly mixed in with previously saved songs/albums instead of being at the top of the playlist • the third party site used to transfer playlists to CodaMusic does not work. It just makes you log in to the services over and over again

So happy to have a great Spotify alternative!

I officially deleted my Spotify premium account, Spotify sucks! Coda has all the music that I want and actually pays their artists more fairly. The only thing I wish was different is that I wish I could change my settings so that once an album is over, it doesn't automatically start playing other music. I really wish I had the option of having silence after an album or playlist is over. Other than that it's great!

Great app, just need additional features

The app is great, however when you download songs for offline play, we don’t have the option to search for songs in the offline playlist. Please add it. Thanks :)

Good Intentions

I really like the intentions of giving more power to the artist and creating human curated playlists for listeners instead of just the algorithm. With that said, I miss having the ability to have local files integrated into my music app. I also don’t like the fact that I can’t unlike individual songs from albums I save. I have to go through and individually pick each song I want to save.

Promising but...

As someone who likes pandora because of the algorithm, coda seems promising. But I didn’t have long with it before it starts asking to pay for it and won’t let you continue. I’m fine with paying but I need more time than testing for about 5 songs before it stops. Wish I could add genres to what I like instead of only artists. I don’t really pay too much attention to what artists I like but I know what genres I like. Add genres for different decades. UI is decent. Now playing screen is a bit busy and the artist/song aren’t centered on the album art. It seems while airplaying it to my Apple TV, I can’t adjust the volume from my phone for some reason. No CarPlay ability.

Awesome app. Was looking an app like this!

This app is amazing in my point of view! Apple Music is so useless to be honest because u need to pay for the songs. Coda is free! Loving it but I just wish that there are some songs that are popular like someone you loved because that’s an amazing song but it didn’t come out. Overall amazing app you should download it!

Why?!

So when I first got the app I thought it was a pretty decent app but then only one day after using it I couldn’t access it and every time I tried to get into it it kicked me out immediately. And I have to re-download the app to get in.

Not better than Spotify

It seems good for the first little bit then it starts asking you to pay and honestly doesn’t have anymore features than Spotify for free it’s basically the same as iHeartRadio free too. Not bad I guess but not that good either.
